Admit it or not black metal is huge there are so many styles and genres of black metal that you just cant pick one band and compare it to the other to prove how one band is bad and VC are particularly un matched and unique in their style so comparing them to norwegian bands is just fail
@Haldei When this album first came out, I was experimenting with this substance. I really thought the band was stupid and all, ideologies, image etc but I bought the album just because of the DXM reference. It took me to be under the influence of it to really appreciate it. I can't say I like it much now but the connection between the music created and the substance is quite unique and no band has done that to me, so I applaud that!
Darkthrone is not the epitome of black metal. And are in fact not even a very good band in my book. Their word is not law. And what the fuck do zombies have to do with black metal? That's always been waaaaay more of a death metal thing. Not that you seem like you would know the difference, honestly.
@Possessed666 Actually, the band seems to mostly be influenced and take Dextromethorphan, a drug I can say from personal use is the exact opposite of happiness, it is the ideal thing to make all thought processes have a pessimistic tinge to them.

It's not what the fans believe about the music that makes it what it is, it's defined by what the artists are trying to express in the music.

It's true that did rip off other music once before but they've since been releasing original music for Velvet Cacoon. The album this song is from is amazing and should be immediately sought out.
