Instead of finding ways to raise the 10 billion dollars from within the budget for these benefits, congressional democrats wanted to BORROW the money and increase our debt more. They wanted a unanimous last minute vote, no roll call, no vote recorded. They knew this was coming up and did nothing to find the funds. If you were going to lose your car, would you look for the money in your own budget, cut things out you don't need to make payments, or would you borrow the money and owe more debt?

It's funny how Republicans find their fiscally responsible religion when it's on the backs of the poor and suffering ? This was an emergency . We are still at the ends of a recession . If Bunning is for pay-as-you-go, why did he vote against the pay-as-you-go bill ? Why did Bunning vote for two Bush wars, tax breaks for the richest 1%, and a prescription drug plan, ALL UNPAID FOR ?
