Ok people...i work on that ride...1) there are no ghosts they are our permanent residents u see at the show seems...2) at the point when the doors open that is 5 floors above any halograms...the only thing there is a flash for the photo...3) guests don't know this but right in front of those doors on the photo floor is about 30 feet of ledge its called the light ledge for just that the building lights I've have personally been out there during training while the ride is going the guests can't se

There are ghosts actually, but its hologram. once you sit in the seats in the elevator, it pulls you up 1 level and they have a room with special effects to scare you. I went there and there was like 5 ghosts. The drop was scary. It was in the dark.

It's fake, the movement is very graceful and where it's located is too convenient. It's located at an opening exactly where the riders were in the video, which means they saw the height they were at and "the ghost". It's part of the ride probably, also possibly something to grab the attention of guests when they walk by the ride. Remember, the theme of the ride is being a haunted hotel. Also you hear "There it is! There it is!" when he catches it, which means he seen it before (probably on loop)

First of all, anyone who said this was photoshopped, STFU. You obviously have never used the software in your entire life if you think it's possible to do something like that. Anyway, yes, the ghost is part of the ride. It's not real. Disney is professional and would never want to make an obvious thing showing the reality of anything though. The ghost is a product of a process called Pepper's Ghost Effect. Wiki it. It's what makes the ballroom in the Haunted Mansion work. No projectors involved.

Checked out a couple of first person videos of the ride, but I didn't see anything like that, and didn't see any equipment that could create the effect, aside from those large light fixtures.

LOLOL it's not part of the ride. This is my favorite ride ever, and I know way too much about this ride and have ridden it too many times. No holograms from this ride are outside, and no holograms hang out near the windows. All holograms during the actual drop sequence are at the lower levels of the ride, so this video is still plausible, i suppose.

It wasn't there this June this wasn't part of the ride or outside of it because I hate drop rides and watched it closely, and holograms don't work that way, read about how they do work. Not likely Pepper's Ghost either, and 3D effects like this have been covered well by an earlier commenter. The image appears to mostly be watching the people until they fall, and then it DOES NOT disappear after they do, which is what a ride feature would do....
