  • @hemptime123 Not sure is racist, or just very stupid.

  • Wie geil

  • here you would pronounce "Käfig": "Kehfich". And "Identität": "Identiteht".

  • omg wie sagstn du käfig?

  • so n bullshit

Go to "Google Translate" ;)

  • @ghostjedi1

    macht doch gar keinen sinn!

  • the way you said" kafig" is like how are you in arabic :]

  • Hey!

I would like to (ad) ...sorry... @ ...no ...add an example:

Teaching americans the Ä is simple:

the "bear" is the german "bär"...

think of this next time you see an Ä and everything turns out fine..

    Herman the German

    (kidding)

  • what would be the best way to learn german??

I was thinking about learn german in college

    what do you think ?

I'm finishing high school in june

  • @bassjorge i guess the best way is to go to the country & hang out with natives if you can do that - the longer the better. really can't give you any advice on colleges & other institutions, i'm just someone in germany who made some german learning videos by request, not a teacher :) don't want to sound rude here but I know nothing about studying languages except for english.

try to get to know germans you can (video)chat with. good luck! :)

  • Jugendkriminalität easy to prnounce thanks to Deutsch Klasse :D

  • wow , two cameras!! awesome!

  • Hey can you show the difference between Ä and E, they both sound the same to me.

  • @rlbond oh yes, i understand. i will have to look for good examples first and find a little time to make a video. probably gonna send you a sound file first.

  • @assbach It sound equally for u because it is a mixture of a and e ae=ä. If u say a+ e at the same time u say ä xD

  • @rlbond In German, they indeed sound very much the same. In Swedish, Finnish, Estonian, etc, Ä pronounces like A in "apple", "asshole" or "amber".

  • @rlbond at ä the mouth is more opened then at e

  • @rlbond You must speak german without a big accent. Otherwise you cannot really hear a difference between ä and e. It really sounds pretty similar, but if you dont mix them up, there probably will be same missunderstandings ;)

  • balls against ur chin

  • alle English Hier xDD

  • @TheFilmMacher You spelled English wrong xD In German it is "Englisch."

  • do germans use the word "hatte" or "gehabt" more when saying "i had"?

  • @grassholla it depends on the tense - what do you wanna say?

  • @assbach something like i had german class last year. or i had a dog but he died. thanks for replying

  • @assbach thank you very much.

  • I'm so glad you laughed when you said Jugendkriminalität cuz i know i did

  • ohh whatta cutie :)

  • I have a question. How come in the song Haifisch by Rammstein when he says the word Tränen it sounds like he say it with the english long A sound like in the word train? here's the link

    youtube.com/watch?v=cWT--M7Qci0

  • @grassholla mhm, the way he sings it is the way the word is pronounced. but rammsteins singer does in fact pronounce everthing very hard. actually no one talks like this here. it's some kind of exaggeration i think. something like his own style.

  • @assbach ok, i understand. thank you for clearing that up. i think he sings like that because he's trying to make it sound harsh because they are a metal band so that's kind of like the image they are trying to project. i love their music by the way.

  • @grassholla not really or only.... the accent reminds of how some nazis used to speak. i guess that is why some people think that rammstein is racist. idk

  • @assbach that's why they wrote the song "links 2 3 4"

  • @grassholla ah, i see

  • Yäs thäts the dschörmän Ä. :D

  • haha =) and.... jugendkriminalität...! XD

    sau gut! =)

  • Danke, ich liebe zu ooom.

  • ääääÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

  • you´re cute.. shit! what?? yungerideditveritat¿

  • Hallo seit wann lernst du schon Deutsch?

    Daniel Marx, waschbärundotter (from Germany)

  • @WaschbaerundOtter seit ca 36 Jahren würde ich sagen. Ich bin Deutscher ;)

  • @assbach xDDD

  • balls... LOL

  • @emowreck23 pervert:D

  • This sounds almost exactely the same as swedishXD

    soo...yeah.. very easy to learnXD

  • Just like:

E in in the English word "met"

    and E in Spanish

  • One that decides to quit learning, is allowing their "little grey cells" to become lazy... Regardless of what you wish to learn...

  • jugendkriminalität XD

haben wir grad in der schule xD

    loliges video.....

Hilft bestimmt so einigen!

  • nice work. but could you pause the subtitles for little long. danke

  • The sound made saying Ä sounds quite a bit like the ê in être in French. At least to my ear it sounds that way. Anyone else agree?

  • yes, almost like the french "ê" but the ä is "longer", i think the "ê" has just a very short spoken sound.

  • @auggiedoggy its right!:) (i am from germany...)

  • When I hear how you pronounce these words, the umlauted A sounds sort of like the English e in "egg" or the ey in "H-ey". Is this correct?

  • yes almost like in "egg" but I wouldn't agree to "hey". actually this was just a fun video for my daily video project. i should have made better examples and try harder to pronounce it so you understand better :)

  • you could also say that the english "air" and the ending "are" can be compared to the german "ä".

    like you say:

fair, compare, aware, care, flair, affair, share, temporaire

  • not such dufficult words böser deutscher :P

  • Thanks! I just started learning. Your videos do help though. When I move to Ansbach with family I'll have a better grasp on sounds. But I am so far away from anything coherent. Kann ich bitte einen keks haben... you see, I can't even spell!!! At least I won't go hungry. I'll be full on cookies. Haha. I'll keep watching ur videos. If you have any pointers on daily life or anything in Ansbach, or Germany for that matter, please share! Danke

  • Learning German also. I speak English and Spanish. There is a slight resemblance of German and Spanish. But my mind and ears can't seem to pick up the Umlaut sounds. I have to practice. Thanks for the videos!

  • watching 00:18

  • geeee you are awesome ^^

  • hahah, thank you ;)

  • AND : jugendkriminalität !

  • You see, every other nation has learned our English language. Even if they don't speak it correctly, they at least make the effort, which is admirable. The English language is universal, true, but why shouldn't all english speakers make the effort to learn a different language? German is a good place to start!

  • @katana8891 yep, english speakers should learn other languages, especially considering how freaking insane english is- silent 'e's? what are you, high?

  • @katana8891 I totally agree that more Americans should make an effort to learn a foreign language. However, I disagree with the assessment that every other nation "has learned or make an effort to learn" English. In Germany, it is compulsory to learn another language but not all German's speak even half-way decent English. Far more than Americans speaking German for sure but not every German can carry on a two minute conversation with an American- at least not when I was there.

  • @j77walker I think this is due to the split school system in Germany. On the Gymnasium you have two learn two foregin lanugages and after that you'll be able to speak and understand them fluently(e.g. watch English shows). In the 'Realschule' you only have to learn one, and will be able to hold a fluent conversation. On the 'Hauptschule' you theoretically learn one foreign language, but I doubt(no offense to anyone) that many of them will be able to really express themselves in English.

  • @ClarissasAngle

    really?

your grandma was in war? ..suprize since the war was on german ground

what ever... guido is to old, too - besides he is dumb - but we germans gotta learn english since years and not since decates.. so we just gotta accept that guido is dumb AND doesn't speak english

    Herman the german

    (kidding)

  • @schizotriblesix ich bin doch auch deutsch! :D

    LG

    Clarissa :)

  • @katana8891 if you want to learn some REAL german visit our channel and watch "The German Class" ;)
