  • Not quite on par with the egyptians here but never mind.

  • full of water?Good way to keep rust out

  • ANYONE WANT THE SONG ?! XD its a 1920's mission imposible theme song .. LMFAO

  • thats the best fucking hide out ever

  • put in a really rare car like a Yugo.

  • what a shame to go through all that trouble and not do it properly, what a waste!

  • @aquaculture01 Was done properly, the seal cracked, can you predict 50 years into the future, know anything that is impervious to water, earthquakes, etc.

  • what a shame to go through all that trouble and not do it properly, what a waste!

  • What were they thinking? Underground? Of course it's gonna get wet! Da?

Car would have been better off in an abandoned railroad tunnel. What a waste of a nice car.

  • @fiddlerpin Did you mean Duh?

  • The music makes it sound like a heist.

  • too bad it flooded !

  • Wow, that capsul kinda sucks lol, water inside it and apearantly a split top!

  • i dont think the underground idea worked out so well...

  • They werent very smart in the 50s apparently.

  • 8 notes to this song?????

  • what's the name of the song???

  • @HarryOgStolt Music: Link Wray And The Raymen - The Law Of The Jungle

  • so sickining what a discrace

  • read about this in car craft

  • bad.. they use only cement wall... water got in to it

  • only stupid americans would have put a vault under the water table....

  • @TIMMEH19991 shutup idiot then what would have your country would have done?

  • @pastrana362 His country would have put the driver too...

  • i wish they had opened it

  • any one wana go swimming lol

  • Oh,that's right! Watertight!

"Rust Never Sleeps" would be a better tune ...

  • they should have buried the ingenious mother fucker that came up with this brillant idea together with the car.

  • they should have buried the ingenious mother fucker that came up with this brillant idea together with the car.

  • hey were thinking hey let's remindem how to build areal car

  • I guess it didn't dawn on anybody to line the concrete with PLASTIC! Think about it, a flexible plastic skin liner inside the concrete, while it would be unlikely to keep all the water out, would keep more of it out than that pathetic tar substance

  • i cant belive theise stupid hicks put it below ground

  • @thomasuras Nice spelling. At least you're not a stupid hick though...

  • Still looks better than a 2001 Toyota truck frame.

  • I wish they placed another car in a "time capsule" when they removed this one...it would be interesting

  • They put a Prowler in an aboveground time capsule to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the city of Tulsa. They also have a brand new Harley in a time capsule around here somewhere.

  • @crablogic let me know when you ot the harley out

  • @gravedigr12 Supposed to be 50 years from 2007, Funny thing is that the Harley was put in a steel pressure vessel that was supposed to be covered up above ground at Veteran's park at 21st & Boulder in Tulsa. Well, 3 years later, It is not there as far as I know. Probably stashed in a warehouse somewhere.

  • @crablogic someone would probably try to steal it -_-

  • great idea, only a mustang fan would be too dense to see the coolness here...

  • What were they thinking? didn't they think a few of those cars would still be around to day? I mean I think there will be a few boring Civic's and cooler cars like Corvettes in 2060 that were made in 2009

  • they were thinking hey let's take a car from today (1957) and fill it with stuff from 1957 and un earth it 50 years later..cause that's what a time capsule is all about.

  • i heard they are in the process of restoring this car. Does anyone know if this is true?

  • They better be!!!

  • Thats True

  • i very much doubt it, buy the looks of it there would be wayyyyyyyyyy to much rust. u can see there is loads of water in the bottom.

  • why would u put it in the ground they should have put it in a garage it would look better than that

  • I remember reading about this in Hot Rod magazine. The time capsule was originally sealed from the weather, dirt and water when they put the car in there. It was the rennovations to the courthouse building back in the 80s that disturbed the time capsule and allowed to fill with muddy water like that.

  • @Austin4weelinking Your idea takes brains, an underground concrete vault didn't take brains. I mean really "what were they thinking, what did they think would happen?" The guy that created this brainstorm should have been handcuffed to the steering wheel along with others that supported this brainstorm.

  • @Austin4weelinking it reminds me of back to the future :P

  • What a downer

  • too bad it was filled with water

  • This story was in Mopar collectors guide. They buried it in the fifties with a concrete seal but it broke and ground water seeped in and rotted it out. Boyd Coddington and his crew were hired to salvage it but they got sick for some reason. probably the 50 year old chemicals and rust. They used cosmoline to seal the edges but it didnt work as you can see.

  • Actually, the late Boyd Coddington saw how bad the car really was and called off the whole thing. The water seeped in from everywhere, Apparently there was a main waterline break in the early 70's that could have compromised the seal. The lid was sealed with some kind of tar like substance.

  • @crablogic

    bacteria can eat tar.

  • Nice in 57' garbage in 07'. That would have been a good headline for the local paper the next day.

  • If they had sealed properly the car would be as new..

  • Wasn't this is christine? and if i'm wrong, what's so special about it?

  • Yes this is teh CRISTINE car.

They wanna try if the car after 50 years still runing ( whit gas in the tank )..

    But 1 problem, Water :)

  • no christine was a 58 fury.

Same basic car but if you want to get technical

  • Cristine was a 58 plymouth fury. Not a belvdere

  • Depends on whether you mean the book or the movie. In the movie she was a '58 Fury, in the book she was a Belvedere

  • @w4rr10r11 I believe Christine was a fury, not a belvedere they're similar I think, maybe different options or trim levels, looks very similar though.

  • thats fucked up. use better sealants for the vault next time!!!

  • Sealant won't help the moisture problem, as concrete in itself is full of moisture that would have filled the vault with humidity regardless of the joints. It should have been wrapped in a tarp, then the vault be filled with wax. That'd a dunn it!

  • It looks a bit moist in there.

  • lol whos idea was it to buiry it lol

Hey bob lets buiry a brand spanking new car

Why jerald thats a might fine thing but we wont be alive to see it again

  • The've found Jimmy Hoffa!

  • i dare them to drink some of that water

  • Weapons of mass destruction have finally been found.

  • cars like that used to kill more people than the ak47 lol :)

  • lol

  • If Geraldo Rivera opened it, the car would be missing.

  • hahahahaha

  • You'd think these retreads would know that it was gonna fill up with water! C'mon

You could'nt make it water tight?

  • Has car been under the water inside the booth?

  • So who's burried in this car ?

  • if they could just get the engine running, I would love to take my girl out on the town in this baby, who cares if it looks like it came out of the cemetery.

  • real douche bags make comments about something/someone they know nothing about. Idiot!

  • the douche bags forgot to waterproof the concrete. oh well.

  • Well doesn't this suck!!!!???

  • maybeee... pimp ma' ride? xD hahaha they didn't see THIS one comin'''!!!

  • thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

  • lol

  • shit! the Pimp Ma' Ride guys have a got a toughy one comin'!!! xD

  • i just saw this onn the front page of yahoo

  • They shoulda just parked it in a garage.

  • Garage would be too easy!!!

  • You don't think that is rust on the glass do you? It was coated in cosmoline and covered. It should be like new. Couple of flat tires, etc.

  • i came from holland to see this car in tulsa (ok) i was disapointed of the condition of the car but i saw that they closed the tomb with concreet plates.. the tomb was like a swimming pool. it was full of water.

for the people that don`t know what this is they puth this car under the ground in 1957 and 50 years later they unvieling it.. with no succes of the car look at mine video`s greetz don carrera

  • why they did that 50 years ago? =S
