  • Thank you for sharing! I was trying to figure out how to make flowers like the paper ones to put on headbands, and now I know! Thanks again!!

  • Wow what a fab tutorial!!

  • Wow great flower. Where do you get that ribbon at?

  • @scrappinhigh

Thank you! I carry satin ribbon in my Stampin' Up! store. The link to it can be found in the "description" area above.

  • LOVE this! Is the "sticky paper" in the current (2011-2012) idea book?

  • @yelworc02186

Yes, it's still current. It's called Sticky Pages in the "raw materials" for the Big Shot section.

  • Love the flower but wt is the black circle maker called thanks

Circle #2 Die for the Big Shot (#114526)

  • Thanks for sharing this technique. That's a beautiful flower and it takes very little effort to make. I will definitely be trying this.

  • This is a beautiful flower!!! I love the way it "shrinks" around the edges when you apply the heat to the ribbon!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this Dawn, it is amazing!

  • VERY nice Dawn. I like this technique a lot. the flower turned out beautifully. I completely understand what you're saying about how easy it would be to become anal about the way the flower is shaped. that would probably be my biggest downfall to making these.

I noticed you were using stampin' up satin ribbon. does it HAVE to be stampin' up brand satin ribbon or do you think any satin ribbon will work? a place near me sells a wide range of satin ribbon for 50 cents a yard!

  • @friskerbizkit

Another good question. I would think any satin (silky-type) of ribbon would work.

  • Dawn, this is a great project. Your card is so beautiful. Just live your work.

  • Very Pretty!

  • That is really beautiful! Can you explain why there needs to be the notches at every inch? What would happen if you didn't cut the ribbon? Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @dmholton

Good question! You could probably do it without the notches. Though, you would have to use more ribbon as it would require more "scrunching" to make the ribbon go around in a circle. Hope that makes sense. It would probably give it a different look to. Hmm...now I'm wondering what it would look like.
