Sometimes, even the most experienced artist is so zoned out and zoomed in, he can't see it. The MIRROR doesn't lie. It tells you the way it'll look in reverse. If it doesn't look good thru a mirror, the anatomy's off. I also do this by turning the paper around and holding it up against light. Actually, most artists never travel wihout a mirror.

i agree with aydenblu. in the time of Da Vinci they might have mirrors, but they dont have the technology to get another image that is the same and make it transparent and then put it together and all such, and he COULDNT have done it, no matter if theres a computer or not. maybe this is just...dunno...

you know... this made me question at first... but I draw. THEN I REMEMBERED. I, as well as many artists DO use MIRRORS to make sure the figure look good in a reversed view. keeping this in mind...this doesn't seem far fetched. i hate to admit.

lol. Sometimes, when artists draw, it might be off porportion. Especially an angled shot. An eye might be misplaced. The mouth might be crooked. Sometimes, even the most experienced artist is so zoned out and zoomed in, he can't see it. The MIRROR doesn't lie. It tells you the way it'll look in reverse. If it doesn't look good thru a mirror, the anatomy's off. I also do this by turning the paper around and holding it up against light. Actually, most artists never travel wihout a mirror.
