  • olli brought me here!

  • I played this on PC, but also takes me to good times too.

  • All this wonder on just four channels? Really? Very impressive...

  • The main problem with this mod (and the intro on Dreams too), is that I always used to spend ages listening to the music once the game had loaded before playing :)

True talent - love most of the music from these games including the table music.

  • Ah the pinball fantasy fights who could get the highest score ! I could never beat my parents back then now its not that hard my highest score on the PS3 (yes it was ported and the new delevoper did it beautifully and keeping the nostaglia behind it) is 54.5 Millon ( I was really annoyed when i did that normally my score is around 10-20mil a time)

  • Am still listening to these melodies to this day. The first part of the intro is called Steelchambers 2 and the next is Adrenaline (according to the MOD file info).

  • @Cnith You're not alone. I'm still listening to this as well. Probably the greatest MOD ever made. Heard it the first time in 1992, in South Africa.

  • This and Project X were the best themes I can remember from the day, they were created using Octamed or similar using the MOD fileformat, which like a midi file that contains the notes, MOD files also contain samples which are played through the sequencer :D Love those days!

  • That's some really crazy arrangement and composition work. I can't even imagine how much work went into creating that piece!

Anyone has any idea of who the author is? Easily rivals Huelsbeck's works.

  • @theeltea ... Olof... Gustafsson.... you don't know??.. uhh hmm .. he's my loving inspirator.. ..

  • @TheUrbanaStyle мое любящее вдохновение ... !! :==

  • @TheUrbanaStyle Thanks a lot for the reminder, just didn't remember that he did music for that particular game. The brain just remembered the "Pinball something - GREAT MUSIC" thing and the last fast verse. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @theeltea yeah.. he made real exiting and emotional soundtracks.

  • one of the greatest tracks i´ve ever heard .. I love the variability (if this word exists)

its great musicans work .. this i can say! Great!

  • @tmx235 I agree with you!!! he made this soundtracks with love and passion I really think.. .. I love him..

  • The coolest fact is the developer studio itslef. 18 years ago didi this game. And now they are preparing on eof the most anticipated game ogf the year. BF3. They rule.

  • from 4:56 this song is stuck in my mind

  • my favorite Amiga music is from Battle Squadron... (never liked the game very much, however)

  • These games made me big fan of DICE then EA made them their own bitch : Battlefield is okay but effin where is more games like Mirror's Edge or Mirror's Edge 2?!

  • Great music, great memories...

  • @sznaps82 That is right. This music brings back some memoried. Amiga ruled

  • I'm sitll love it. First track called "Steelchambers2", it's fantastic track.

Second short track called "Adrenaline", which also very good.

  • timewarp:]

  • ms dos 286sx + sbpro

    epic ftw game

  • @kinmanyuen SBPRO My IBM ps/2 used to play this out of the pc speaker!

  • christ this takes me back.

  • To anyone saying that today games suck: they don't! The Amiga games had a lot of humour and charismatic feeling that today 3D monsters does not have but it was a lot of crap also. Compare it to rock music and in the beginning there was Beatles, Rolling stones, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin that set the path but todays band are better in quality.

  • @fredrik999z er, no. You confuse production values with quality. Quality is only and exclusively in talent and inspiration.

  • @duckotaco Yes, and today's games are more talented and inspirational in depth and story. Mostly Amiga games where very simple but yet entertaining. The level is so much higher today in graphics and story that the simple games dissapears.

  • @fredrik999z I do not think that the story in games like Uncharted 2, tha latest Star Wars: The Fource Unleashed, or Resident Evil 5 is anything else but stupid CRAP. I'm sure our definitions of "depth" are entirely different.

  • @fredrik999z ps: there's nothing like a "talented game", only individuals can be talented.

  • @fredrik999z Not at all. Even though games as a whole have become larger in graphics and budget etc, the stories in games have always been complex and deep since the mid-80s, if not more so back then. There were games that had far more depth and inspiration than Uncharted does now, it's just that technology has improved since then, so it all looks better... but the main premise of games stay pretty much the same.

  • The Amiga 500 was the 8th wonder :)

  • HE HE LADS I HAVE THIS GAME NOW ON MY PS3... STILL SAME MUSIC AND GFX. JUST DOWNLOAD IT FROM PS STORE! GREEEAT FUN. JUST LIKE OLD AMIGA DAYS back in 90s.

  • @dannywodniak buy a pc download an emulator and get it for free ...

  • This music always sent shivers down my spine when I started the game.

In the end, I liked Epic Pinball more as a game, though. :P

  • Wow!!!. This brings a lot of memorys to me!!

  • I used to play this in PC using the PC Speaker (no sound card) ant the sound was very similar!!! It was just amazing!!! Good old times!!!

  • Pure FAITH NO MORE!!!

  • Fuckin' kick ass!!! Olof Gustafsson writes the best game music.

  • this is sick!! It was a long time ago I heard this... very powerful tune! I'm insaneously grateful to the creators of emulators such as DOSBOX 0.73 to revive childhood memories! :D

  • ....getting chills all over when I hear the intro to Pinball fantasies! Blessed be DOSBOX 0.73 (I had this on PC) and other emulators to revive childhood memories!!!!!

  • Oh this is how the original sound like really nice!! I just listened to the muffler remix :D

  • The soundtrack of this game was what sold it to me. I remember playing the mod files in a track player. Visual Player, for anyone who might remember it.

  • DJ Muffler's *bomb* of a DnB remix for Pinball Fantasies is out on Hospital Records, there's a promo for it here on Youtube if you search for Muffler Pinball Fantasies.

  • This music is beyond epic it. I always find it funny its on a pinball game. Should be on some epic 80s war movie that was never made

  • A true classic, good to see it made a comeback on iPhone and PSP/PS3

  • @flyingteddy79 just downloaded it on the iPhone. Pretty faithful to the original.

  • AHHHHH I remember this song it was called Steel chambers

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! r woz bout eight yrs old wen r use to watch ma older brother sacha loading this game up from iz discs on iz amiga 64 on! dis various tracs wud play whilst it loaded! scary but serious music doe!

  • I remember that I was letting game play the game music theme. I very liked that one :) I still very like it.

  • What I liked about this game when I was ten years old: (3) Party Land (2) Skulls and Bones (1) the intro music.

What I like about this game now, roughly twelve years later: (4) Skulls and Bones (3) Party Land (2) the coding (1) the intro and menu music.

    Absolutely brilliant tracks by Gustafsson.

  • Aah! Hell! The memories, cant take it.. Allmost crying.. I remeber all the battles we had as little boys with these games..

  • Had this on the PC, I think... lovely game either way I had it. All the boards were fun and had great music, too!

  • ooooh!!!

    me encantaba este juegazo!

  • Remember this theme tune like it was yesterday

  • All Pinball's from 21c are true art !!

  • Shameless self-promotion again, Pinball Fantasies now out for the PSP aswell! :)

  • So many days lost to playing my Amiga, joysticks broken, that was a way to live, Memories ★ΛΜIGΛ★

  • me 2 it was a fantastic game many a sore finger 2

  • .....great amiga 500 times........

  • this brings back memories I am so getting the port on the PSP go I have just asked gamestation to hold for me till thursday when i can pay for it and pick it up.

  • This tune have lot of epic sounds from old Swedish folk music.Perfectly timed for 21st listeners.

The composer Olof Gustafson is a genius.

Can be played anywhere,in a car, while preparing your dinner,at the party.

    Absolutely outstanding.

I can not see such a creativity in nowadays video game industry.

Many composers that make music now should start listening old Amiga tunes, not just this one. They will have many things to learn. And to practise.Good work Olaf!

  • Wow If a modern computer game had this kinda music I'd be pumped to play it! Games are too much like bad movies these days...

  • Very cool man!

  • Amazing how Digital Illusions went on to be known as DICE and produce great games like the Battlefield series! I bet they never thought they'd be where they are now.

  • I remember playing the shareware of this on my PC like 14 years ago. I'd leave it running to listen to the music. Then three or four years later I used winamp to dump the mods to mp3 so I could listen to them on my kickin' rad Diamond Rio PMP300. I used that thing until the battery door broke and the control disc popped off.

I'm glad all this stuff is just on youtube now.

  • Heh, I remember saving all the MOD files from the PC version that was floating about at college at the time and being amazed that they played through the tracker program on the STE, loved this music.

  • Sorry for the plug but now also available on iPhone plus with remixes from the man himself, Olof Gustafsson, in a special VIP section :)

  • Thank you deckscoopex! I have just purchased it because of you :)

  • Music in the old day games! AMAZING

  • I get more of a kick out of these old classics than i do any 360 game despite the advance in graphics.

    Long live the Amiga

  • Good old Times

  • too much for my memory!!

  • fuckin amazing choon

  • A A a A aa aaaAAAa AMAZING! :)

  • wow i actually remembered the game because of the music here. usually it is the other way around

  • I like this a lot. Then again, I like most of the music Digital Illusions put into their pinball games.

  • one of the best ever. i m impressed when listened on my 8" KRK monitors.

im looking for a music from a puzzle game with an ant called pullover? do u all remember? i cant find it!

  • The game I think you are referring to is Pushover. It was bundled with the A600 in the UK. have a look at some emulator sites. Sure you'll find it!

  • yeah! i found it! fantastic, thanx!

  • i remember the track your thinking of catchy as, im gonna find that now lol

  • You mean Pushover from Ocean Software

  • amiga had of course 4 channel. and there are no "cheated" digital samples used like c. huelsbeck for example did.

  • One of the best Amiga songs evar!

  • The music is pure delirium.Need a remix to play it in my car.Any help?A REALLY REALLY ONE OF THE GREATES MUSIC I EVER HEARD.THIS MUSIC KICKS ASS OVER MANY MULTI MILLIONS BUDGET TODAYS GAMES.LISTEN LAST 2-3 MINUTES.OUTSTANDING.

  • Stunningly awesome music!!! Epic and timeless!!!

  • TURN THE VOLUME UP!!!

  • I'm still blown away by the sound capabilities of the Amiga. Pure bliss!

  • @KooKooBoomBoom amiga sound capabilities > every other soundcard. since 1985. isn't it mindblowing and spectacular at the same time?

  • @KooKooBoomBoom it is not Amiga's abilities that count here. It is the composer (Olof Gustaffson) who was able to make wonders with 4 chanels.

  • @faeyesh1 Of course you're right. But the Amiga is only surpassed by the SID on the C64. By the way, a lot of composers on the Amiga made their own music software. I'm not sure that Blaizer did, but Hülsbeck was one of them.

  • @KooKooBoomBoom Don't forget that it sounded *exactly* the same in the DOS version. This is 1:1 for what I remember hearing as a wee little kid about 15 years ago. It's a Fasttracker (.mod) file, which is kinda like midi, but way cooler.

  • @TheJazzdogg Not quite exactly the same, if you had a PC speaker, it had a lower bit-depth due to being PWM-modulated on a 1-bit DAC.

  • Is this music a CD track or 4 channel sound chip music?

  • i believe its 4 channel

  • This game was able to play this music and sound effects on a PC-speaker!! (without soundcard)!

  • that sounds like bs to me!

  • no bs!

I hd no speaker and it worked, not like this thou

  • This Song was so stunning back in Time

  • Quality. great memorys. listen to Project x its brilliant.

  • This soundtrack made Olof game soundtrack star, check out his Motorhead tunes

  • but if you liked this one try out the turrican II music ,, that also rocks ... amiga music is the greatest!!!

  • Man thats the best i´ve ever heard .. i remember i played this and i was always stuned by the music ... the best gaME MUSIC EVER

  • "Blaizer" always delivers :)

  • When I was child, I listened to this tune with open mouth and in silence for all over the duration. It's one of the BEST Amiga tunes I've ever listened, if not the best. In truth, the entire pinball dreams soundtrack shows the extraordinary talent of the composer, Olof Gustaffson.

It shows also EVERYTHING you must know and learn in order to use Protracker with only 4 channels: fantasy, skill, originality, tecnique. Simply amazing.

  • ops, pinball fantasies : )

  • should i download this program to my comp. ?

  • AWSOME!

  • Awesome! By the way, where's "repeat all" button?

  • This music track is simply incredible, and Pinball Fantasies is an awesome game. This along with Dreams needs to be brought back in some form to a new audience, why doesn't someone release it on a download service like XBox live or release it on a compilation, I would pay good money for that! :0)

  • As would I. I LOVED Pinball Dreams.

  • Thats the song from KML

  • @Barnigs

    the song from ... WHAT?

  • An awesome useage of PROTRACKER!!

And I totally agree. Music these days may as well be ripped off a CD.. no real passion involved anymore.. The sheer amount of work that went into this 1 tune probably blows away most modern day productions..

  • Music quality in games has dropped drastically since Pinball Fantasies and games of that time. Nowadays no one bothers to compose cathcy and emotional computer music anymore. Everything is trusted in expensive production and composition is a joke. This song is more catchy and inspiring than anything done in video game industry in last 10 years or so. And it's made with 4 fucking channels. Think about it. Plus, the game was addictive as hell.

  • Agreed. This was probably the best bit of music out there, but there were other good ones. I seem to remember swiv having good music... I'm also a fan of the leander world 1 theme :p

  • @aalataur Truest comment on all of youtube.

  • @aalataur this is true man.

  • @aalataur I strongly agree! Game music today has nothing compared to early 90's!

Back then music was done with pure passion and that is something what you could hear!

  • @aalataur What about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 & 2?

  • @AsteroSSB shhhhhhh. please

  • @aalataur 64 bits of agreement

  • @aalataur I absolutely do agree with you... this music is one of the best song ever made for video game industry

  • @kensou13 any Pinabll series that Dice did had great tunes!

  • the best 4chn mod ever. period.

  • Agree !

Pinball Illusion had some outstanding tracks too.

  • Project X as well was a classic mod tune.

  • Ich liebe diesen Track! Soviele veränderungen !! Einfach nur geil ... EUPHoRIE

  • the Amiga tunes has the beggining that the PC lacked

  • I really didn't play the game much but the intro music still brings so nostalgic memories.

  • back in the days man... this game was all that!!

  • I remember the very first day I inserted Pinball Dreams in the Amiga and was thrilled to hell when I heard this superb tune !! Great nostalgia!

  • awesome tune, dark and catchy.

  • When i first started getting into gaming, I was an Atari ST man all the way with games like Xenon, R-Type Gods etc.. i would never ever associate with anyone who had an Amiga, then once upon a time i managed to get an A1200 once my Atari ST FM finally packed up and discovered that the games i was already playing were slightly better and I could also get AGA type games. I cant remember the last time I was that excited LOL!

  • LOL i used to sometimes leave this game on in my bedroom when i was younger to see if anyone of my friends seemed impressed by the music in it.

  • did the same XD... so much nostalgia!

  • I sat shivering to this music when buying it for the PC, it was fckng blown away fantastic...

They even made it sound sweet on a crappy PC SPEAKER without sound card!!! That had never

been done at that level before...

  • That's why gaming was good between '85 and, say, '92. It's too bad the gaming industry didn't pick up from there. There are so many 2D, even 2.5D games from that era that'll easily beat many current 3D games. Instead of biasing towards mind-blowing concepts that keep people interested and cunning programming work that uses as little resources as possible, they just use raw power.

Why would I bother to install 4 GB of game files, while 96kiB is sufficient for a decent shooter? (proof: .kkrieger)

  • For me, the most memorable tune from "Amiga" age.

  • best music ever made on amiga

  • Olof Gustaffson - legend.

    Look for TBL - Starstruck.

  • best *.*mod ever made

  • legendary!

  • Thanks a lot for this great song!

sometimes in the past i´ve started winuae only for hear that soundtrack :P

    *thumbsup*

great game! i hope no one will ever forget it.
