damn you left out the very last scene. IM in it! I was stationed at Ft.Jackson during the filming and can be scene marching by during the very last scene, about 30 secs before ending credits!
@stevemen7272 My Drill Sergeant was in two scene's in the movie, one she was in was the last one marching troups. The other she was one of the MP's. Drill Sergeant Tisdale. I Was in Basic at Fort jackson 11-1993 (to) 02-1994.
@Ed911Flint Random: I'm a Tisdale! Sorry it's just that our surname is common but it isn't. Lots of people have that last name, spelled the same and everything. However, it's not as famous as 'johnson' or 'williams'. I'm looking for Drill Sergeant Tisdale. It's great to know there are people out there making the Tisdale name look good : )
@Traydale You can find info on Drill Sergeant Yolanda Tisdale by going to Zabba Search & Intelius websites. You'll have to pay, however Intelius will give you lot of information to find her. Good Luck
@Ed911Flint I was transfering from National Guard to Active duty and had to go to ft.jackson for a few weeks(Oct 1993) for paperwork etc. Most of the time pulling details. One of the details was being an "extra" in this movie. Im pretty sure the DS marching us was a female and in the very last seen we march by Danny Devito. Penny Marshall was really cool and talked to us.
@GSMOUSA Absolutely. My father was in Dessert Storm in Saudi Arabia. He didnt get any big medals or anything like that, but to me he is still a hero. All the men and women that serve this great country are. And I still will NEVER forget the night he came home and I saw him again.
@GSMOUSA i belive that he would knew that he's the one who's getting medal, because the man said in his speech the location where his father died and then everything became clear when the Rago was mentioned in the speech
@RhOnDa2233 I posted this three months ago at Part 13: "For a short period in my life I was an adjunct instructor with a Nebraska college and a university based out of Florida. I used this movie in a small portion of my instructions on Organizational Behavior and Organizational Management. If still teaching, I would continue to do so. The students enjoyed it and the movie had much to offer in these areas." You're wise to use this in English. Good luck in your studies, teaching, and life.
Melvin says; "You know, all those people died, all those Kings and Queens, and in the end, there's only the two guys, Horation and Fortinbras, A soldier, and a student."
@bboymatrixtron82 I have to agree. Though I don't care for Mister DeVito's politcal positions, he should have received an Oscar. This movie was well done.
i love when haywood is given laritise, he goes like give me somebody else, then he practically says the answer, which are his feelings about the character and he gets it right, i love his smile
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hate this movie as a whole but the medal ceremony in this scene and when he makes the soldier quote shakespere always gives me goosebumps other then those scenes never cared for it
Thanks so much for uploading this movie it is one of my fav. I always cry at the end. I know how it would feel if that was me getting my dad's award for i am a navy brat with family in all branchs of the service. Thanks again for the upload.
Teaching young people is great when you are listened to and you observe a change for the better in your students. This film successfully conveys that message. However, I suppose
"teach" started with Shakespeare to provide moving quotes at the end, but in practice something like Stephen Crane's "Red Badge of Courage" would have been far more appropriate and in a kind of language they wouldn't have had to "decode". Fortunate that he didn't have a copy of Chaucer or Beowulf with him instead!
you missed out the last part where they are marching with the military music with the 8 soldiers smiling and saluting bill, and then drill sargeant cass finally welcoming him, where bill announces he is signing up for a second term.
Thank you for poting this. I'm supposted to watch it and make an essay about it and I doesn't have the time to go to blockbuster thaks to you i did it with out living my house, !!!Thanx again!!
There's still one more part... where they're actually graduating and walking past and they salute Rago. And then the very end when new recruits are coming in.

An Oxymoron is when one word is used to describe a word with an opposite meaning.
Examples: jumbo shrimp, absolutely unsure, Almost done, devout atheist, dull shine, defensive strike, even odds, fresh raisins, false fact, growing small, liquid smoke, lightweight, etc
