@gonehuntin018 I own a Spring Field Gloc 40 xd and there awsome but most dont like hollow point till they have had 600-1000 rounds through and I know this cause the damb thing jammed up the first time I fire a round.
Well, aside from the external grip safety, which has no negative impact, and the trigger safety, which the glock also has, and the slide release, which the glock also has (necessarily of course), the XD has no other unusual levers/buttons, so I suppose they are evenly matched, but if anything, the Glock is less safe due to Glock Kabooms and lack of grip safety.
Glock Kabooms? LOL we call those negligent discharges, finger on the trigger when it wasn't supposed to be. Those still can happen with a grip safety because you are holding the gun when you press the trigger. A grip safety doesnt make a gun safer or not. The only safety a TRAINED individual needs is trigger finger control.
@Haloloden Nah man, I'm referring to the chamber bursting when you use remanufactured ammo in it. Still, turns out that isn't as common an occurance as I had thought.
I have to go with PrimalConcrete on this one, rent both the Glock and the Springfield, see which one you like better, your going to get different opinion any other way, both reliable, XD lifetime warranty, so yeah, try em both and whatever your more comfortable with, and while your shooting picture yourself fighting for your life what shoots like it will save you, whats easy to handle to you.
I own a Springfield .40S&W XD. When these guys talk about how much heavier it is, it is only a couple of onces. That's nothing, plus it allows more control. The XD is one of the smoothest shooting handguns I have ever shot. Glocks are great guns, no doubt, but I would choose what I have already. It just fits me right. The only drawback is that it's a little difficult to adjust the sights. I'd bet my life on it. btw, no 9mms for me. Too whimpy. I would never bet my life with a 9mm.
Unless you are changing the type of sights you have, or you have dropped the weapon and jarred the sights loose. The factory setting is the most accurate you get. If your hits aren't going where you want them to. Its usually the nut behind the bolt.
Personally I would never buy a handgun because everyone knows the name. I have been debating between the G26 & XD sub compact. As well as the G19 & XD Compact. both for carrying weapons. I've done tons of Internet research and got the opinions of local gun shop sales people. For me it boils down to comfort. The XD is much more natural in hand and the trigger pull is allot like that of my current handgun. I'm sold on Springfield. I dont feel the need to be able to say " I have a Glock too".
The XD will never be better than the Glock for a couple reasons. First its much heavier than lets say a Glock 27 (subcompact .40). If you want a pistol with more tan one safety, look at a 1911. Having a weapon as simple as a glock is imperative if you actually have to use the gun in a tense situation... no buttons/levers to mess with, just draw and shoot.
I do like the XD though, its a close 2nd or 3rd to Glock however.
WOW, that remark is completely false. The XD has an external grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, and a cocking indicator. The only levers or buttons might be the slide lock/release and the ambidextrous magazine release.
The GLOCK has NO additional levers or buttons. It is the simplest weapon to use and operate. The only levers or buttons might be the slide lock/release and the right hand only magazine release. So it has FEWER not more than the XD.
@Haloloden Talk about a false remark. He said no extra "levers or buttons". A loaded chamber indicator and a cocking indicator are not LEVERS or BUTTONS... they are tactile indicators. Those two indicators are great low light operation features to have.
Both the tactile features that you are talking about break off the gun and the gun still functions. You could also do a low light chamber check, or what the military call a press check and bet your life on the round in the chamber that you have confirmed with your own finger (tactile enough for you) and not on the $0.30 piece of metal that can break off.
The xd has palm and trigger safeties.... the only reason you wouldnt be able to draw and shoot is if you are holding the gun like an idiot. i compared xd and glock, they were both very nice user friendly guns, but i enjoy a heavier gun. (softer recoil, and they hurt more to be hit in the face with)having a shoulder holster you wont even notice the weight difference while carrying.
This was new, at 550 including case, mag loader, mag holster, tactical holster, and gun lock, plus two 12 round magazines. This is an 07 model, and what I hear is the 08 comes with a safety selector. I'd say go for it either way, but a new one needs to be broken in for easier slide relase.
ok thanks i was offered a new looking used one with 6 mags, holster and soft case for 500. but didn't know if that was a good deal or not.thanks for letting me know.

Also, look at the barrel...when's the last time you saw a 10 mm airsoft gun?

Good for them, it wasn't, so who gives a shit about what they say. Anyway, I sold it, so unfortunately it's no longer mine.

Everyone and ripping on a 9mm... what a joke.
With hollow point bullets, you can do just as much damage as with a regular .45
9mm's are cheaper too.

The XD has fewer levers/buttons than the Glock. Also, I prefer the heavier pistol, better for keeping stable.

The Best one by experience is the xd. One of the most important factors is that it has more saftey features than the glock.

Would you trust your life on the XD? Thinking of getting one with the safety selector once it becomes available here. Thanks

i have and xd9,its a great pistol, but to be honest i would trust my life on a revolver.

Yeah, I would trust my life to it, given the ammo was good quality.
