  • 2,5 years, well done :) ThU

    Thomas

  • Nice to listen to version

  • now why can't i play it like that? o_O

  • I like it! Inventions aren't easy, and you've done some really good work. :-)

  • @adam873873873 if you're worried about spelling and such, it is a spelling bee** not be.

  • your playing the right hand when the right hand is the melody, but also when the left hand is supposed to be the melody. ik some ppl here say its good, but u need more practice. the melody is supposed to be going back and forth like a conversation. the 8th notes are supposed to be staccato and silent while the other hand plays the 16 notes. the is what back is knows for...so work on ur voicing thxs:) if u would play that at a competition, i'm sorry but you would fail.

  • @pianogirlshopaholic And for the love of god work on your spelling. If you were in a grade four spelling be you would fail. "thxs :)"

  • @pianogirlshopaholic so you're saying that someone who's been playing for only 2.5 years needs more practice... that's a big surprise

  • @pianogirlshopaholic Good thing you don't need to know how to spell "Bach" correctly in order to play Bach correctly. "the is what back is knows for..." what?

Your advice is probably not bad, but your spelling is absurdly bad, to the point where I can only imagine someone spelling worse than you if they tried to do it on purpose.

  • Great Playing! Congratulations!

  • This is sooo nice!!

  • My friend and I played this as a clarinet duet. c: Very nice.

  • Good job.... i'm having such a difficult time playing this!

  • Good job.... i'm having such a difficult time playing this!

  • ahhhmmmm wheres the replay button.......im serious.... :L

  • Dis should be played faster but nice.

  • I think you have done a very good job of playing this piece. I am working on it, and is very challenging.

  • guys - what's all this grade 6 grade 8 nonsense? (what are these "grades"?)

oh and, I just finished playing this piece, I love it. Good job! x

  • @kwkmgrrl08 Music schools grade pieces for students so they can progress through the grade system and take exams and earn certificates toward a degree. For example, I study with the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and they have 10 "levels." (They have changed the terminology to levels from the old grades). This is a brief explanation.

  • Im just starting to play this piece for my Grade 6 piano exam. Any tips on how to practice and speed it up?? It's actually not that hard!

  • @MusicClassical1 If you really think that speed is the most important I think you're making a mistake. If teachers that make the exam are really good, believe me that speed is not most important to them. The work that a good teacher should see is other. If you mean a "tip " to hasten, the best is a good fingering, not trying to memorize and do it slowly. Notes essential things like the video above, a clear error in the bar one: He does't see the second note (A) of the left takes 1/4 ...

  • @MusicClassical1 then..., or the last note of bar 6 (C) of the right hand takes 1 / 8, it is clear that given the same value as another. Do not make those mistakes are what make the difference. Rapid and poorly played a bad idea. Good luck.

  • This was pretty good. I'm doing this for my grade 8 exam and I'm having a hard time fguring out the fingering parts (since i started off with the wrong fingering, its even harder now to fix it up) The only part that wasn't so good in the video was in bar 12, the left hand and right hand weren't in sinc. The right hand was speeding up while the left hand was desprately trying to catch up, making the song sound somewhat rushed

  • The difference between forte and piano sounds a bit artificial, but for the rest the piano sound is better than I expected! Love, Esmeralda

  • Perfect sound quality and perfect performer!

  • if people are playing this for grade 8 why the hell am i playing it at grade 6? D:

  • im playing this for Kuwanis festival

  • Grade 8? holy god, grade 6 for life!!!

  • Wow I played this for my grade 8 exam. Why are people playing it for 6? o_o I play out of the RCM books.

  • ha igot the same pno, yamaha clavinova rite

  • hey, i can play this!

  • Commodore 64! I remember this music from the old TV ads.

  • i play this too! i'm 12 and have been playing for 7 years. please check it out on my channel and tell me what you think of it! :D

  • amazing.. post a tutorial, pls... :)

  • It takes a lot of finger control XO

  • the audio is a bit late :( for those who can play music like me it hurts my eyes when I follow your performance :(, nice work anyway. BTW, the ending is slower than expected, but it's okay if it was your style

  • simply amazing

  • Great Job!

  • suena muy bien

  • Not a terribly difficult piece, but one of my favorite inventions. Love the sequences.

  • This is nice... but I cant play it like that...

  • I noticed that you slowed down around the minute mark, in addition to a ritardando at the very end. I don't think it added to the song.

  • I noticed you're being a prick to someone you don't know on the internet.

I don't think you add much to the species.

  • @InformationPollution My comment was not snide or overly critical. I gave my opinion in a civil manner, much like people on the other pages had, as well as without spewing vulgarities or profanities- or calling names.

  • I remember way back (8 years ago, I'm only 13, XD) when I heard this song on Treasure Math Storm... Arrghh, the nostalgia! Thanks for making my day!

  • This is great!

  • I would like 2 hear more of the left hand melody, and more of shaping the phrases. Also, i'd like to hear it on a grand piano. Either than that, I like it.

  • technincally very correct, but sent me to sleep...

  • The key signature is easy but the speed makes it difficult to play, i think

  • im doin this for my grade 6 too ! god hopefully ill be able to perform it the way you did!

  • @koolkitten29 haha, me too, but 4 my grade 8 RCM Examination

  • @koolkitten29 That's a year ago now sooo . . any tips?? I'm only starting this now! It's so annoying having to concentrate when to switch between staccato and legato!

  • @koolkitten29 this is in my grade 5 book 0.0 what organisation is hosting your exam> (i am doing AMEB piano for leisure)

  • well played.... i'm learning this piece.... :)

  • doing this for my grade 6 :)

  • @mattynudin

    grade 8 8-)

  • I played it for my grade 6 a few months ago

  • This has a Halloween feeling to it, that is exactly why I have choosen to have in my 2009 Halloween Repertoire.

  • Yamaha CLP 230, the sound come via MIDI / Steinberg The Grand Piano 2

  • i love this song

    you play fantastically

  • This is a perfect version of this piece! Great job!

  • lovely.

  • You pretty much got it. Begin now to focus on phrasing and you'll really hear life breathing in the song. I'd be interested in hearing it again in the future.

  • I'm learning this song at the moment. Really hard.

  • very nice, i am trying to learn it in two weeks for an audition tho ugh!

  • I'm also learning this for the Grade 6 RIAM and if I can play it half as well in the exam as you can, I'll be delighted!

  • Wow! I'm playing it for the Grade 8 RCM.

  • Me too! I have so many mistakes though...

  • grade 8 i thought this song is a grade 6 song well im doing it for grade 6 anyway;)

  • gr 5, sir. :)

  • OMG ME TOO! And i'm doing this song. What other songs are you doing now?

  • Me too! I can't sleep I'm so worried about having to play for the Grade 6 exam haha I still haven't gotten my pieces finished! Eep

  • very good pianist!

  • Very nice! Keep going, you are on the right treck. As for the left hand technique, don't worry - Bach himself was a very good tutor. Just keep playing ALL the 2 part inventions, and proceed to the 3 part. I suggest to keep both your hands (and shoulders) more flexible, espec. during the playing itself, even if this will slow the tempo.

  • I'm doing this on grade 6 Royal Irish Acedemy of Music. It's really hard as the song progresses. Any tips??

  • You just have to practice a lot..

Look at your notes.. and really study them..

I'm not a pianist.. i play every now and then.. and ive tried this on piano.. it's not too bad.. just practice one hand at a time, which is what i did.. although the obvious lack of left hand technique.. i was able to manage a decent sounding play after a couple hours..

Just practice slow get the notes down pat then start to increase speed.

  • :O someone should really make a tutorial about this... =]

  • i'm really jealous of pple who can play this song, whenever i play this, i kept thinking about my viola notes... -_-"

  • its so hard on string instruements!!!

  • I totally agree with you and am not arguing but i just thought of something today. Since it is not the time when baroque music was written, are we allowed to interpret the music in a more modern style? I think this would upset certain people, but do you believe this would neccissarily be wrong. I was just wondering since i haven't done much baroque music and am starting to play more of it.

  • Good Clarity and tempo. Nice!

  • you can easily tell the difference between a piano and a keyboard thats a keyboard.its just not the same

  • Don't bet on that..

It actually depends on the make, year and the type of synthesizer the keyboard has..

You CAN be fooled by a keyboard..

    And already have been..

So don't judge them by just one type...

Most what you hear on the radio and movies now a days are keyboards and synthesizers..

Yet you would think it was all orchestra and bands.. And you would not say you can tell the difference.. because you can't..

  • This is very solid, I found your tempo slowed down a bit at the end thought, otherwise, your articulation was quite consistant. Great playing

  • great! i was wondering though, is this at minimum speed? i just started learning this song and would like to know what minimum speed would sound like :)

  • i played this last year in a music festival.

i just love it. i can't get enough. EVER.

you played it really well i thought.

  • He palyed it ok i thiink i just got finished learning this song and from what ive experienced he is leaving alot of interpertation out. make it yours it just sounds like a bunch of notes, music is more than that. be creative with emotion!!

  • O I really liked this

  • couple boo-boos with the left hand, noticable solid articulation otherwise, and pleasant tone that many don't have in playing these/ this.

  • Very nice... I did one too... check it out... you can see the tattoos on my hands...ha ha.. bach invention Colin...

  • very nice. I am recording this piece with a bayan. soon will be posted. best regard

  • Which do you think is better for developing skill, this or Hanon's Virtuoso Pianist in 60 exercises?I have already completed Hanon and I am wondering if I should learn Bach's Two Part Inventions.

  • Hard to say :) I have not practiced enough Hannon (only few first exercises) so cannot really share my experience in this area. Suggest to raise this question on piano forum. Cheers.

  • @RemyClavell They are very different skills. Bach challenges you with very independent movement of the left and right hands - major work for brain and coordination. Hanon challenges you with finger exercises, and traditional ways of getting around the keyboard, scales in thirds, arpeggios, octaves, etc. All valuable stuff.

  • is this sposed 2 be this fast?

  • this is awesome!!

    ur great at playing!

  • good playing regardless

  • is this sposed 2b this fast?

  • there aren't actually any tempo markings on any of bach's inventions.

he also didn't write any dynamics on them.

so it leaves you to interpret it however you would like.

  • modern dynamics such as staccato don't belong in this piece. sounds better played without them.

  • good!!..

  • Nice;D ive been looking for this song everywhere, good job!

  • Good!!!

  • the sound is delayed... amf

  • Nice!

  • You are truly a pianist.

  • Excellent!

This was used in Children of Bodom's Red light in my eyes part 1 for any metal fans who happened onto this

  • me! just gettin me some music edumaction.

  • It looks we're all brothers! HAHA
