I agree with the posters, Charice do this song much better then Amy. Just wish she hadn't tried to copy Amys sound when recording the first single... she does the song much better now when she does it her own style. (just compare official single and live shows of later date and you'll hear it!)
I'm not sure I remember someone else singing this song earlier than Amy. I do like her version 'coz, besides that it really fits in her situation, the song indicates and imparts its new and fresh discovery & it's through Amy. Amy is gradually just beginning to discover herself and the song itself & she's already good. It's barely green from a distant and the lyrics still need to be expounded in its future. Amy seems to connect with the song better, her version is more soulful.'love the timbre and sweet tone of her voice. Charice's version is more optimistic, you think of sunshine and butterflies when your hear it - a mood lifter. Both singers are great. Charice is a natural powerful belter. Amy owns this song however. Original singers of songs it seems are almost always picked intuitively, making them the best interpreter of the song/s.

This is Amy Diamond, a swedish singer that much like Charice started singing at a young age. Amy recorded 'it can only get better' for her studio album 'Still Me Still Now' in may 2006.
I agree with the posters, Charice do this song much better then Amy. Just wish she hadn't tried to copy Amys sound when recording the first single... she does the song much better now when she does it her own style. (just compare official single and live shows of later date and you'll hear it!)

I'm not sure I remember someone else singing this song earlier than Amy. I do like her version 'coz, besides that it really fits in her situation, the song indicates and imparts its new and fresh discovery & it's through Amy. Amy is gradually just beginning to discover herself and the song itself & she's already good. It's barely green from a distant and the lyrics still need to be expounded in its future. Amy seems to connect with the song better, her version is more soulful.'love the timbre and sweet tone of her voice. Charice's version is more optimistic, you think of sunshine and butterflies when your hear it - a mood lifter. Both singers are great. Charice is a natural powerful belter. Amy owns this song however. Original singers of songs it seems are almost always picked intuitively, making them the best interpreter of the song/s.

Theres nothing wrong with doing a cover of a song BUT theres something wrong when you do a cover of a song and then say it was written for you and then on top of that say it is an original song.So if Charice wants to do another cover in the future I suggest she should be honest and just says its a cover and doesnt come out and say its an original song.Amy Diamond has never released a cover and this song was written for Amy so that makes her the original singer.

BTW a singer is a singer whether you sing originals or cover songs. It's not as if Charice is claiming to be a singer/comploser. I'm sure all the top recording artists today started out as cover singers.
