If these three empires had send out messengers to ask to join the 'new faith', then why would Islam laid siege and massacred its inhabitants of Constantinople (modern day Istanbul), and waged a brutal war against Persia until they submit to Islam? The only place that the remotely mentioned like this "70 Virgins" was in an extremely weak Hadeeth (it is weak becausenon of immidiet companions herd it not it has ever been verified that the prophet (PBUH) had ever said it). I have looked at very many Iraq war video's today and am finding it very hard to believe in the goodness of the human soul. There are only people like you socalmaverick that give me hope that the tide against tyranny that rules this world, may one day change.

it is sad that our so called "leaders" fail to recognize that democracy is not exported in an armored vehicle, nor will it flourish when we support tyrants and dictators (we call them moderates) because they serve our interests.
