your playing the right hand when the right hand is the melody, but also when the left hand is supposed to be the melody. ik some ppl here say its good, but u need more practice. the melody is supposed to be going back and forth like a conversation. the 8th notes are supposed to be staccato and silent while the other hand plays the 16 notes. the is what back is knows for...so work on ur voicing thxs:) if u would play that at a competition, i'm sorry but you would fail.
@pianogirlshopaholic Good thing you don't need to know how to spell "Bach" correctly in order to play Bach correctly. "the is what back is knows for..." what?
Your advice is probably not bad, but your spelling is absurdly bad, to the point where I can only imagine someone spelling worse than you if they tried to do it on purpose.
@kwkmgrrl08 Music schools grade pieces for students so they can progress through the grade system and take exams and earn certificates toward a degree. For example, I study with the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and they have 10 "levels." (They have changed the terminology to levels from the old grades). This is a brief explanation.
@MusicClassical1 If you really think that speed is the most important I think you're making a mistake. If teachers that make the exam are really good, believe me that speed is not most important to them. The work that a good teacher should see is other. If you mean a "tip " to hasten, the best is a good fingering, not trying to memorize and do it slowly. Notes essential things like the video above, a clear error in the bar one: He does't see the second note (A) of the left takes 1/4 ...
@MusicClassical1 then..., or the last note of bar 6 (C) of the right hand takes 1 / 8, it is clear that given the same value as another. Do not make those mistakes are what make the difference. Rapid and poorly played a bad idea. Good luck.
This was pretty good. I'm doing this for my grade 8 exam and I'm having a hard time fguring out the fingering parts (since i started off with the wrong fingering, its even harder now to fix it up) The only part that wasn't so good in the video was in bar 12, the left hand and right hand weren't in sinc. The right hand was speeding up while the left hand was desprately trying to catch up, making the song sound somewhat rushed
the audio is a bit late :( for those who can play music like me it hurts my eyes when I follow your performance :(, nice work anyway. BTW, the ending is slower than expected, but it's okay if it was your style
@InformationPollution My comment was not snide or overly critical. I gave my opinion in a civil manner, much like people on the other pages had, as well as without spewing vulgarities or profanities- or calling names.
I would like 2 hear more of the left hand melody, and more of shaping the phrases. Also, i'd like to hear it on a grand piano. Either than that, I like it.
@koolkitten29 That's a year ago now sooo . . any tips?? I'm only starting this now! It's so annoying having to concentrate when to switch between staccato and legato!
You pretty much got it. Begin now to focus on phrasing and you'll really hear life breathing in the song. I'd be interested in hearing it again in the future.
Very nice! Keep going, you are on the right treck. As for the left hand technique, don't worry - Bach himself was a very good tutor. Just keep playing ALL the 2 part inventions, and proceed to the 3 part. I suggest to keep both your hands (and shoulders) more flexible, espec. during the playing itself, even if this will slow the tempo.
I'm not a pianist.. i play every now and then.. and ive tried this on piano.. it's not too bad.. just practice one hand at a time, which is what i did.. although the obvious lack of left hand technique.. i was able to manage a decent sounding play after a couple hours..
Just practice slow get the notes down pat then start to increase speed.
I totally agree with you and am not arguing but i just thought of something today. Since it is not the time when baroque music was written, are we allowed to interpret the music in a more modern style? I think this would upset certain people, but do you believe this would neccissarily be wrong. I was just wondering since i haven't done much baroque music and am starting to play more of it.
great! i was wondering though, is this at minimum speed? i just started learning this song and would like to know what minimum speed would sound like :)
He palyed it ok i thiink i just got finished learning this song and from what ive experienced he is leaving alot of interpertation out. make it yours it just sounds like a bunch of notes, music is more than that. be creative with emotion!!
Which do you think is better for developing skill, this or Hanon's Virtuoso Pianist in 60 exercises?I have already completed Hanon and I am wondering if I should learn Bach's Two Part Inventions.
Hard to say :) I have not practiced enough Hannon (only few first exercises) so cannot really share my experience in this area. Suggest to raise this question on piano forum. Cheers.
@RemyClavell They are very different skills. Bach challenges you with very independent movement of the left and right hands - major work for brain and coordination. Hanon challenges you with finger exercises, and traditional ways of getting around the keyboard, scales in thirds, arpeggios, octaves, etc. All valuable stuff.
2,5 years, well done :) ThU

you can easily tell the difference between a piano and a keyboard thats a keyboard.its just not the same
psherminator 3 years ago 3
Don't bet on that..
It actually depends on the make, year and the type of synthesizer the keyboard has..
You CAN be fooled by a keyboard..
And already have been..
So don't judge them by just one type...
Most what you hear on the radio and movies now a days are keyboards and synthesizers..
Yet you would think it was all orchestra and bands.. And you would not say you can tell the difference.. because you can't..

there aren't actually any tempo markings on any of bach's inventions.
he also didn't write any dynamics on them.
so it leaves you to interpret it however you would like.
