1. Did you go to any editing school or just have a lot of prectice?

2. What is a template? does it just let people rip off what you did and throw their own info in there?

@slerbo 1. No, I didn't. I taught that all by myself, leaving the latter of your question as the answer.

2. A template is a pre-dresigned project file for Video Editing programs. Someone else did the work for you, and you just need to change the texts and render a template out. It's much faster to work with templates, but it doesn't teach you how to use the program, neither gives you any kind of creative freedom.

awesome work, what computer did you use? And do you find once it's rendered it runs soomthly and what format do you export to? brilliant vid though!

4x2.6 GHz cpu, 2 GB ram, ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB GDDR5 gpu to be precise.

I always render as .avi in x-vid mpeg 4 codec/container.

Smoothness is created through motion blur in After Effects.
