VERY nice Dawn. I like this technique a lot. the flower turned out beautifully. I completely understand what you're saying about how easy it would be to become anal about the way the flower is shaped. that would probably be my biggest downfall to making these.
I noticed you were using stampin' up satin ribbon. does it HAVE to be stampin' up brand satin ribbon or do you think any satin ribbon will work? a place near me sells a wide range of satin ribbon for 50 cents a yard!
That is really beautiful! Can you explain why there needs to be the notches at every inch? What would happen if you didn't cut the ribbon? Thank you so much for sharing.
Good question! You could probably do it without the notches. Though, you would have to use more ribbon as it would require more "scrunching" to make the ribbon go around in a circle. Hope that makes sense. It would probably give it a different look to. Hmm...now I'm wondering what it would look like.
Thank you for sharing! I was trying to figure out how to make flowers like the paper ones to put on headbands, and now I know! Thanks again!!

LOVE this! Is the "sticky paper" in the current (2011-2012) idea book?

Yes, it's still current. It's called Sticky Pages in the "raw materials" for the Big Shot section.

This is a beautiful flower!!! I love the way it "shrinks" around the edges when you apply the heat to the ribbon!!

Another good question. I would think any satin (silky-type) of ribbon would work.
