Oh and my mother didn't force me into it. She informed me about the procedure when I was 8 and about the reasons for doing so (religion). I accepted her full disclosure and agreed to the procedure. I've seen European statistics supporting exactly that. Again, though, health benefits aren't the only factor. Religion sometimes plays a role too. Personally, I think a circumcised one is just easier, and it looks better. (There's a story involved here, but I'm not going into it.) But that part is just my opinion.

Dave, consider this though. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. A LOT of people assume that if you take some nerve endings, then you won't be able to experience as much pleasure. However, uncut guys have dramatically higher rates of premature ejaculation (aprox 20%) . We have all been or heard of guys that can be barely touched before cumming. So there is that benefit. There are also others but who has time?

What is important here is that it is hygienic. All they way to baptism vs. circumcision. I would circumcise you may not. Clean it or cut it. Sex and sexuality for a men does not end with or with out it. And circumcision does half the spread of diseases like HIV, but more so in less hygienic places that have less available water.

Smegma is a cellection of the secretions exuded by the mucus membranes on the head of the penis and inside the foreskin ...it helps lubricate, moisten, and protect the glans of the penis...it will not fuse the foreskin to the head of the penis and is easily cleaned away in the shower.

You have no idea whether circumcision desensitizes the head of the penis! No-one can tell that. I have friends who have been circumcised as an adult and they are really not complaining. Even if true, the desensitizing issue would simply give you greater endurance during sex - surely a good thing. I completely agree. I'm from the UK, and it's only really done here (as in most countries) for religious reasons, so it's really strange to think it's so common in the US. Circumcision actually started as a completely religious thing. Abraham was told by God to circumcise himself, his household and his slaves as an everlasting covenant in their flesh. However, originally, it wasn't the entire removal of the foreskin. Modern day circumcision is rather extreme compared to the original circumcisions. (Sorry for pulling out my religious knowledge... I just wanted to clear some things up :))
I'm uncut and I love it. When I was a baby, my Mother was going to circumcise me, and when the doctor talked to her, they explained to her that it was just unnecessary pain, and desensitizing me. The only benefit was it was 'easier' to clean, but like Davey said.. the extra 5 seconds it takes to clean it is worth it. Foreskin can sometimes be a health concern. It's not just cleaning. Sometimes guys (like me) get phimosis which means you can't even pull the skin back because it's too tight. Or like sometime, when having sex and you have very rough sex and grind too hard, you can cut the skin or tear the frenulum and need some surgery.
when they're hard they look the same, except intact feels much better, and when cut guys get into their 50s o_o its so dry and rough, poor penis heads.. lacking the protection of the foreskin for that long...i just realized that most circumcised guys dont have a frenulum !!??! omg thats like the most sensitiver part! the cleanliness argument is beyond laughable

I actually enjoy the fact that I'm circumcised (although, true, not my decision). It does not at all take anything away from the sexual experience, in fact it makes it less uncomfortable (sex it's amazing, but let's face it! it does have some uncomfortable feelings mixed in) and allows me to enjoy it more fully, without getting to sensitive, like my boyfriend and other uncut people I've been with tend to get.

ok so as an uncut guy living in the US i do not believe most babies being cut is justified it doesnt allow for the choice and to be honest most of the ailments all come down to choices in partners. if most american guys didnt sleep arround as much as they do it would never be a problem for them. its my firm belief that circumsision should only be performed if there is a Medically nessasary reason. and only then not even for this religion bull.

@TheWorstWarlock They're not exactly uncommon either, and you have conceded that people who are not circumcised are at higher risk for those ailments. I've seen European statistics supporting exactly that. Again, though, health benefits aren't the only factor. Religion sometimes plays a role too. Personally, I think a circumcised one is just easier, and it looks better. (There's a story involved here, but I'm not going into it.) But that part is just my opinion.

@TheWorstWarlock I wasn't referring to sexually transmitted infections. I was just referring to normal - albeit genital infecting - diseases. People who are not circumcised are scientifically proven to be at a higher risk for such ailments. So the argument is valid. Additionally, religion plays a factor.

Davey, I don't know if you ever read these comments, but it's a scientific fact that people with foreskin are more likely to contract diseases around the genital area than people who have been circumcised. That's a pretty compelling argument.

If you had no hair, you wouldn't have to waste money on shampoo, conditioner, barbers, combs, you wouldnt have to waste time styling your hair, you'd never get headlice, but you'd be.....bald. Dave, consider this though. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. A LOT of people assume that if you take some nerve endings, then you won't be able to experience as much pleasure. However, uncut guys have dramatically higher rates of premature ejaculation (aprox 20%) . We have all been or heard of guys that can be barely touched before cumming. So there is that benefit. There are also others but who has time?
Personally I am cut, I had no choice in the matter, but am overall glad for it

Recently, in my abnormal psychology class, we had a bid discussion on circumcision. A interesting thing I didn't know is that circumcised men have a dramatically lower rate of premature ejaculation. something like 20% lower. If you know anyone with this problem, it can be devastating for them.
Opponents say that it decreases pleasure. But my theory is that it rather prolongs intercourse w/o lowering pleasure. Your thoughts?

First of all, it's creepy, and secondly, who the hell is to say that the boy will share the parents opinion when he's older? And given it's HIS body, plus the fact that the parents will probably never see him naked beyond the age of about 10, whose is the opinion that really counts?

Anyways, in america, parents do it based on thoughts, such as having the image of a cleaner child (etc). Other countries, not so much.

What is important here is that it is hygienic. All they way to baptism vs. circumcision. I would circumcise you may not. Clean it or cut it. Sex and sexuality for a men does not end with or with out it. And circumcision does half the spread of diseases like HIV, but more so in less hygienic places that have less available water.

Smegma is a cellection of the secretions exuded by the mucus membranes on the head of the penis and inside the foreskin ...it helps lubricate, moisten, and protect the glans of the penis...it will not fuse the foreskin to the head of the penis and is easily cleaned away in the shower.

Why would your mother think that you should keep your foreskin to get more pleasure when you grow up? Thats just sick. Mainly being circumcised is for hygenic purposes. Although I wasnt circumcised when i was a baby, it was 6 years later. You should not only clean the head, but the skin rubbing against it including all corners under the skin, and it is inconvenient. Not cleaning it properly can result to infections. Its like not cleaning your navel, and generally boys are messy.

Even if true, the desensitizing issue would simply give you greater endurance during sex - surely a good thing. If you look at studies by researchers they have usually found no difference when it was done as a baby, but it tends to cause problems (in about 20%) and it makes things better (in about 6%) and the rest are indifferent. I say it doesn't matter and no need to wine about it.

I completely agree. I'm from the UK, and it's only really done here (as in most countries) for religious reasons, so it's really strange to think it's so common in the US. And they say it makes no difference to your sex life-it definitely does. The reason circumcision was started on a mass scale in the US was an anti-masturbation drive-you can still masturbate if you're circumcised, but it's more difficult. It shouldn't be legal to mutilate the genitals of children. End of.

My mom is from a Jewish family, so I got circumcised. I kinda wish it hadn't happened. I'm an atheist, so I'm a little annoyed - there was no reason to do this to me! If I grew up and decided for some reason I didn't like my foreskin, fine - I'd go through the pain of getting it cut off myself. I never had that choice.
I think my mom just did it so her parents wouldn't kill her.

I personally think uncut penises look really gross. But on the other hand, I disagree with parents acting like their child isn't a person but property. You can trim hedges because they're your property. Don't cut your kid because THEY'RE A PERSON AND THEY MAKE DECISIONS. Some of them may be childish, but CUTTING YOUR KIDS PENIS isn't one of them. Circumcision actually started as a completely religious thing. Abraham was told by God to circumcise himself, his household and his slaves as an everlasting covenant in their flesh. However, originally, it wasn't the entire removal of the foreskin. Modern day circumcision is rather extreme compared to the original circumcisions. (Sorry for pulling out my religious knowledge... I just wanted to clear some things up :))

I'm uncut and I love it. When I was a baby, my Mother was going to circumcise me, and when the doctor talked to her, they explained to her that it was just unnecessary pain, and desensitizing me. The only benefit was it was 'easier' to clean, but like Davey said.. the extra 5 seconds it takes to clean it is worth it. As I was growing up, my Mother always told me that it's my choice, and if I don't like it, I can decide to get cut or not. Thanks to the doctor and my Mom, I love my foreskin (:

Foreskin can sometimes be a health concern. It's not just cleaning. Sometimes guys (like me) get phimosis which means you can't even pull the skin back because it's too tight. Or like sometime, when having sex and you have very rough sex and grind too hard, you can cut the skin or tear the frenulum and need some surgery.

@Ultimatefalcon7 well that's a pretty simple thought... There are some other things you don't need; part of evolution. For exaple, you don't need you appendix or your tailbone.
Yes, the foreskin DOES have a function, but it's not a disaster to remove it (some people got a tight foreskin and it's better to remove it).

O.O ummm well im not a dude and im not very familiar with the details of this debate, but isnt it easier for a man to contract certain STDs if he has his foreskin? im not sure, but thats what ive heard.

If your uncut no matter how much you shake, wipe, rinse, or "milk" after pissing, when you roll the foreskin back, there is always that one little drop that come out underneath it and gets EVERYWHERE.
It's definatly worth being uncut for me though.

I am uncut and I love it.
I met a guy who got his foreskin removed as an adult and he told me it is true that the head of the penis becomes less sensitive so you get less pleasure...
Therefore I'm really glad I am uncut but I do love cut and uncut dicks anyway haha xD

I actually enjoy the fact that I'm circumcised (although, true, not my decision). It does not at all take anything away from the sexual experience, in fact it makes it less uncomfortable (sex it's amazing, but let's face it! it does have some uncomfortable feelings mixed in) and allows me to enjoy it more fully, without getting to sensitive, like my boyfriend and other uncut people I've been with tend to get.

Personally I enjoy being cut. I do not like the way that an uncut dick looks or feels. So i cannot really empathize with your frustrations. Sorry. Personal Preference.

Now Davey... How do you know for sure that uncut guys have better sex then cut people? Did you ask an adult that had sex first being uncut, then again having sex after deciding to get circumcised? ;) In reality that would have to occur to know for sure.
