  • @larry89 If cooked properly, the texture is soft, kinda like shrimp.

    They are wonderful. Expect some grittiness. For whatever reason, the scallops I have had have always had a bit of grit to them. BUT, the flavor is worth every bit. Do them, I do not believe you will be disappointed. Kinda like lobster medallions if you can imagine that.

  • CHEF JOHN, it would be greatly appreciated if you could make a tempura dish with tentsuyu (tempura dipping sauce). shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura and so on.

  • this dish will kill me if I don't remove all the jalapenos and cayenne. Almost all of your recipes contain spicy things, so I have to de-spice/capsicum everything so I don't die xD sucks, wish I knew how spiciness tasted like without having to almost die. ]:

  • now i'm curius...... i'll have to hunt down scallops to taste them, i dont even know the name for them in spanish (and i live in a spanish speaking contry). abouth the dressing.... i dont do jalapeño, i dont like them, to spicy-hot, but if you say they are mild i will give them a try..... if i dont like it then i'm sure my mom will.

  • @Itsnameisgundam When it's overcooked, it gets rubbery and hard. This wasn't overcooked. You can see it's still soft. And it needs to be fresh of course.

    and they were horribly overcooked and it was my first scallop ever.

    Now when I see scallops, all I think about is those disgusting rubbery scallops...

    Do you think I could ever recover from such a tragedy?
