It all really depends on which canon story you believe. One story says Cortana got the coordinates from a Covenent transmission Keyes intercepted on the Iroquois over Sigma Octanus IV. The Pillar of Autumn was in space, and stayed in space for the whole battle of Reach, and jumped after rescuing the Chief from Gamma Station. This is the one I believe.

The other is the Noble Six story. Seeing as the book was better than Halo: Reach, and came first, I believe the first story more than Noble's.

For e.g, Cortana wouldnt even of existed had Halsey died before looking into her dead friends's data chip (found at the end of the 1st mission) thus meaning that Six would have not been involved with transporting it in the first place. The same goes for Emile manning the cannon so Six can get it to the ship. Without those involved with Cortana nothing would of happened.

Who knew the Auttum was almost destroyed at Harvest (outter collony planet that was attacked by Covenant) and was saved by the "Spirit of Fire" (a UNSC ship) re-furbrished after that. Even though the ship only had one MAC cannon it used a laser cooling system, un cluttering the engine room by removing cooling pipes. The cooling system allowed the engine to run 300% power of its normal opperation for a short time and also has a second "dumb AI which you never hear about.
