  • Chris! You are my inspiration! I am struggling through life just trying to get by, trying to get a job in the financial industry, trying to pay my bill, and most importantly of all...trying to pursue happiness. You are my hero.

  • I just watched the movie the Pursuit of Happyness, and I was touched by your story, your really a good man Mr. Gardner

  • Smart, truthful, real, and down to earth.....truly an inspiration.

  • this guy (chris gardner) is amazing!!! no matter what he just kept going no matter what.. truly amazing!!! :D i just can't get over it.. this movie is so sad!! :( but i'm so happy for him and all that he has ackomplished!! from pverty to a multi millionair!!

  • He didn't spell happiness correct

  • @Baller527 correctLY, and it was intentional fuckhead.

  • @SJGibbons1000 intentional ,* fuckhead . You fuckhead

  • @Baller527 You are an idiot, he spelled it that way because the bad day care he put his son in was named something with the word happiness in it, and they spelled it "Happyness" hence why the movie and the book is called "The Pursuit of Happyness." If you actually read the book or watched the movie and paid attention, you would have known this.

  • Just watched The Pursuit of Happyness, again... (A Will Smith movie marathon)

*Wipe away tear* I remember watching this the first time when I was a kid(I was a very adult child in my opinion) and loved this movie.

I'm South african and I remeber when he met Mandela, and all that hype...

Man, this is one of my favorite movies, EVA!!!

  • thumbs up for Chris Gardner for president

  • this man is a really good role model for young boys

  • What he said at the end about parents giving their children too much I agree with him 100%. I have a son and daughter and I do try NOT to spoil them but in my life, they always come first and I make sure they never go without necessities.

I have SO MUCH RESPECT for this man.....I love the way he is dressed.....CLASSY GUY!!

  • God bless you Chris... Thank you for your story and your inspiring pursuit of happiness..

  • conga man..

  • The movie was cool. He went through a lot.

  • He's probably wearing $10,000 worth of clothing ---- PURE CLASS

  • @Hunkola and two watches as always

  • 3:57 then 4:15

  • Maybe he learned how to make a lot of money, but he already don´t know how to dress. =P

    Whoa it's isai rofl.

  • god im losing the game of life soo bad rite now

  • 2:30 , Amen Brother!

  • America needs more people like this

  • liberals hate this movie

  • @adamholzer1992 Um...why? I share many of my own personal views with the views of Liberals and I love it. Its an incredibly powerful story of success and dedication. Please don't try and provoke arguments needlessly.

  • @adamholzer1992 The fuck are you talking about? I love this movie.

  • @adamholzer1992 : Why's that...?

  • epic laugh

  • .. i saw the movie.. and i just can't hold back my tears.. i was truly inspired.. TWO THUMBS UP for Mr. Gardner.. i salute you much and respect as well.. thank you for sharing us your STORY.

  • @zEaLoT181 IF YOU SAW THE FILM YOU'D KNOW THIS FOOL WAS A SELFISH SOB. FEW WOMEN WHO SAW THIS LIKED HIS CHARACTER.

  • The real Chris Gardener (the guy interviewed above) asked the Reverend Cecil Williams to allow he and his child to stay at the local United Methodist Church’s shelter for homeless women.

The good Reverend understood the child and parent needed to be protected.

So he did what a Christians is supposed to do and broke cruel rules to help those who needed it most.

  • An Inspirational Person, who has touched my life in a very positive way.

  • this man demonstrate that you can be whatever you wanna be ,even in critical situations so dont let the others to discourage you ! they say that because they couldnt do something with their life but that dont means that you cant do something with yours !!

  • two watches??

  • its true, kids these days(me in particular) are too spolied, we hold ourselfs to a high entitlement, and expect things to come easy. i agree with what he says, but what he doesnt know that, today, the world has become alot harder to live, the economy is all fucked up, jobs are scarce, to even get a decent job, you need atleast a four year degree, and even then you have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy a house.

  • can't stand libanopolis. . . but like, and am totally inspired by Chris Gardiner

  • i love the movie..

  • My mother is my Chris Gardner.

And she did give me too much.

And I'm amazed how she, as a human, could endure the situations she's had to.

I need to get my shit together... Damn.

  • @Ebvardh same here .Our parents did so much for us and we still keep thinking about waste things like fun and adventure instead of loving and taking care of our parents first

  • his pants is too short

  • @M1SSCHINADOLL Your education is too short

  • What a bunch of retards, having a race war here. This guy is a role model for men everywhere. He showed that so called mothers aren't THE parent..

  • He's wearing two watches.

  • @pUrplEnuRpL3 because now he can afford them

  • you are my inspiration! love u christopher gardner!!!

  • @RichoRosai You can't diss this man, so don't even try.

  • @RichoRosai fuck off.

  • @RichoRosai lol you reek of envy.

  • @RichoRosai Chris gardner is helping the world by inspiring them to become the best that they can be and also making a living for his family whilst you are sitting behind your pc typing negative sentences because you are an ENVIOUS BROKE BITCH!!!

  • @RichoRosai its kind of funny that you use nigger on the internet and woulnt even bother saying it in front of a african american. you dumbshit. They would woop your ass punch the living shit out of you.

  • @123nypd So you're saying that niggers are irrational and prone to violence when provoked by words. You're racist.

  • @RichoRosai fuck you smart ass. if you called a chinese person a chink or a white person a redneck they get pissed. its a normal human reaction dumbshit, so stfu you Ass Mother fucker!

  • Your my idol

  • Its not just a movie for me, its really a tutorial how to pursuit "happYness" , i learned how to find answers and after watch this several time im sure that "I will find answers" thank Will and Mr. Gardner to guide us to new aspects of life.

  • 8 People need to 'Flock' Themselves

  • I really like this guy

  • 8 people aren't pursuing happiness...

  • dudes got some gangster in him.

  • he is my inspiration!

    amazing man.....

  • hey!! mine birthday is same as his...

  • "victory is when 10,000 hours meets one moment of opportunity."

  • New concept - bust your tail and work yourself up. Don't take handouts.

  • just finished watching this.. fought tears lol struggle of mostly every hard working black man..

  • haha what a man

  • 8:33 - 9:09 Couldn't agree more with him. If you give to your children too much, despite the best intentions you have for them, they won't be prepared for possible hard times in their lives and won't be able to build up their self confidence. Because obstacles in life shows us how strong we are and how much we can achieve,in spite of it....

  • He may have gotten wealthy for his hard work and determination but that last comment speaks to his wisdom as well. Presidents don't exhibit that kind of honesty. What a profound truth he revealed about parents. This is what I take from his experience. best damn comment of the decade!!!!

  • Chris Gardner's story changed my life. I was a nerdy little underdog in college with an undecided major, when an early childhood education teacher showed the class The Pursuit of Happyness. I thought, you know, I always wanted to be a business person but thought, "that's not for an under privileged person, like me" Chris was poor, like me, and that inspired me to major in Accounting. I thank god for this man, his story improved my life.

  • @riverlioness good for you man, I hope I can get success with hard work every day too... this man's story is the one I admire the most...

  • Good for him. But nothing inspirational about this. Anyone can do this with will. Besides, he's a parisitic stockbroker...he achieves personal success but little community success.

  • @Microglia1 ok troll

  • @Ninitos1 Look at the way he carries himself. Two watches. Fancy cufflinks. Cross his legs. Whatever. The guy is still a loser. No way in hell he'll make Black Elite status in Atlanta.

  • @Microglia1 How is he a loser? Bringing down a man on youtube who brought himself up by his own means makes you the real loser...

  • @Microglia1

Black Elite-White Trash-Good God-Evil Devil-..... Give the man some credit, surviving the system is one thing-It is easy to blame the person-I rather would see him as forgiving in that he chose to live in the same community he was tortured by and had the grace to say "FLOCK YOU" and choosing not to pursue a path of trespassing of doing unto others what was did to him. Blame not profession for the shortcomings of the system.

  • @Microglia1

Black Elite-White Trash-Good God-Evil Devil... really, Give the man some credit, surviving the system is one thing-It is easy to blame the person-I like to rather see him as he is, in that he chose to live in the same community he was tortured by and had the grace to forgive and not do unto others what community did to him. Blame not the person but the community that imposed desirability(You need to wear a clean shirt rather than a clean heart, hmmm).

  • @Microglia1 FUCK UP YOU GAYLORD - look at the bigger picture appearance isnt everything. loser

  • This was wonderful. I didn't get to hear any of Chris' interviews before or directly after the release of the movie. I esp like the point he makes regarding kids today & how parents give too much. It IS time that parents start taking shit back. Too many feel they are owed a life when all life owes them is a swift kick in the rear. It's why our oldest child had to get a job if she wanted a cell phone, then later a car, spending money, etc.. She learned to be responsible & we're proud of that.

  • Lol. Are you guys calling George Stroumboulopoulos a jerk? You know how charitably and environmentally aware that guy is?? He seemed a little off in this interview, but by no means is he a jerk. Both men are inspirations. Kudos for the video.

  • a hero indeed!

  • This is so off topic but....take a peek at those socks

  • @Cam4Jess

I am jealous of dem songs.

  • he liked Miles??

    that's so fcking cool!!

  • "it's time for parents to start takin s**t back..." so true and a good suggestion to parents everywhere! Great interview!

  • Although... the interviewer is kind of ruining it for me. It's like he's intimidated to be in the presence of such an accomplished guy, or something like that...

  • Read about this guy's story yesterday and did a quick YouTube search on him. His achievements are shocking - what an inspirational, incredible man.

  • RESPEKT :):):)

  • oh dw white fella is a cunt

and chris is uch an insperation

  • oh dw white fella is a cunt

  • the guy interviewing Chris is a real jerk spoilen mind

  • the host sounds like a dick....

  • chris gardner, what a legend.... he tells it how it is and is such an intelligent person! F*CK Quincy Troop :D

  • What a wonderful interview of truth. Makes me remember the nights I spent in a homeless shelter with my 9 month old daughter. 12 years later, I built our home. We can become whatever we choose.

  • @SPARKWISDOM Wow. well done. that's inspiring x

  • @SPARKWISDOM gotta love our beautiful country....

  • @SPARKWISDOM wooooooooooooow ... u r really strong ... u have to relax now ... thank u

  • @SPARKWISDOM in america

  • this is the man the anarchy lovers, the communist, the lazy, all those people need to learn that hard work has his rewards... life treats like shit... but it is up to you to get up and fight! and then claim your prizes. just like my father says

"life is a bitch... is up to you to be the pimp"

  • i would vote this man president!

  • 5:04 when he says alcoholism and choosing to go the other way, it reminds me that my dad was an alcoholic and my parents separated because of it. So, i made a promise to myself (that i have still held to this day) never to take a single drink of alcohol.

  • @benhoward1 come on!!! juts one cup!!! xP just kkiding

  • Dude has to be rich - he dresses as badly as Don Cherry!!!

  • Chris Gardner for president!

  • flock you!

  • Fuck Quicy Troops

  • This man is real!

The Calvary ain't coming, you got to do this yourself.

I can see what makes republicans the way they are to an extent; they don't want to have to give money to folks who don't want to help themselves. You got to want to help yourself the best you can, before you get some help.

  • I wish he was my friend.

  • Chris Gardner is a fucking beast!! One of the best books ever too.

  • "Baby steps count toas long as you're moving forward" this guy is real!!!!

  • @acoustic404 Yes I always tell people this! Oner reason is that if people see baby steps as meaning nothing, they will not move or at least procrastinate a lot. And, it keeps the goal or desire in mind. Out of sight out of mind. This is one reason why people do not meet goals that, and a lack of work ethic and fear are also on the top of the list. One big one is not believing in self , if you can believe in yourself, all the other reasons, will lesson or fall at the waste side.

  • I cry everytime i watch this movie....Mr. Gardner is so inspirational and I love him!!

  • "It's time for parents to start takin' sh*t back" (lol) I couldn't agree with Mr. Gardner more...lol.. Love it!

  • Awesome

  • Awesome!!!!
