  • Stunning New Research: "Placement of a gastric band appears to be a disservice"

"The placement of a gastric band appears to be a disservice to many morbidly obese patients and therefore, in the current culture of evidence based medicine, the prevalent use of laparoscopic gastric banding can no longer be justified. " Dr. Guller from Toronto, Canada. Furthermore, they state: "There is mounting and convincing evidence that gastric banding is suboptimal at best. "

  • After all the success stories from the lapband I still feel safe having it done. Any surgery has its risks. I have noticed that more problems have came from patients that go to Mexico. I know there's people that have went there and been fine, I'm just sayin...At least b4 u go to Mexico find a Dr. that will do follow up care (which I would think everyone having the surgery would need). Like she said no one would touch here after having the surgery done in Mexico. Soooo who does the fills???

  • My sister in law is fighting for her life after a botch lap band surgery in Prague.

  • I know multiple people that have had bands for 7-10 years and they have NOT failed. It is user error if the band slips or you throw up.

And who the crap goes to Mexico for anything, you should of done research before going ther. No surgeon in the USA will touch a mexico patient.
