I just confirmed that my darling puppy I rescued this summer is a Pekachi-I knew his Mom was a Peke, but wasn't sure about Dad. After looking at videos on here I realized he must be part Chihuahua as well. I am WILD for this dog-his ears flop down like a Peke, but he has a thick coat (brown and white) and his body looks just like yours-adorable mix. Great temperament.
My Pugsley looks just like her. I love her. She is so beautiful. They look so much alike.He is just a little lighter in his dark spots. We should hook them up.
They are such sweet dogs-- a great mix! A few things that we did were...1. Any time she barked when she was a puppy, we told her "No" in a very low, disappointing voice. Even though it was super cute to hear her baby puppy bark, we did not want to end up with a barky little dog. It worked pretty well, and she rarely barks. Also, we used potty pads because she is way too small to go in the snow in the winter.
continued...To encourage her to go on the potty pads, and not elsewhere, as she had frequently done in the beginning, was that anytime she went on the potty pad we made the HUGEST deal and clapped excitedly, then we gave her a treat; she will learn how to do anything for a treat! I wish that we had introduced her to more dogs when she was younger, but we were so nervous because of her size; she's very friendly with humans, but she has a tough time with other dogs.
continued 2...I think if we had exposed her a bit more, than she'd be better. I'd say the same thing about kids too. She wasn't around them much as a puppy, so she has a harder time around them now. Just try to expose your puppy to whatever you want them to be used to, and don't allow the barking! Post a pic!
a pekignese and chihuahua? yeah I have one they squeak alot so just say no continuilly and when it pees and poops put its nose near it then scratch its paw on the door and it will start scratching when it wants to go out. It works with my pekignese chihuahua
Ahhhhh she is soooo cute. We have a peke-chi also named Weezer that looks a lot like your pup. He is like our child! There something about this breed combo...they sure know how to capture your heart. :)
