  • That bike is amazing, makes the hairs on my neck stand up! Love it more than a crisp 2stroke

  • I have owned 14 bikes since 1976 . US emission statutes were the beginning of banning 2strokes by legislation. Had zip to do with the market . I can still by a 250 2 stroke , and wish that Suzuki still made the Gamma . ( let alone the Bus ! ) . Brian Crighton had the ROTON RPG588 competing at Philip Island GP in 1992 , and it was BANNED, because certain factories who do NOT hold the liscense to build one were SCARED. And I do NOT like the way FIM rate its capacity .

  • I love the way the intake went up and down with the revs :)

  • my new favorite bike.

  • sooo slim and sleek. just plain awesome

  • Pity they couldn't get it qualified.

  • they need to sell these things in Australia, after only driving Rx-7's i would love to feel a 13b motobike... Any rumours about maybe making them 13b turbo... Bike would be a suicide machine :D

  • It's a nail ! ! Just kidding, the JPS rotary Nortons are my favourite bikes of all time.

  • sounds lusty

  • sonds like sex

  • The Japs will find a way of banning this like they did in the 90s when Steve Spray and Trevor Nation were racing them.

  • @0:52 i love it ;)

  • i know gran turismo tourist trophy game has 2t bikes. does it have hte norton too.

  • nice backfire :)

  • This is amazing. Way better of a street bike than a 4-Stroke. But I would take 2-Stroke over rotary.

  • @TheOfficialKC Lolz

600cc dry weight 134kg 150 hp i would take the rotary

  • @spook187 my bad 170 hp

  • Suter Racing SRT 500 V4:

    500cc, dry weight: 125kg, 200hp. I would take the 2-Stroke.

Not to mention the 2-Stroke also makes far more torque than the rotary.

Nothing against rotary. It kicks 4-Stroke ass. But a 2-stroke would beat it.

  • @TheOfficialKC yea agreed, but 2-strokes last half as long

  • @OlesonFam I disagree. 4-strokes last a good length of time in street bikes. But when it comes to dirt, equally powerful 2-strokes kill them in longevity. In boats the 2-strokes also win in longevity. I am sure a properly designed 2-stroke road bike will outlast the 4-strokes. Maybe not 200hp in a 500cc, but 130hp in a 600cc.

  • @TheOfficialKC Dont like 2-stroke :P

  • @TheOfficialKC

    Let me get this straight.....

    4 stroke > rotary > 2 stroke

And yet all you see anywhere is 4 stroke. Yep, all makes total sense.

  • @kiroc89 It's called racing regulations. If 2-strokes and rotaries were allowed equal rules with 4-strokes in racing, the 4-stroke would not exist.

On top of that 2-strokes haven't been able to meet emissions standards until recently. But that won't cause you to see them, as the big 4 Japanese brands are doing everything to get rid of them to sell their more profitable 4-strokes.

  • @TheOfficialKC

the market will always be the driving force. Noboby wants (you included) a 2 stroke street bike or this rough riding monster, albeit they are awesome and fun to watch. I'll take the benefits of the trickle down engineering from motogp that are not all that insanely different from our street rides. It's still plain fun to watch.

  • @kiroc89 What's wrong with a 2-stroke street bike? Imagine a bike with the same power output as a 1000cc Superbike with 30lbs less weight than a 600. That sounds nice to me.

  • too bad norton went bankrupt cuz this is just beautiful.

  • They didn't go bankrupt. Well they did, a long time ago, but someone bought them and they are making bikes again. Unless they have gone bankrupt very very recently...?

  • is this a rotary engine

  • Yes

  • such a beautiful music.

  • sounds like she was getting a bit warm towards the end,

beautiful sounding bike hopefully they can send a few down under

  • No didnt have ear plugs in was a joy to hear such a fantastic sound

  • what a sound ! did it make your ears bleed or did you have ear plugs in ? I remember stood behind percy taits tz700 while he was reving it in the olds days with open pipes !

  • Beautiful bike, saw it on the parade lap at the TT, sounded awesome. Shame it didn't complete a racing pace lap.

  • Now THAT is music! Keep on with the rotary Norton - you have a winner! :-)

  • Couldn't agree more - let's just hope that Jap teams don't club together and get the rotaries banned like they did before!

  • great post thanks

  • Thanks V much for posting

  • hope she doesnt slip off the rear stand!!!!! aaaahhhhhhhhhh nooooo
