  • The Niles Canyon is definitely making progress on this classic Skagit diesel car. The horn may very well be original to it. At Brightside, two of the three Magnetic Flagman installations have modern flashers augmenting them; the fourth Flagman was apparently replaced outright for want of parts (NOS Magnetic Signal parts being almost impossible to get nowadays).

  • shut the fuck up u selfish little cocksucker! nobody gives a flying fuck what u think and they all know u just love 2 piss people off and hear yourself talk.

  • Thank you for the very flattering compliment! I sincerely appreciate it!

It is much more valuable as a cash source to have people who need cash desperately obtain collectible parts like the whistle, bell, gauges sets, number boards, marker lights, headlight, builders plate, linkages, subassemblies, air pumps, valves, steam chests, boiler front doors & many other desirable collectible parts which all can be sold from their automobile trunks with NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

    It could be very profitable!

  • @Cockroach2008 oh shut the fuck up come on there are very few of these left but one thing that can be scrapped is your ass

  • When this one is burned out, there will be one less.

Perhaps the seats can be cut apart with a knife, the wood work carved up, the windows scratched with diamond jewelery, graffiti paint painted inside and out!

It would look so good & ready for the scrap yard!

  • @Cockroach2008 hate to rain on your parade but this is owned be a private company they will just keep restoring it if that happens

  • Let them keep trying. Their financial resources will dry up & their patience will wear thin.

There are just too many people who need some cash fast. Parts removed & sold are a quick cash source!

  • Love the little bitty horn.

  • I love those ols SP wigwags I have one in my collection out here on my farm sitting in pieces in my barnthe UP butchered it pretty bad whan they removed it and will take alot of resterationthey wacked into the pole trying to cut it up unsucesfullyso they wacked up the bridge thar the banner box and moter hang on and just let it drop heavilly damaging the banner so it will take alot for me to restore it but I will

  • wig-wags?

    is this in california

  • Why do we love a funky ride like a railbus? Beats me ! I suspect it is the appreciation of human ingeniuity that links us.

  • cute railbus =)

    looks like the german "VT133"

  • Those are some good Magnetic Flagmen but a horrid horn!

  • Yes, he does the proper signal but the last long is supposed to be held until "...the lead locomotive has fully occupied the crossing." If you note he/she ends the signal before the crossing - not the best practice interms of grade crossing safety.

    Frank

  • Thank you so much for pointing out that the final "long" should be held until the crossing is fully occupied.

All the tourist railroad grade crossing videos that I have seen on YouTube seem to have this same problem, caused, I imagine, by amateur engineers and no trainmasters, rules examiners, or road foremen of engines on these railroads.

  • Its good to see Niles Canyon use that again. Its been a very long time.

  • Awesome good railfan video.
