Will have to modify the channel page now and add YOU to the list of "Friends I've Met".

Diggin your Nightster... it's yours all right. :~)

  • Had to watch it again. Actually that´s exactly the way it looks like over here. How about a horse-sleigh race with Squirt? Hope, the T1 does well! Greets - ET

  • @endospinktrousers Thank You Samuel.

So admire what you have accomplished with the beautiful little red horse. He's simply adorable and hope Dea takes you up on your challenge. LOL More videos we'd like to see.

Only rain so far this year and big storms all this week. We're cold and muddy in 2010.

So good to see you again. :~)

  • Merry X-mas from Belgium

    Eric Studio ChinChan

  • We're coming to December again and judging by the hair coats on the horses all ready... I'm saying more SNOW!

Thanks for watching and for the comment.

  • Nice to see someone on here that also lives in the High desert. I live in Lancaster ( supposedly, but my neighbor to the right of me has a Palmdale address and the street to the left of me starts Quart Hill, LOL Nice looking horses..I just bought my forst 2, paint horses 2 yr olds I gelded and 1 rides like a baby the other is a spook an we can't seem to get it out of him ?

  • Hi Beanie. We're practically neighbors up here in the High Desert.

If you throw a rock across the street here it lands in Victorville. LOL

Some horses are like that... they're all a little different. Just keep riding Mr Spooky and eventually they learn to settle down.

Good Luck with your first horses!

    Sounds like fun. :~)

  • in Halifax it snowed 99cm in 24hours. Our cars were buried and the snow went up to my shoulder. I was only 9 at the time. the snowstorm was called White Juan because of an eariler hurricane called Hurricane Juan. It was said to be the worst hurricane to hit nova scotia since 30 years ago. Trees were toppled, power was out for a week but so was school =)

  • It was so preety here with all the snow, but cause i have my horse boarded i only got t see him the seocnd day of snow the day were it got alot lighter..and i got to ride him in it for about 30 seconds and then it stopped =( hopefully we can get snow like that again without having to wait another 8 years =P

  • You just never know about the snow up here. We had a couple of winters with no snow at all and then we sure got hit with it last year.

    Have fun with your horse!

    :~)

  • Great Memories to keep- took some pictures of my Icelandic Horses that day coverd with snow. Who knows when they are going to see this again here in the High Desert. : )

  • We've been here 12 years and never saw anything quite like that snow.

The weight of the snow also took down one of our pine trees. Blocked the road in front of the house for almost two days until the city could get a bulldozer out here to clear it. Good thing that no one was trying to drive out there. WOW

We have plenty of firewood now for next winter.

    LOL

Thanks for watching and for the nice comments. :~)

  • lol the horses are like COOL WHAT IS THIS WONDERFUL STUFF=]

  • 'Cool' indeed! LOL

For desert horses that don't see heavy snow like this they weathered it all very well.

They'd grown some extra heavy coats early in the season so I figured we might be in for a cold winter.

Only had to blanket one horse the rest did just fine. Mostly healthy youngsters out there.

Thanks for watching and for the kind comment. :~)

  • Ahhhh. I miss snow. The first horse looked like he was completely stunned to see it all!

  • Hello there, 'Buzz'.

It snowed all right. Heaviest snow they said in 30 years! WOW

Normally we have a nice little dusting but nothing like this. Just amazing and very beautiful.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and for the nice comment.

    :~)

  • all your videos are great, but this one is our favorite so far... keep up the great work...

  • Thank You.

This was a very unusually heavy snow. And it just kept snowing!

Was quite a sight up here in the high desert.

    :~)

  • A genuine pleasure to watch! lol . . . re: the VW getting the peace sign response!

  • Thank You for the nice comment.

It's TRUE... young people will flag me down in the VW bus just to say 'That is the COOLEST VW bus EVER!' They peek in the windows and give me peace signs. 'Thanks for letting us take a look.'

Makes me laugh, these youngsters were probably born in the 80/90's and never got to see a REAL VW bus. LOL

    :~)

  • Had to watch it again as all our snow is melting away today. We didn´t have that much, but maybe there´s some more to come, we had some in March last year. Is that a VW T1 Bus there at 0:25 ? What are you doing with an oldie (but goodie!) like this?

  • Maybe too COLD to snow? From what I've read it's VERY chilly where you're at.

    BRRRRR!

That's an original 1966 VW camper bus. Water tank, sink, refridgerator, tent type awning, etc. Runs like a champ. When I was a kid we used to go fishing/camping all most every weekend in the little VW bus. Grand Mother gave it to me several years ago before she passed away. One of the first cars I learned to drive.

Gotta love the VW it's a true classic now days. Get peace signs every time I drive it. LOL

  • Ok! time to try skijoring!!! Let me know how that goes.... : )

  • Hahaha!

    You are a wild woman!

    'Skijoring'???

Only if you are on the skis. LOL

And Stetson thought life in California was gonna be all sunshine. Felt just like Canada again to him. :~)

  • Wow!! What a winter wonderland Im glad to see Colorado is not the only one with that fluffy white stuff. And other can enjoy it too LOL. Hear ya on the global warming.

  • The weatherman said this was our heaviest snow since 1979, a 30 year record breaker for us up here. WOW!

In Colorado you have those nice cozy barns, our horses just have run in sheds. Horses had grown a LOT of hair early this year so figured we might be in for some COLD weather.

Sure makes everything pretty when it's covered in white.

Thanks for watching and commenting Tina. We appreciate that.

  • Is that Joshua Tree? VERY PRETTY!

  • Yes they are Joshua Trees. No one has ever noticed that before. LOL

You must be some where near me to even recognize Joshua's.

They are vanishing pretty quickly as more civilization encroaches on the desert. We like our Joshua Trees.

Good Luck with your horses. Just keep at it and be patient. You'll get there with them.

    :~)

  • What a wonderful video, 5 stars from me. We havent had snow yet, it looks so good when everything is covered in a white coat of snow. Love your music choice aswell.

  • Thank You!

Nice to have Dea's sister watch one of my silly little videos.

Have a wonderful New Year and your Christmas looked great.

    :~)

  • WOW! I didn't know it could snow down there!!! Hope you have good heating. We are sure enjoying our wood stove.

  • Hi Patricia. We're 3500' elevation up here, get a nice little dusting of snow usually. This was record breaking SNOW. Took down one of our 50' pine trees, really socked us in.

This house was built for cold weather so no problems there. Got a wood stove too and that stove really puts out the heat.

We'll have fire wood for the next 2 years since we got that tree cut the rest of the way out. :~)

So much for 'global warming'. Hehehe!

Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

  • what a super cool video Jewels

  • "COOL" indeed! LOL

Everything is fine up here 'D'. Another storm coming in but we're holding up good.

Vet came today and checked Squirty Wirty Woo Woo, he's gonna be fine too. Learned how to do a real leg wrap. Just like a pro. We got it now. :~)

Horses are all furry and happy Vet said everyone out there is looking real good. She sure likes the way these horses look. That all ways makes us feel good.

    YAY!

    ooxxooxxoo

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BAHHH HUMBUG! Hehehe!

  • Merry Christmas to you, it looks beautiful there, how do the horses like it?

  • Well it's 'LUKE'! Hi there!

Checked your channel some time ago and you hadn't logged in for months. So GLAD to hear from you and that you're okay out there. Was wondering if all was well.

Horses grew a LOT of hair long before the snow hit us. So I figured we were in for a cold winter this year. Kept on eye on them for shivers or signs of stress, but they were all fine with it. They didn't really know what snow was. 'Cept for Stetson, and he's from Canada "A". LOL

    Never broke out blankets.

  • Yea, I was busy all summer riding my horses, I got back in the saddle again after too many years out of it! got me a real good horses in Rio! we went to Medora, ND badlands in Aug. rode right through a buffalo herd. Rio didn't flinch, bless him. He's afraid of holstien cows, lol, thought I was going to go for a ride, but nope, he was a pro! He has a tendancy to be a little skittish at times, lol, he's an Appy, which I said I'd never own, no offense, lol,he's WONDERFUL!Luke with spotts!my new luv

  • We're so HAPPY for you and RIO!

That's excellent news indeed. "Luke with spots"..somewhere Luke is smiling too.

    Sounds like an exciting summer.

Good for YOU. Hug that Rio.

    YAY!

She's back in the saddle again. :~)

  • Yep we had quite an adventure when I brought him home, I rode him the ten miles from my trainer, I wrote the story to my sisters, if I knew how to put it on here I would. It was pretty funny, lol.. good memories :)

  • Well I'm giving you 5 stars for that short story.

That's so wonderful for you to do that with Rio. RODE him the 10 miles home from the trainer. Bet the trainer smiled when she/he heard about that. I'm proud of you!

Yup, you got yourself a keeper in Rio.

Congratulations and just keep having FUN with Rio out there. ((HUGS))

  • Beautiful***** thanks for the 'snowshow' Julie. Will it stick around for a white Xmas?

    Very 'cool'!!LOL

  • Hi Mel. Thanks for watching our little video.

The snow hasn't melted yet and they say there is *another* storm on the way tomorrow. If the weather remains this COLD it will bring even more snow. Just amazing for us up here, snow never falls like this or lasts this long. We live in a DESERT!

So different from your part of the world at this time of year. Hard to believe you are coming in to summer while we're having winter.

Gotta love the power of the internet.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS! :~)

  • Wow you guyz look socked in--lol! Nice appy's you got there Julz.

And very pretty film--have fun riding Stetson to the grocery store . . . (of course 5 stars for snow amazing)

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS KAREN... to you and your family!

If this happened every year around here, we'd need that indoor too. LOL

  • Hey Julz! Awesome! I can remember that it was always so faithful to dust the desert just before Christmas. I'm going to send this to my cousin that I grew up with in VV. He is now a big-time Documentary film/photographer doing National Geographic-type things and living Pauls AU home-town. He'll be excited to see the snow on the High Desert.

  • Hi Phyl. Well good to hear one of our 'home boys' made it to the big time in his career. LOL

He'll enjoy this video. Maybe NOT my skills behind the camera, but the SNOW is awesome.

Haven't seen a snow like this one in the eleven years we've lived up here. WOW!

Snow's still on the ground too.

Thanks for watching and for the nice comments.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!

  • So very nice. I cant believe how much snow is down there now already. Is it snow that lasts a while or does it melt away straight away now.

  • Hello Gitte. This was the heaviest snow we've had here in 11 years. Normally our snow lasts a few hours and it's gone. It's been a few days now and we still have snow this year.

The horses have never lived in a snow like this (except for Stetson) so they aren't sure what to 'do' with it all. Funny actually. They are desert horses!

Totally different from your part of the world this time of year. Isn't that amazing? There you are in summer and we have SNOW.

    :~)

  • Its still spring down here. Mainly wind and rain. Cant wait for it to warm up and settle down to. Not sure when that will happen though. Well im sure since they arnt used to it itll make for some funny moments eventhough cold isnt always to much fun i do miss it at times especially this time of year.

  • Oh, Julie, hope you have some fun with all that white plaything around you, I´d love to have it here. The horses look a bit irritated, but the dog and Bill seem to feel good. May I ad 5 red snowflakes? Go for a nice long winters ride and bring along some more pictures! It´s soooooooo beautiful, thanks!

  • Hello ET. Too COLD to play much in it, got so deep it was hard to walk around.

The last snow we had even close to this depth was about 5 years ago. So the younger horses had never seen this much snow at once. They have plenty of hair, didn't need their blankets and stayed under their roofs for the most part.

Thanks for watching and for the nice comments ET. :~)

  • OMGosh Julz, the snow is beauteous!

I think the hosses are thinking, "I wish Necey would come pick us up in truck-nads and take us to warm 'zona".. lol

My favorite part is Billy waving :~)

  • D'Kneecy, you are one funny lady!

But you know, that's EXACTLY what those hosses was thinking.... Don't we live in a DESERT. What's with all the white stuff?

Took Fancy a long time to feel the chill. I watched her from upstairs playing in the snow for a long time. Eating it, pawing it, about 2 inches deep on her back before she decided her shelter might actually be a *good* idea.

    FUNNY!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Necey and Family. :~)

  • I bet you had a ball watching her play in the snow :~)

  • Oh look - Julz, it's beautiful! I love the scene with all the birds flying, birds and snowflakes whirling... Wonderful! Fancy sure looks excited about it, Squirt not so much...lol - Merry christmas, Julz and critters!

  • Oh Goody, DEA. We're glad you approve of our little video response. Nothing to compare with your exceptional photography. Just loved your original video. :~)

Fancy was very excited about the snow, took her a long time to realize snow is COLD. LOL

Think Squirt's still mad at me for wrapping his leg in purple. Did you see his stylish little bandage? Horses, funny creatures.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, DEA!

Keep warm over there in Japan.

  • Can you say snow plow??? Holy snowballs! You are really gettin it good. Do you usually get this in the desert or is this a fluke? Hope you all weather the storm. Stay safe and warm....

  • Hey Jen.

This certainly was an exceptional snowfall for us. We get a nice dusting every year, gone by noon, no big deal.

We measured soon after this video was posted and we were at 16 inches all ready and it snowed all that night.

So much for 'global warming'. LOL

  • OMG, look at all that snow...hope you still got power...man I wish we could get some of that..Merry Christmas back at you.

  • Hi Bill. Yup we kept the power on, surprising after one of the BIG trees came down across the road under the weight of all that snow.

Tell you what... I'll have hubby scrape up a loader full of this stuff and ship it to you.

    Hehehe!

Heaviest snow we've EVER seen up here and this video was just the beginning of it. WOW!

  • first to view and give you 5 winter stars. Now that is snow amazing !!

  • "Snow amazing"?

You crack me UP Joe. That's really PFlamingoF.

Thinking this would be the time to start Tucker now wouldn't it. It's over your knees and still snowing tonite. By tomorrow we'll have 3 feet of snow if this keeps up.

Yes Sir, good time to start a colt. LOL
