although i am no longer into the "religious" music scene, i found this video quite refreshing. thanks for sharing your gift with us all. btw, your dadgad playing is amazing and your voice is soothing.
Jordan, Found your videos tonight. Thanks for sharing your talent through your playing and His spirit through your voice. There's virtue in that voice. Be strong and courageous.
This video was my introduction to your playing and singing, and now I'm hooked! Your arrangement, playing, and voice were beautiful. I didn't want it to end so I had to watch this video over again several times. How did you come to use the DADGAD tuning (dropped a whole step) on this song? I noticed that Chris Tomlin used a standard tuning, which he demonstrated in a video. You have a lot of feeling in what you do, and seem very inspired. I hope you continue learning and performing.
what a sweet comment. um i discovered this whole step down tuning when i watched a demonstration vid by Steven Curtis Chapman. he showed how to play "much of you". that was the tuning he used. i've never gone back. if you are anywhere near trenton, tx, i have a concert there this next month.
I just downloaded your tab for "Famous One" and the DADGAD chord chart from your website. Thanks for taking the time to assemble these tabs in one convenient place. BTW, I just watched this video again about 4 times. I really cannot get enough of it. Thank you and best wishes on your upcoming concert.
You have a wonderful ear for music. Great variety in your phrasing and chord positions. Beautiful voice is icing on the cake. The DADGAD tuning makes this song sing. Keep it up!
Chris! I'm stunned at your talent! I've been playing dadgad for 30 years now. There is no limit to the treasures in this tuning and you have definately brought out many of them in your songs. Ever heard of Michael Hedges? He di a lot for "alt chord tunings" Keep up the good work. Check out Andy Mckee too
i actually made this version up on the fly one day. i didn't find it anywhere. i lead worship too, and DADGAD is the only tuning i use. it's great. i can send you chord chart for it if you want.
BEAUTIFUL. I can't stop watching this. God def blessed you with a wonderful gift. beautiful voice too. love it love it love it! keep praising his name girl :]
finding this arrangement has been a real blessing. i arranged wonderful cross in dadgad & was looking for additional inspiration & found it. love it. different approach. lots of variation. enjoyed learning it. thanks.
i haven't tabbed out Famous One, but what i can do is send you the chord chart i've made of my arrangement, as well as my tabs for all the chords in DADGAD tuning that i know, you could match them up with the chord chart. I need your email address though.
now that was fresh - i really enjoyed that - if ya get time drop in. my daughter plays and sings as well. she's a phil wickham fan. i also just posted a DADGAD medley - love that tuning. makes even the mistakes sound cool ! God bless :-)
you know, i didn't even think anyone knew who phil wickham was. I saw him open for mercyme, but I have never heard anything from him again. I figured he was one of those one time guys, but that's cool. i will have to check out your vids.
phil is a pastors kid from san diego, ca. worship leader type. he has really taken off. great voice and heart for the Lord. check out "Jesus Lord of Heaven" and Divine "Romance". he's a little dude.
sweden....wow. that's awesome! thank you for your kind words. makes me feel great that God could make an online ministry that reaches much further than my little community in Georgia....sweden! and singapore too, as i've made a friend there who is a watcher. God bless, Jordan
haha, yep. much of you tuning. very observant. yeah, all i use dominantly is versions of that tuning. there's just so much chord freedom and open ringing, it's a beautiful tuning that i've fallen in love with. if you like i can tab this one out for you.
Awsesome...I love it when you play open like that...not to mention "Famous One" is one of my favorite songs! hmmm...DADGAD taken down a whole step...how would you pronounce that? :)
