Depending on where you live, if your in the U.S., you can find local parks NORMALLY through the Amtgard Atlas (google it), recommendation: if the information is available, contact anyone who's phone number or email listed and ask if the park is running (sometimes parks die from low attendance and the Atlas didn't get updated) and then just gauge the different parks around you if it is indeed "dead". Just my suggestion.

We use one of those plastic round dish snowsleds as a mold to cast a copy on fiberglass...amking a much more superior core for a shield.
