my sister was named kira after this movie, so ive loved it ever since i was really litte, the ending song was always my favorite, but everything else is great too :)
i think you have to be a very special person to love this movie...its odd, but gorgeous.. the muses coming out of the wall haunts me..i like to always think it me and the girls who have meant alot to me..i think its fantastic and if i was a millonaire would get one of my walls painted..of course i'm kira, but my most important 8 girls in my life next to me, my muses
does anyone know where I can see this entire dancing scene of the sisters on youtube?? I found one, but it has another song put to it, and it just isn't the same!!!
I saw xanadu when i was 10 and loved it, too. Especially this scene -- loved it. saw it a few years ago for the first time in over 20 years and still loved it, despite the patchy storyline. it's a fairy-tale with great music and can be appreciated for what it is. great memories!
Absolutly !!! I was 10 yrs old when i 1st saw this movie back in 1980. My mom was a huge Elecric Light Orchestra fan......she's the one that turned me on to this movie and the music of ELO.
Damn i miss the 70's & 80's .......just that it seems like it was so much more easier back then.
This is the first movie to use CG. A primitive form of CG using light and neon. The three major technological areas of advances are within the realms of machine, light and computer. These realms of technology also constitute the three categories in Kinetic Fine Art: Machine Aesthetic, Light Aesthetic, and Computer Aesthetic. So this movie predates even TRON for using computer effects.
No..the actual first movie to use cgi is The Last Star fighter 1984 when they used it for the planets. The I'm Alive scene in Xanadu is what inspired me to write my first animation screenplay and book. I continue to use it as inspiration to this day!
And you have to be high to misspell "you". Really, grow up child of 1999'. I'm from 91' and love this stuff, I'm guessing you don't like anything from the 80s either right?
@Shiratsuname grrrr., don't you just hate it when people say that they don't watch anything or listen to anything from before they were born? That's so frigging narrow minded and ludicrous it makes me want to tear my hair out. Nobody younger than 40 would listen to the Beatles. so stupid

Negative Retro. Logan's Run was the first to use the CG. It was his, "There is nooo Sanctuary."

No, Tron in 1982 used CGI and in the same year Star Trek II used CGI to show the Genesis effect on a planet.
