I used to use hi-, but then saw a video of an interview of a guy who wrote a book and all he said was how counting cards in casinos does not work. He mentioned how at any time the dealer can get 21, and how you can"lose it all" just like that. that kind of discouraged me from continuing my counting practicing, then i saw ur "hi lo shattered" video and was interesting. @Tri3Face. Aces are side counted and this is demonstrated on the "Blackjack High-Low Card Count Shattered" video using a chip. The chip going clockwise is similar to the right foot movement. Starting at 12: 00- 1 ace is 1 :07.30, 2 aces is 3: 00, 3 aces is 4: 22.30 and the last ace is 6: 00.

You aren't counting the effect the cards have on your hand, you are counting the effect that the cards you see coming OUT of the deck has on the proportion of cards left IN the deck. Low cards being counted means low cards are OUT, which makes for a higher proportion of high cards remaining IN. More low cards seen=more low cards out=more high cards available to receive.

@staypress: I started with single deck and knew all the blackjack frequencies after practicing 100,000's of hands at the kitchen table. It takes a lot of practice to win in the long run. If you want to try Arnold Snyder's Red 7 count, try asking him some questions on his blackjack message board at Blackjack Forum Online. Snyder has helped me throughout the years and is a source to be trusted.
I forgot one thing sir in that when u have a running count of say +6 therefore the TC is +2 if there are 3 decks remaining but then does the running count continue from the TC or do u go back to the +6 RC and then carry on from there??
staypress: Convert to the true count for betting and playing decisions but always go back to the running count for accuracy throughout the shoe. Yes, continue the running count of +6 in your example. It is difficult, but it is not easy to succeed in this game without hard work.

kal123xyz. If the machine is a continous shuffling machine, then counting is impossible. If the machine is a automatic shuffling machine, counting is possible depending on the penetration.

I just got back from the casino and it was a great success. BJ was full for a while so i played spanish.
When they opened up another BJ table I went over there and started playing 5 dollar min. Within 5 minutes the true count was to +5, ~+20 running count with half the shoe remaining (8 decks, 75-80% penetration) and I had put out some 15 an 20 dollar bets. After one shoe I was up 130 dollars and after the next shoe went into -30 running count I decided to cash out.

I've won money using this count at single deck games in South Lake Tahoe and Reno in the 90's. Single deck has changed from 3-2 to 6-5 on blackjacks at some places.This game is a ripoff. 21 is bullshit because its count(High-Low) cannot calculate blackjack frequencies. The team lost back all of its winnings in real life. I won in the 90's using my method and was barred. Freeze and print it out. You need to play perfect basic strategy and count perfect to win at 21.

If more aces are left and the count is even or more, bet bigger.If more aces have been played, bet the minimum. Freeze and print the "basic strategy" chart in this video. stewy0327. Most of the casinos in Lake Tahoe and Reno deal to 50% of the deck. They do not shuffle after every hand! Make sure that blackjacks are paid at time and a half, not 6/5. 6/5 is a sucker bet which will doom any any 21 player.

A plus count or even a small minus count is good if more aces are left to be played. If more aces than normal have been played in a plus count, it is bad.

Why? because it means that many the high cards 10,J,Q,K,A cards are out; more low cards in the deck; thus higher chance for you to pull a 3 or a 4. The movie "21" used the hi-lo count and they wound up losing at the end. The MIT studends did not take into account the frequencies of a blackjack. Well yes and no, the higher the true count the better odds that facecards are gonna be coming out. But those face cards could also land on the dealers hand...so its not like bulletproof or anything. But its a better strategy than not having any strategy at all.

I do not use Hi-Lo because it is an inferior count. I used it mixed results in the 80's and was not satisfied with the results. I use a ten count which I call JSTATII. The Hi-Lo does not take aces in the importance that it should. If all aces are played and we have a count of +4, Hi-Lo says bet the farm, JSTATII knows to leave or bet low. If more 8's and 9's have been played, JSTATII recognizes it, Hi-Lo doesn't.Dump Hi-Lo and use JSTATII to win. Be a winner instead of a chump.

Some counts such as the hi-lo (which was used on the movie "21") will achieve a losing result. The Ten count(JSTATII)in this video will produce winning. The MIT team lost in the end using Hi-Lo. This ten count is used for betting and playing purposes. A minus count means less tens are left. For playing a -3 count with a dealer ten card up,we hit instead of standing. For betting, if no aces have appeared halfway through the deck and the count is -3, the odds of getting a blackjack is much better than one in 20.7 hands, we bet big. If an ace was played at -3, bet the minimum.

Did you notice the redwood walls? You might have had an different opinion about the 'mansion" it was filmed in. The table might have been tacky but, who wants to wreck an expensive table with chips flying on it? I live a very comfortable lifestyle and playing 21 enhances it. I believe that if players master to win at blackjack, they can do anything they want to. For example, Bill Gross is the CEO of Pimco and he cites card counting on his resume. @SaberDude4 With more aces and tens left, the better chance to nail a blackjack. We get paid 3:2 on our blackjacks while the dealer only takes our bet.

@SaberDude4 Because counting the cards means they are >>OUT<<. You aren't counting the effect the cards have on your hand, you are counting the effect that the cards you see coming OUT of the deck has on the proportion of cards left IN the deck. Low cards being counted means low cards are OUT, which makes for a higher proportion of high cards remaining IN. More low cards seen=more low cards out=more high cards available to receive.

I must admit I do find this count quite hard . I tried it again at the casino and I kept losing the count. do you think I should start on a simpler count and then graduate to youre count , and if so do you think the red seven will do as opposed to the dreaded hi lo

@staypress: I started with single deck and knew all the blackjack frequencies after practicing 100,000's of hands at the kitchen table. It takes a lot of practice to win in the long run. If you want to try Arnold Snyder's Red 7 count, try asking him some questions on his blackjack message board at Blackjack Forum Online. Snyder has helped me throughout the years and is a source to be trusted.

I forgot one thing sir in that when u have a running count of say +6 therefore the TC is +2 if there are 3 decks remaining but then does the running count continue from the TC or do u go back to the +6 RC and then carry on from there??

staypress: Convert to the true count for betting and playing decisions but always go back to the running count for accuracy throughout the shoe. Yes, continue the running count of +6 in your example. It is difficult, but it is not easy to succeed in this game without hard work.

so if you have a 12 to 16 and the dealer has a 9 or 10 showing then do you draw using basic strategy and if the count is say a +5 or 6 then do u stand because there are more high value cards in the deck which would increase you're chances of busting Please help.

Its very easy freespirit. Just takes time to count. Start at zero and add/minus +1 for every non ten(excluding aces) and -2 for every ten card.

jamesdk09. The count you described is the dreaded hi-lo count. It will send you to the cleaners. I was a recovering hi-lo loser at 21 before I discovered my ten count 20 years ago. Yes, the same hi-lo used by the suckers at MIT in the movie 21. The chumps at MIT went bankrupt according to the History Channel's "Breaking Vegas." If Andy Bloch made so much money playing 21, why is he selling dvd's?

I just got back from the casino and it was a great success. BJ was full for a while so i played spanish.
When they opened up another BJ table I went over there and started playing 5 dollar min. Within 5 minutes the true count was to +5, ~+20 running count with half the shoe remaining (8 decks, 75-80% penetration) and I had put out some 15 an 20 dollar bets. After one shoe I was up 130 dollars and after the next shoe went into -30 running count I decided to cash out.

staypress: I was tired of losing on the kitchen table at home with the hi lo count. The JSTAT count in the video narrows the count to aces and tens by separating the two instead of clumping them together as the dreaded hi-lo does. Betting a high count with no aces left, as hi lo can do, will bust us in the end. Your choice, learn the easy way with the count in the video or the HARD WAY and go broke using hi-lo.

JJ, I've been using your count for a while. playing double deck at my house i started with 30 dollars on a $2min-$10 spread (what i play at my local casino) and in about 4 hours of play over the course of 3 days i'm up to 450 dollars.
I know how to calculate the true count and change betting units based off of it. But one thing I am really curious to ask is do you use the high-low count Illustrious 18 for playing decisions or is their an upgraded version to this as well?

achicklol. My count wins because the 7,8,9's are included in the count. We can calculate perfect insurance. The count you described can't. We know the blackjack frequencies with the count in this video. The other counts can't calculate the frequencies.

I've won money using this count at single deck games in South Lake Tahoe and Reno in the 90's. Single deck has changed from 3-2 to 6-5 on blackjacks at some places.This game is a ripoff. My other videos help with shoe games. I've been barred all over Nevada and hope that the viewers hit them harder.

Dakash and the others from MIT used shuffle tracking to get the advantage. The movie 21 did not address shuffle tracking. JSTATII would be perfect for shuffle tracking. Strategic Investments were the subjects of movie 21 on the History Channel. Shuffle tracking is not used in the movie.

I am JSTAT and named the Ten Count for myself. Hi-lo is faulty because Julian Braun bungled the combibational analysis of Harvey Dubner's high/low count in Thorp's "Beat The Dealer". Braun did not take out the 7,8,9's from the deck. The 21 experts don't use hi-lo, it is only for the stupid. Hi-lo is the simple way to lose your shirt LOL

21 is bullshit because its count(High-Low) cannot calculate blackjack frequencies. The team lost back all of its winnings in real life. I won in the 90's using my method and was barred. Maybe the viewers can get barred like me so they can brag to friends and family that the casinos fear intellegence.

If we have a true count of +4 with the normal amount of aces, we take insurance. We should count with 1/4 decks and count the aces accordingly. A basic strategy chart is in this video. Freeze and print it out. You need to play perfect basic strategy and count perfect to win at 21.

kickboy245. The trick is to count in 1/4(13 cards) decks. An ace should appear every 1/4 deck. If more aces are left and the count is even or more, bet bigger.If more aces have been played, bet the minimum. Freeze and print the "basic strategy" chart in this video. It will help with the playing decisions.

stewy0327. Most of the casinos in Lake Tahoe and Reno deal to 50% of the deck. They do not shuffle after every hand! Make sure that blackjacks are paid at time and a half, not 6/5. 6/5 is a sucker bet which will doom any any 21 player.

That is my Ten Count,this is what's written on the cardboard. Tens and face cards are -2, non-tens(excluding aces) are +1. Aces are side counted. If the count is about even at 1/2 deck and no aces or one ace has appeared, we will have the advantage. We will get more blackjacks than normal(one in 20.7 hands)and win in the long run if we play perfect basic strategy.

im sorry but your theory is wrong. 10s Jacks Queen Kings And Aces are -1 7s 8s and 9s are neutral so they produce no value and 2s 3s 4s 5s and 6s get you +1 but you would have to get on a hot table if you want to make it work otherwise the dealer would win when your in the negatives and when you get around +4s and +5s start hitting until you get around 19 but most likely you'll get blackjack or a 20 which is highly said to win and that is true but once you get big money stop before it's to late!

High/Low is "the mans" system. The casino corporations are "the man" and we are the suckers. We are misled to believe that High/Low is the way to beat "the man". High/Low will not win in the long run because it includes aces along with the 10's as minus. If all aces are gone and we have a hugh plus count, no blackjacks will occur. We get time and half for blackjacks. The dealer doesn't take time and half from us when they get one.. This extra money is our edge at blackjack. That's why it is called blackjack. Your system YoltsDLeV does not calculate blackjack frequencies as the count in this video does.You can push on 20's all day long, but never win with the high/low count you described. it depends my man. If your hand is 17 and you need a 3 or 4, minus or negative deck is good for you. Why? because it means that many the high cards 10,J,Q,K,A cards are out; more low cards in the deck; thus higher chance for you to pull a 3 or a 4. Thus the higher chance you won't nail blackjacks, my main man. Without blackjacks, an additional 2.4% is given to the house. The fast track to the poorhouse is when only 3's and 4's are left. Side count the aces and use the count in this video to have a fighting chance against the casinos.

That sign is wrong, 2 through 6 is +1 because its good if they are removed from the deck,7 8 9 is neutral meaning 0. Ten, jack, queen, king and Aces are -1 because it's bad if they are removed from the deck because those are the ones that help you hit blackjack or "21"..careful on what video's you watch about card counting...not all are correct.

If we trade blackjacks with the dealer, we win our bet plus 50%(do not play 6-5 blackjack payouts, you will go broke!). The dealer takes our bet when they receive blackjack. They do not take 50% from us. When the deck is rich with aces and tens, more blackjacks appear for us and the dealer. We win 50% more when we trade blackjacks with the dealer! Adilinar9000, if all aces are left at 1/2 deck and the count is -2, we still have the advantage with my ten count. If the count is higher and no aces are left, the odds of losing is increased, do not play. The hi-lo count does not detect this. The movie "21" used the hi-lo count and they wound up losing at the end. The MIT studends did not take into account the frequencies of a blackjack. We predict more blackjacks with my ten count than any other count. JSTAT

Well yes and no, the higher the true count the better odds that facecards are gonna be coming out. But those face cards could also land on the dealers hand...so its not like bulletproof or anything. But its a better strategy than not having any strategy at all.

Yes 1Teguc1, true counts are used in the multi deck games. In this single deck game, the aces are side counted per 1/4 deck for perfect insurance betting and perfect blackjack frequency betting. No way the Hi-Lo count can do this.

I do not use Hi-Lo because it is an inferior count. I used it mixed results in the 80's and was not satisfied with the results. I use a ten count which I call JSTATII. The Hi-Lo does not take aces in the importance that it should. If all aces are played and we have a count of +4, Hi-Lo says bet the farm, JSTATII knows to leave or bet low. If more 8's and 9's have been played, JSTATII recognizes it, Hi-Lo doesn't.Dump Hi-Lo and use JSTATII to win. Be a winner instead of a chump.

theres different kinds you probably use Hi-Lo hes using a more technical way

there are many ways to count... some are easier than others... the harder ones give you a more accurate probability...
but they all achieve the same result, so use whatever fits you bst.

Some counts such as the hi-lo (which was used on the movie "21") will achieve a losing result. The Ten count(JSTATII)in this video will produce winning. The MIT team lost in the end using Hi-Lo. I am still winning after 20 years of playing my Ten count. My Ten Count is an upgrade from Thorp's Ten-Count in his book "Beat The Dealer". Thorp used his Ten-Count in his best seller book. I trust Thorp's work over others work at hi-lo. "21" showed his book, but did not use Thorp's count! JSTAT

hey i actullly have legit question that u might find stupid. wat is the count used for??? lets say the count is -3... wat is the -3 used for or applied to. is that u should hit if the count is negative or somethin...

This ten count is used for betting and playing purposes. A minus count means less tens are left. For playing a -3 count with a dealer ten card up,we hit instead of standing. For betting, if no aces have appeared halfway through the deck and the count is -3, the odds of getting a blackjack is much better than one in 20.7 hands, we bet big. If an ace was played at -3, bet the minimum.

I was dumb enough to be barred from playing blackjack at the Eldorado in Reno in 1997. I won tens of thousands of dollars in northern Nevada from 1991-1997 using my count. Arnold Snyder is the foremost expert at blackjack and agrees that my ten count is valid. I've written many articles for his magazine Blackjack Forum. I've also been a reporter for Stanford Wong's Current Blackjack News. I made a few mistakes in this video because it was on the fly.

Did you notice the redwood walls? You might have had an different opinion about the 'mansion" it was filmed in. The table might have been tacky but, who wants to wreck an expensive table with chips flying on it? I live a very comfortable lifestyle and playing 21 enhances it. I believe that if players master to win at blackjack, they can do anything they want to. For example, Bill Gross is the CEO of Pimco and he cites card counting on his resume. Google "Gross" to confirm his success.

My count is called a ten count except the aces are side counted. It is a balanced count like the hi-lo. My count provides perfect insurance and in my opinion is superior to the hi-lo count.
