  • thats alota dam cocking

like how many things you use

  • thats alota dam cocking

  • hot and sexsey

  • waste of silicone... like a bead weld you get to a point where it's just a waste and provides no more added strength to the seal...

    Other than that, great job!

  • It does nothing, nothing i tell you.

  • mkay

  • How big is your main tank?

  • nice.

  • i think you need some MORE caulking in there

  • Great idea using the tubing to get to the tight spots! I have been rackin my brain tryin to figure out how to get the tight spots in the bubble trap!

  • Mate im a Glazier by trade and have made thousands of tanks and the silicone you used if you havent had a problem yet after a year its safe the only thing i have to say is you used a hell of a lot a bit of overkill but whatever works. Good job

  • cool

  • thats cool

  • cool

  • looks nice friend, but could hardly hear you until the last minute of the movie.... that said I'd like to make one in the near future

  • pro

  • i had a mate who fixed everything with silicone ,but i think u even beat THE SILICONE KING, a thin line???

  • the color silicone makes no difference, what capacity does the same silicone, unlike many there are that are antibacterial and are black, white, and transparent... and the normal and always come in all colors and no have anti-bacterial, white silicone is nothing wrong, the difference is the aesthetics if you want to display transparent or white ..

  • at 3:00 how are you holding the caulk gun+the tube+squeezing the trigger for the gun+resting a hand on the table? i see 3 arms in the shot. Alien?

  • I have never had luck with white silicon.

  • thanks for the vid

  • @awinski999 well thanks for coment, and yes I let silicon dry for like a week or more, and the reason i used 55-galon tank is simply to have more water for the system, More water equals less maintence, or should I say if you have a issue with tank you have more time to fix problem , although I have Not had any problem yet with this tank set up.

    Thanks

  • dude ii got high off of the silicone on accident when i did this to my tank my brother said it smelt bad stuck my nose right by it like a dumbass.

  • what kind of slicone are you using? brand? and what store did you get it from?

    thanks

  • Excellent vid, very informative. Thanks for posting it.

  • Best stuff to use that is cheap and affective is the 100% Silicone GE makes. Comes in a red regular size calk tube. 4x cheaper then aquarium silicone and safe for use in fishtanks/reeftanks. Home Depot carries it. I wouldn't trust the white stuff. What I've heard, is that it contains anti-mold chemicals than CAN effect life in your tank. But if it works for you I suppose that's fine.

  • so is it aqarium safe

  • Well man like I said before, Anyone can use what even they feel good with , But as for me and mine I have used all types of 100% Silicon and this white has been installed for 1-year as you can see in my video posting and I have not had any problem ! So you be the judge??

    Thanks

  • @thepeanutking 100% silicone is always fine.

It is same in fresh water tanks, they talk about soap and chloride.

I always have some soap left on hands (You can smell it so well.), or some chloride that can end up in tank from cleaning glass pipes, I use glass cleaner when I change water, on inside glass even!

But these % of these things are so low, it does nothing.

Silicone is same, it is so so so little even if it ends up in tank.

    It does nothing.

  • the difference is that silicone that is not aquarium safe will eventually leach chemicals into the water which will kill your live rock and inverts and build up in your fish until they die as well. aquarium safe silicone is made to be present in water with living fish and other stuff, it will not break down and your fish and other living creatures will not suffer a fallout type death. but like i said earlier, nice fab work!

  • damn brother, nice fabrication! i work at a hvac wholesale shop and we sell six different types of silicone, white, black, gray, clear but i gotta agree if it doesn't say "aquarium safe" its gonna f you up sometime down the road.

  • well since there seems to be so much concern here lately on me using white silicone, Does anyone one know what the diferenance is besides the color & price?? Becuse like I said it has been installed for 1-year and I havent found any problems??

    Thanks

  • read on this at ovas.ca/index.php?topic=4316.msg32926

  • @thepeanutking Acetate. Aquarium specific silicon is acetate-free

  • that is not silicone and is not aquarium safe and silicone or caulk does not bond very well to dry silicone or caulk (so dont caulk over old caulk). NOT SILICONE THAT IS CAULK!!!!

  • Well I have used this before and works fine for me anyone can use what they want to, this tank has been installed for 1-year now, & it is doing fine , So you decide.

    Thanks

  • @thepeanutking regular silicone has worked well for me too but if you wnat to stay on the safe side pet stores sell all glass aquarium tank silicone. FYI

  • good job relly

  • When I built my sump I used glass panels (1/4 inch) and they ended up cheaper than plexi glass. The glass shop cuts them to size and sands the edges. I don't believe that white silicon is aquarium safe as it will leach fungicides into the water. I emailed a few silicon companys and they said if it doesn't say for aquariums not to use it.

  • a word of advice, plexi glass tends to have a high impact on your ph level, the molecules which include ammonia then to seperate at a more rapid pace then with reguar tempared glass

  • your sumps bigger than my tank : ( haha

  • hi what are the sizes of the 4 dividers? thanks

  • good job

  • should have used clear silicon instead of white looks better more profecinal and a better speller

  • Who cares what color silicon is on the sump? No one will ever see it under the display tank, Duh

  • as i said make it look more profecinal der

  • Nice! thank you

  • you should do a video of your tank and show the sump working and flow rate and other stuff

  • really nice. 5 star

  • Great tip on the 90 degree angle wood. Thanks :-)

  • how can I make sure the same amount of water is going into the sump than the amount that is going out so i wont have an overflowed sump?

  • Well thanks for your question ! And the way that this is determed is the flow and or restriction, What I mean by that is you need to have the same amount of water pumping out of sump (via-pump) to the display tank as is going back down to the sump and there is many ways to regulate this filter matrial is the easest way, also your Pump needs to match your Pipe or Hose size(small will restric flow) - (big will reduce, slow down flow)

  • also the overflow is going to put out the same ammount of water as the pump is pumping from the sump

  • Very nice project, you got the tank for free but you had a lot of work to get it working :) If i were you i´d change those bags of active charcoal and phosphate remover to near the return pump because whre they are they will became dirty and reduce its effect faster, thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.

  • Thanks Sounds like a Great Idea !!!

  • thank u very much for sharing this with us
