  • I remember being in high school back in the mid 80s and listening to this and other people listening to madonna, motley crue, alabama and all that rubbish. i stuck out like a sore thumb but i loved every minute of it. i was in on a secret they werent. :)

  • Cured much of my teen angst...Back in the day! Great album.

  • best album in the world

  • This song.....just.....can't find the words....

  • I like this song, more realistic lol non of the happy go lucky stuff we have today...

  • The reason this album is so dark is that they were about to break up. This was gonna be The Cure's Last Album, however they gave it another go with The Top & had a hit on that one with Caterpillar Girl. After that they did Head on the Door & that album made them famous. It went off the Charts CHART TOPPER HITSVILLE.

  • The guitar line in this..oh god help me. So good. Pornography and Disintegration are essential Cure albums.

  • legendary song,a unique masterpiece....and one of the best live songs from cure!!listen to many, many cure bootlegs in the last 25 years.... one hundred years was definitly one of the highlights and of course a favourite from the band itself.just love this song

  • reminds me of decending into the first stages of hell in the divine comedy dantes inferno <:~(

  • I'm no expert on lyrics, but I think he's singing about the anguish of war. Just my opinion.

  • Fuck, this song is like taking some sort of depressing pills.

  • do we really need to be in a low for listening to this? i can listen to it in any mood...

  • Mierda! que recuerdos!

  • Okay, now I know why people always say The Cure started the goth sound. I like their poppy/punkier stuff but fuck this. I'm just not cut out for this. At least I've not hit a low in my life so low that it warrants this kind of music.

  • @FriendNotFoeBand Ha ha ha, wowww, I like your honesty. This is some of their best stuff, though. Try something off "Faith", next.

  • I absolutely adore this song. One Hundred Years is brilliant. The lyrics are brilliant. And the music is... well, to be honest, this song is just too good for words.

  • i've been a fan of the cure for six years this ones always been my favorite

    its so hauntingly beautiful

  • the lyrics are so intense

  • This song is just... YES.

  • Wow! How come I have never heard this till now??? Love it!

  • Thanks for the song :D

  • This great tune is proto-darkwave. In fact it could be the first darkwave song. The guitars have that dark, expansive sound that you just didn't hear before the Pornography album. Kudo's to the Cure.

  • + TRUE DARK MASTERPIECE +

  • One hundred years ahead of its time. Really describes the existential dilemma the modern human deals with every passing year. Brilliant, haunting and relevant.

  • If only this song could go on one hundread years :) ........

  • i bought album this on cassette tape after playing it a million times, the tape stretched which made this song in particular play a tiny bit faster until just after "Just like the old days" then it slowed to normal, made it that much more twisted. i miss that tape =(

  • Shit, I'm an 12 year old Swede and I am like one of the only one in my school listening to this? Except 4 of my friends of course!

  • @gothvampireswe lol....same here 15year´s ago..but in germany^^ :P

  • A good one, when The Cure sounded like "the cure"

  • @agshidrocalido EXACTLY.

  • @agshidrocalido The Cure sounds whatever Robert Smith wants it to sound like.

  • i heard this song when i was like 7 -_\\

  • I used to hate this song because of the gated reverb.

  • amazing. period.

  • fuck, i'm so ashamed i only found this in 2011...how come nobidy told me about this masterpiece??? but now i'm gonna listen to the whole album all day and all night!

  • @rosalbina188 Nothing to be ashamed of. You're enjoying great music now. ;D

  • @rosalbina188

this is a masterpiece well hidden.

    nihil on dancing legs

  • @rosalbina188 Its never too late to listen MUSIC that moves you

  • @rosalbina188 It's okay. All that matters is that you found it.

  • @rosalbina188 Well you found it before me, almost took me till 2012 but better late than never. Thanks, college radio!

  • @rosalbina188 welcome to babybat syndrome ;) no matter what anybody says, no one ever outgrows listening to pornography on repeat.

  • @rosalbina188 :) it's nice to discover audio gems like this, enjoy!

  • @rosalbina188 listen to the whole album "disentegration"

  • Best album they ever did, made so much sense in the 80s.

  • @MrTrevithick

Makes a lot of sense to me even now....and I was born in late 80's (no, I am not one of those people trying to be cool, just thought it was kind of relevant=)

  • This album...hard to describe. I bought it the day it came out, and I haven't forgotten a single note.

  • epic

  • "It doesn't matter if we all die"

  • @MrVonKorff Truly a legendary beginning of an album.

  • @FirstAlbumTrack 100% agreed
