I just think its funny that everyone keeps thinking this is all his (Trent's) project. This is MARIQUEEN'S project that Trent and Atticus happen to be in on (as far as I'm concerned). Her vocals, her on synthesizer. All Trent is doing is producing for the most part. Just because you're a NIN fan, it doesn't mean you have to be a HTDA fan. Get the fuck over it.

@Pridefulpain YOU! Calm yourself. I miss stuff like the Downward Spiral, as much as anyone else. All I do is HOPE that they'll make something that great together. HTDA is a newborn band, and it still has room for potential. And btw, without Trent........HTDA wouldnt even be known whatsoever. So shove it, kid. Mariqueen's good, but Trent has changed the music industry with his talent. Ask any NIN fan, and they'll tell you. We all hope HDTA will be as good as NIN. It'll just take time. :D

@thepeacepenguin They wont ever make anything as great as Downward Spiral. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Mariqueen. Poor choice for vocals (even poorer choice of wife, but meh), but it doesn't change the fact that this is her project. HTDA will never be NIN. Period. To expect it to be would be in poor taste. If they wanted it to be NIN they would have released a new NIN album instead. And really subtract Trent from the equation and I'm sure Atticus would have as many people listening.

Almost all promo photos with him have his back turned to the camera, and I think the video for The Space ... is kind of a message to NIN fans (him lying dead on the floor). Cryptic, but I wouldn't expect anything less. I would LOVE to hear more of him on vocals, but preferably without MQ lol. Kind of hoping this is just a mid-life crisis for Mr. Reznor.

And the lyrics, All the blood lying on the floor, then cut to the lyrics of All the Love In the World, it looks as though the past is here to stay I've become a million miles away... and that song is a love song, a million miles away could explain why he is dead on the floor. He hides so much in his music, I think something deeper is in this his music.

The man is semi-retired. He sold most of his musical equipment from his website, and his concert tickets sell more than 100 dollars a pop. He can afford to give away incoherent nonsense. Plus, someone who is constantly changing his persona, doesn't think much about the music, but what will only sell in the music market. "Year Zero", was his biggest flop. I wonder who he was mocking in the song "Capital G". He sold himself.

You see 'selling out', I see growth and change. It's one thing to be an angry, depressed, disaffected youth. It's another thing entirely to be that when you're 40. Getting worse or getting better, the only thing that would have really been sad is staying the exact same.

Just big enough to do what the fuck he wants without worrying about conforming to the needs of ANYONE, including fans who are unwilling to view progress or change as a necessary thing. Trent has always been about self-expression. I can't relate to this nearly as much as I can his NIN works, mostly, but... it's still very good. I love his wife's voice. It's an excellent combo. If you don't like it, or anyone else, they can stop buying and listening, dammit.
