All the pointless Core vs Crystal Dynamics wars. I like BOTH eras. But I will say that after Tomb Raider III, Core SUCKED. Don't even get me started on how HORRIBLE their Angel of Darkness was. Worst Tomb Raider game EVER! I'm grateful that Crystal Dynamics brought Tomb Raider back to prominence and got people caring about it again. I'm also excited for the new franchise reboot. Core got it started and did awesome but then as they lost their touch CD revived the series to make it awesome again.
@2129261184 I've played them all and I started with the first back in the day. Core started out awesome but then forgot how to make good TR games. III was meh, TLR was hit or miss, Chronicles SUCKS ASS and Angel of Darkness is a travesty for gaming period as it is horribly developed with flaws and glitches everywhere. If it wasn't for Crystal Dynamics TR wouldn't even be here anymore because of Core messing it up. Anniversary and Legend are the best TR games to me. I'm not bias like a lot of you
@2129261184 There's a reason why Eidos fired them and used CD instead. You people are holding onto nostalgia of a company that fell from grace. It's sad really. I doubt any of you have even played all the TR games regardless of how made them and unbiasedly played and reviewed them. I have and I got my verdict. That being Core went gradually downhill after TR2 and Crystal Dynamics did an awesome job with Legend and Anniversary but screwed up with Underworld. I look forward to the reboot.
@2129261184 Lastly, Lara Croft and The Guardian Light is pure fun and amazing. It's basically what Tomb Raider would have been if it started in the 2D era of gaming. Works PERFECTLY and best captured the spirit of raiding tombs and areas than any other game in the franchise did. Plus there is a LOT of replayability.
This is just sad. :( The second era of TR was nice but the first was just epic and I agree finishing a first era tomb raider was such an achievement while in the second era after you finish it you're like "that's all?", and then you decide to replay the levels just to quench you thirst for more but in the first era BAM after finishing it, just wow considering the first ever game I finished was Tomb Raider 1.
I'm glad that Crystal Dynamics made such a good anniversary edition. Core would have ruined it. They made 3 good original games but it's been miss after miss from there on.
@kimonap That's ironic coming from someone who can't spell. No, the matter of the fact is Core let the series slip. If Core continued to do a good job Crystal would never have been granted rights to produce the series from here on. As a fan of the series (by both developers and ancillary contributors) they irreparably messed up between 4-AoD almost dooming the series.
@loveresievil4 I think it takes a slight amount of intelligence to see that it's fully possible. Have you never, ever played a game series (developed solely by the original developers) that started to go down hill? I am facepalming so hard right now.
@loveresievil4 I'm quite lost here! Are you deliberately trying to come across as brainless? Those games are examples, like Tomb Raider, of series made by the same original developers but have dropped in quality at some point. Proof that original developers can ruin what they started.
@satansam Maybe, i havent played them! i do not care about doom or fuck whatever else! Why should i care about that when your sat arguing over your silly opinion on an unfinished product which would be way more true to the tomb raider series than anything crystal dynamics has ever done.
@loveresievil4 To be fair it wasn't me arguing about my opinion, I stated it and backed it up with facts, it's down to others if they want to argue over it.
@loveresievil4 Unfortunately they were. They're all textbook examples of series that went bad, going off sale data, metacritic ratings and the general consensus.
@satansam So, just to clarify, you'd rather play a game that is widely liked rather than a game that actually offers a challenge? It's obvious who's the brainless one here.
@neylakinz I'm not sure you fully understand, but most of the time a game that is widely liked (Final Fantasy VII, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon, Half Life) then it usually is a good game. And the new games do offer a challenge. I'm a huge fan of the first couple of Tomb Raider games and I enjoy the new ones too - I haven't seen any shift in difficulty from start to finish. They're all really well paced and structured.
@satansam Really? Because CD's TRs are far more simple and easy to beat than Core's. I can beat a CD one in just a couple of days, where it takes me weeks to finish a Core one. It's obvious that CD offers easier games compared to Core, which is why I highly dislike their trilogy. Especially as they changed the entire storyline to something about Lara's parents, which is just random plot and completely cliched. And just because a game is widely liked doesn't mean it offers any sort of challenge.
@riri93villemomble And another one......... Tomb Raider Moved to Square Enix O_o
Next what?!..... Naughty Dog?!...... But seriously.... what would it look like if Tomb Raider Stayed in Core Design or moved to Naughty Dog?! or maby move to other famous developers like EA..... Namco Bandai...... there are so many posibilities!!!!!!

Guys...we're talking about Core Designs here. The same assholes that made The Angel of Darkness. Now all their trailers and gameplay looked great and look at the final product of what we got...shut your damn pie holes and realize that Crystal Dynamics did a far better job in a short amount of time. Lara still runs like a god damn tank in Core's remake. Not cool
@RuthlessBlackWolf why the hell would they release two different versions of the first game with two different companies? You're dumb dude, where's your proof? Wait you don't have any? That's what I thought, all just OPINIONS from you. I never said I didn't like AOD, the gameplay was trash, laggy clunky tank controls and that's coming from a CLASSIC RESIDENT EVIL FAN! Everything about AOD was great except for the garbage mechanics
@RuthlessBlackWolf are you fucking kidding me? Just because it was published in a magazine does not make it fact. Gaming Magazines are known to print a large amount of mistakes and I have proof on that. Why would I need proof? Well besides you sitting here coming at me like some psychotic bitch with more accusations than a guest on Jerry Springer the evidence is quite outstanding to show what kind of person you are. /end. You're dismissed
@RE2LeonS You ve got to be joking right? Core Design was amazing! The failed with one game only AOD.(Which is my fav tomb raider after last revelation) -And it wasnt their fault..eidos rushed them
But your CD company created one disaster after another.....Legend was ok Anniversary sucked cock and Underworld sucked ass .:@
The lost valley in crystal dynamics tomb raider anniversary was rubbish, in fact their remake is rubbish in comparison to core design's tomb raider anniversary edition. The lost valley in this unreleased game looks so much better and more faithfull to the lost valley in the first game, in fact tomb raider anniversary edition is better than crystal dynamics remake.
This was fucking awesome . A Tomb raider in its entirety . why do people want always to fuck with games ?? WHY Didnt they release this masterpiece . Because from what i can tell and see this is a superior game to CD Anniversary
This seriously almost looks more enjoyable..

Her run is very realistic in this (similar to Underworld). Absolutely love Nathan MCree's theme tune.
