I find it very ironic how the monster called The Second World War engulfed the globe for exactly 6 years, taking life on September 1st 1939 on the German-Polish border and finally vanishing on September 2nd 1945 on the shores of the Tokyo harbor.
Sadly, such horrendous monster swallowed millions of lives throughout the world before fading away.
Let its passing through humanity be a lesson never to be forgotten.
Wow... I didn't know about the bombing raids prior to the A-Bombs. There wasn't much of Japan left. Admiral Yamamoto was right "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
If only we dropped a bomb on Moscow before they got the bomb, so much suffering of Eastern Europe would have been prevented. It would have prevented the whole Cold War with America bringing civilization to Russia that the Soviets hated.
The WW2 vets I talked to say the A bombs should have been dropped. They saved lives on both sides, it would have been a bloodbath for both if a invasion happened. (One vet said we should have dropped at least 2 more!)
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the Christian strongholds of Imperial Japan. The evil of man will one day be made known!
