My kids at school are excited about some left over pieces of plexiglass that were left in the shop we took over and they started etching and painting them. You are an inspiration to me and them. They made mother's day gifts and actually came back to get them after school. I think we will work on some pieces of board next. Thank you for sharing this you are awesome.
Moreover I almost get crazy because I do not found out what kind of cover of "man in the mirror" you play in this film...... hours and hours are gone and I DO NOT FOUND THE RIGHT VERSION!!!!
Thank you! Fabulous! Perhaps you could post your website where people can buy your art on the description. The web address in the video goes by pretty fast.
(CONT'D) Rub the mineral spirits on the oil pastel area and you will notice that it will start to resemble, almost a watercolor-like effect. Let it dry for about 30-60 minutes. Now come back with your cloth dabbed in mineral spirits and choose where you'd like to lighten up some areas. I prefer lightening up the glue area to show the organic lines. Let it dry once again for the same time. Apply varnish. Let varnish dry and now you can work with acrylics on top. I've already done three works :)
Hey Gary! Awesome technique. Just wanted to share one of mine in case you find it interesting. All you need is liquid white glue, oil pastels, mineral spirits, acrylic paint, and varnish. What you do, is start off on a surface, preferably paper or canvas. You squirt the glue in which ever direction you like. Let it dry. Now comes the fun part. Take out your sets of oil pastels and start scribbling over the dry glue. You can now take a cloth and dab it with mineral spirits (CONT'D)
Love, Love, Love your work! :)
