  • I own one of these in the U.S., I reload my own rounds and shoot it at the range,

  • looks like a toy

  • @ajaustin99101 Well that shows how little you know about firearms.

  • @TaZ101SAGA trust me i know alot about firarms ok i was just saying that it looks like something from walmart ok man

  • @ajaustin99101 I live in the UK...Walmart doesn't exist here.

  • my oiler is plastic thank you so fucking much i did not know what that was lol

  • @watchoutnwo Ja welcome ;)

  • How much was it?

  • @MegaGears1 £400 (Which I now know is too much)

  • @TaZ101SAGA Thanks. Very nice rifle by the way :)

  • @MegaGears1 Check the 'Lee Enfield cleaned up' video - It's come a long way since this vid.

  • Do you know your shit about UK gun laws? Can I annoy you with questions?

  • @w4rr0ckm4st3r If you like, but not on the video please.

  • you can get deactivated guns delivered to you, how do you think i got my mosin?

  • @ukDUBSTEPchannel How do you think I got my MG? Delivery...

  • @TaZ101SAGA exactly! i got my mosin negant delivered to me and i live in the uk!

  • @ukDUBSTEPchannel Yeah, sorry but I don't get your point, what's so amazing about having a deactivated gun delivered to your house?

  • @TaZ101SAGA in the video you said they dont deliver deacs in the UK

  • @MrFGBM Well this is an old video, I may have given incorrect information. Correction - You can get deactivated guns delivered to your house, since they are classified as antiques and not firearms.

  • @TaZ101SAGA oh right, never mind. Also, do you know what magazine cut-off means?

  • @MrFGBM The magazine cut off was a feature present on the No1 MkIII rifle. It's essentially a sliding metal plate which can be used to cover the magazine, it stops the bolt from picking up rounds from the magazine upon it's forward movement. This feature was designed to reserve the ammunition in the magazine for emergencies and the soldier would load one round at a time. When the magazine cut off protrudes from the right side of the receiver, it is disabled, activating the magazine.

  • U COULD HAVE BOUGHT A MOSIN NAGANT FOR £2400 LESS LOL BUT THE LEE ENFIELD IS MORE CLASSY AND HAS MIRE HISTORY SO I KNOW WHY U GOT THT INSTEAD

  • @ukDUBSTEPchannel I did have a Mosin too, check my other vids.

  • how about just the cases with out rounds, will they...ah, it won't chamber properly with out the rounds, damn.

  • @cirian75 It cannot chamber inert rounds or empty cases, this rifle is a new-spec.

  • fired one at the atc air training corps :D

  • @xXJAMIE900Xx The bolt makes them much more fun in my opinion.

  • A beautiful rifle the Lee Enfield No4. I have a Longbranch one myself (de-activated unfortuantely) with the woodwork in amazing condition and the bolt in great nick (it still has a great action on it.) Hoping to apply for a FAC to get a live one at some point, though havn't got round to it yet due to the total cost. Glad to see your Enfield is in great condition too. Such a shame every time i see one of these rifles abused

  • @TRUExSIGHTS It's been renovated since this video.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Really? Looking at it, wouldn't personally have thought it would need it, as it seems to be in brilliant condition as it is anyway. Of course I'm jusding it off a video, in light that might now show what i would usually see if there were any issues with it. Saying that though, the metal work and the woodwork look great. Any particular reason to get it renovated?

  • your british

  • @501alistair British/German

  • @TaZ101SAGA well thats cool

  • @MrJanesaddiction people are armed usually because the threat is real and not percieved. one thing that definetly begets the other is a gang of thugs shot and killed by someone defending theirs or their familys life is six feet under and no longer a threat to anybody. the west was brought under control by good people who respected civilized law and had a winchester rifle.

  • they also keep the law abiding disarmed against criminals who will shoot or stab or beat them to death. after all murderers do not care killing is illegal do they.or people that murder with cars.or strangling with a rope.im sure there are maniacs overthere that do that just like there are here.my point is when you are armed you are a free man and not at the mercy of a tyrant like in libya.

  • @martinmojo I agree.

  • @martinmojo, those bullshit laws keep gun wielding maniacs off our streets like over in the states

    - A CITIZEN

  • i guess all those bullshit gunlaws prevented those riots over there recently. be a citizen not a subject.

  • Very, very sad that such a fine rifle has been deactivated. My dad has an exact same one, still fully functional. I'd cry myself to death if my Mk. 3 had to be deactivated or destroyed. At least the very restrictive laws here (South Africa) aren't yet as bad as the UK's insanely strict gun laws.

  • @rylan76 Please read the annotation at the start of the video before commenting.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I was actually refering to some other person who's comments I have deleted. This message was not directed at anyone personally, it's directed at anyone who may read the comments and will hopefully think twice before posting political comments.

  • @Everyone Can you please stop debating political matters and comparisons between the UK and US gun laws. This video is about the Lee-Enfield rifle, so can you please overlook the fact that its deactivated and just enjoy the video!

    Thank you.

  • wate a waste of a 303. but i guess you can just buy a bolt.

  • @willjohngibbs I think you miss the point, I don't really care if these guns can't shoot. I live less than an hour away from a decent shooting range which is open twice a month, so its no issue for me. Deacts are great because you do not need a locked cabinet and can be displayed anywhere around the house. They are also great for re-enacting or for props. To re-activate this gun, you'd need specialist tools and alot of experience, besides theres no real point, since its illegal and unsafe.

  • @TaZ101SAGA but its still a waste of a fine gun. just because England is messed up now.

  • @willjohngibbs Well your opinion is not my opinion.

  • @TaZ101SAGA so you enjoy living under very very strict gun laws? that you seem like your agreeing with? thats a waist of an enfield and a waist of money

  • @39ctg No I don't enjoy our strict gun laws, but if we can only get deacts than its better than nothing. I personally don't believe it to be a waste of money. Since you live in the US, you have not experienced living in a society such as ours, we are grateful that we can still get anything. I love the history of antique weapons, to me a gun isn't just about shooting it. If your going to troll on my videos then please feel free to leave. I am tired of these kinds of comments.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I've got an update video coming right up.

  • @MrJanesaddiction Many think the Mauser bolt is a better design, but i disagree.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I'm not doubting them. The Mauser action is one of the most successful and most copied mechanisms to date. It was definately a revolutionary step in weapon design. To complete with American lever action rifles, it also had many advantages like being fired more easily from the prone position and its double stack internal magazine, which can be loaded quicker than any tubular magazine. I think the Mauser has a better loading system. But you cant beat a good old Lee-Enfield ;)

  • You seem to really like the enfield family of rifles. I like their large clip capacity.

  • @gungeekgary They are everything i would want from a bolt-action.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Well that's it. It seems to be my personal favorite followed by the k98.

  • @gungeekgary True, I too really like the Mauser family, they are also great but the Enfield's great 'British history' really does it for me. The 10 round magazine is definately an advantage over the Mauser. I wouldn't say no to going to war with one if it was either this or an M16 available.

  • @MrJanesaddiction

I'm on the look out for all the accessories.

Sadly it has been welded so badly that i can't fit a bayonet unless i take a file to it.

  • @MrJanesaddiction

There's a new spec (bolt completely welded) Sterling for sale on Gunstar for £270.

Mine has the bolt cut in half, the business end of the bolt is welded solid, the other half will still move.

Rather pointless if you ask me but quite cool none-the-less.

  • @MrJanesaddiction

New spec, was deactivated last month.

  • Thanks All the same anyway

  • I was kinda askin will they eject

    Does ur bullets eject

    Cn u do a review on it and I'll sub u :)

  • @jamscon13 The video you have just watched is a review, so I dont know where your going with that. The rifle is currently apart so i cant do a video on it until after its been refurbished.

  • So it'll fit

So like u put them in and u can cock it an one will cum out so like a real Lee Enfield

  • @jamscon13 I think you are mistaken, for a start this is a 'real' Lee-Enfield. Also, you cannot chamber a round, but it can eject cartridges.

  • Or chamber them

  • @jamscon13 No, but you can eject them.

  • Can u load fired cartridges

  • I've just picked up a Sterling for £300.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I'll have a look and get back to you if I find it.

  • @MrJanesaddiction Yes, i used fine steel wool to remove tarnish on the trigger guard, I also used beeswax on the stock.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I just had a look and it seems alright but i would prefer it to be an old spec really.

  • @TheRossBeast Technically, there is no point me selling the wood, since i would just have the barrel and other parts left, would be a little pointless.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I used beeswax. Using a dry cloth coat the stock in it lightly and leave for 15 minutes, then buff it for a while until it looks cleaner. Leave it for 2 hours and apply a second coat. After that, rub it with a hot towel and viola!

  • @TaZ101SAGA Can you do the same on the mosin nagant stock?

  • The wood on this looks like its in great condition.

  • @ChasGamez It is indeed, and it looks even better since this video was made, because I've put two coats of preservative wood wax over it.

  • @MrJanesaddiction Oh i got the rifle from an online shop called militarystores.co.uk for £125 and they came to my house to deliver it free of charge for delivery (also came with bayonet, 2 amo pouches, bayonet and sling all for free and deac certificate)! Do you know where you can get a ppsh from?

  • Great video! How much did the rifle cost? i have yet to get one, i already own 2 K98s and a M1 Carbine.

  • @White1Hunter I payed £400 for this rifle, it is in excellent condition and most likely unissued, hence the price.

  • @MrJanesaddiction I have just bought my first deactivated rifle, the Mosin-Nagant! :D

  • @ChasGamez Which factory and which year dated?

  • @TaZ101SAGA It's dated 1943 but i dont know how to find out the factory.

  • @ChasGamez Send me a video of it some time.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Okay i'll try.

  • @MrJanesaddiction Thanks alot for your help! :)

  • im sorry but what is the point of a deactivated firearm and why have one then if it wont fire?

  • @aquosman99 Some of us arent just crazy junkies who want to shoot everything we see. I have always been interested in history, especially military history. I've also always been into historical arms, and i have admired the Lee-Enfield family of rifles since i was small, i always liked the look/handling/history of them. So i am glad to have a great piece of history at my access. These guns really have character, which is something alot of guns dont have. So for that reason, i love having one.

  • @aquosman99 The other thing is they require no licence to purchase, as long as you have the deactivation certifiace (which should be supplied to you by the seller) then its perfectly legal and can be displayed anywhere around the house, as long as it isnt visible from outside, and it doesnt have to be locked in a safe as if it were live firearm. It is not easy to get a live rifle here in England, especially a high-powered one such as this.

  • @MrJanesaddiction Well i was mainly thinking of buying a nagant m1895 revolver first as it is a small weapon. I mainly want an old spec nagant revolver but i can obly find new spec ones on the interent. If you see any good deals please message me back and thanks!

  • @MrJanesaddiction Alright thanks alot for the information and ive found some good deals on the D&B and ill have to look for local arms fairs. Do you know any arms fair in the Medway area?

  • @TheRossBeast Either the whole rifle, or none of it, i dont sell parts.

  • Hi i was watching your video and it has made me want to start collecting deac weapons and i just wanted to ask a few questions. Where do you buy your weapon cleaning kit, where is a good place to buy deac weapons and where do you buy inert rounds? Thanks and keep posting videos! ;)

  • @ChasGamez Check description.

  • If some one is 18 can they order this today and what is the coast plus shipping because I am not going all the way to England just to pick it up and leave plus you cant get on a plain today even if its a non fire because of the laws and what not

  • @HewieOfHG It depends on your country and/or provinces laws. If I were you I'd look them up and understand them thoroughly before attempting to purchase a firearm from overseas.

  • @TaZ101SAGA All i know of the shipping to the united states is in CT you cant have German weapons dilivered but what do you expect we have govner with a meatal pole shoved up her ass hypotheticaly speaking of course

  • @HewieOfHG Well, there is nothing German about this rifle.

  • ok just seen your video on septembers open day, forget the last two comments

  • Just google nra (uk) and look on the calendar and follow the instructions

  • Come to the bisley open day on the 30th april and shoot one for real!

  • @dayshy80 I have already shot a Lee-Enfield a number of times.

  • Im not sure of how gov't in the UK regulates the sales of firearms parts, but in the US you can pick up a new barrel and/or receiver for a good price, because it looks like all of the wood on the stock and the mag, trigger and trigger guard are in great condition so you could just throw on a new barrel or receiver (depending where the welds are) to make it a fully functioning rifle.

  • @ironcross44 You'd also need a new bolt assembly to make this rifle function. The bolt is cut at a 45 degree angle meaning it will have the incorrect headspace length, the firing pin is cut short so it cant protrude out of the bolt face, it is also welded to the inside of the bolt so it cannot be removed. But you are correct in saying that this rifle is in great condition. For some reason the metal looks kind of dull on the video, probably because of the lighting i used. Looks great in person.

  • @TaZ101SAGA oh wow i didn't think they took it to that extent in deactivating rifles. still nice rifle tho i might get a deactivated one to for a wall hanger or something.

  • @ironcross44 Its a shame it cant chamber rounds, but other than that i dont think they've gone too far.

  • Far enough

  • Hey. This is probably being a bit anal but if u want to be really historically accurate u should have a black bakelite oil bottle not the brass. And a white sting pull through. :) just letting u no

  • @condog321 I know, but brass looks nicer. lol.

  • I like how you pull a random cleaning rag out of the butt plate LOL.

  • Sucks that it can't chamber rounds. :(

  • @gungeekgary It can still eject however. Just place the rim of the case between the bolt face and extractor claw and pull the bolt back...Flying brass :)
