Boot time for the TP is longer because it needs to connect to your webOS profile synch the latest data and the same for your Synergy accounts upon fresh boot. Calendar and Photos app also sync to your Synergy accounts making for a longer startup. You say both are similar but the TP's notifications, card metaphor, Synergy and Touchstone inductive charging with Exhibition do separate the two tablets. I have both the TP and iPad2. I do enjoy interacting with webOS more than iOS5. Both great!
99 vs 499 not one complaint on the HP Touchpad. BUT when the Cyanogen ROM is complete and can be installed via preware AND auto updated via wifi with the ROM manger I will be pleased. DUAL BOOTS! I agree with you Beeper01..... NO real complaints other than a little laggy. I had an Ipad drop dead already. Oh Well as they say.
Who knows what you have done or not done to your Touchpad but I can tell you that I start Angry Birds on mine at the same time as you do in your video and mine opens faster than the iPad's.
There's something seriously wrong with the Touchpad you are using.
I could have 10 apps open in the background and still open Angry Birds faster than your iPad does.
The Touchpad is not a toy like the iPad.
It is a computer and it needs to be tweaked and optimized, just like all computers do.
@Rockysbar Touchpad is overclocked to 1.5 GHz iPad 2 is jailbroken. This is just a generic test. The iPad 2 is overall quicker but you have to keep in mind it isn't loading as much stuff becuase it does not load flash on web pages and the iPad 2 uses a more effiecient although not true multitasking feature. Although I have to disagree with the comparison, I can get much more done on my iPad 2. Mostly because the app there aren't many choices. I will be porting android to it ASAP
@Beeper01 It's really simple. My touchpad is faster than your Touchpad and even faster than your iPad, so something is wrong.
As for iPad using a "more efficient although not true multitasking feature", that sentence has been coined by the fruity Apple addicts who will try to justify the inflated price of the products they buy.
Not true multitasking feature???
You have to wake up, man. Either it is a multitasking device or it is not.
@Rockysbar It would be awesome if you can do video with WebOS 3.0.4 v Ipad 2 (IOS 5). According to HP, 3.0.2 and then 3.0.4 were meant to speed up the touchpad by quite a bit. Cheers!
I failed at getting touchpad guys did you heard about FreebieJeebies? here they say it is not scam /watch?v=0Res_qlpjNU and you can get IPAD 2 FOR FREE ! :) Im not sure if I should believe in it altough
@MrBarn81 yes I was just using it like a normal person would. The touchpad did not feel slow at all it was just when first launching an app it took a bit longer than ipad 2. Keep in mind this touchpad is overclocked to 1.5 GHz

You are not making clinical observations.
When you turn on an iPad, you are turning on a toy that does one single thing at a time.
When you boot up the Touchpad, there r many things in the start up list to give the end user the maximum tablet experience.
For instance, the mail, chat, back up, etc apps run in the background.
It's like comparing pistol to a machine gun.
You may be able to pull out your pistol faster, but how can it come close to comparing to the power of the machine gun? Capiche?

dude you are leaving all the apps running in the background on the touchpad instead of throwing them of screen,
that will slow it down when launching new apps
