I was on Isotane for about 9months. Within 3weeks of starting the course of Isotane the redness of my skin went away, in the first 2months my skin cleared completely. My acne was severe at the start, I was sick and tired of putting on makeup to cover everything. Best thing I've ever done is go to my doctor and ask about Isotane. It's now 9months since I've stopped taking it and I only get the odd pimple every so often(no whiteheads) Nomore dry lips either and my skin isn't hardout dry anymore.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are young, and by young I mean under the age of 17 or 18, you may have to go on Accutane a second time. Acne can return, though it may not be until you're 20. Most the people I've known that have taken Accutane early have had to go on Accutane a second time (though shorter, like a month.) because it didn't do the job the first time because they were still developing. Just keep that in mind! I'm on it now, day 4 hahahaha. I'm about to feel some dry skin!

Wow you had acne where I usually get acne. I'm starting to get a lot of acne scars and I've even tried toners and I still keep getting several big zits. My forehead is pretty clean, but I'm starting to get a lot of big pimples on my cheeks and on my head and they hurt. I would really want to try accutane but maybe just a small dosage because it's not that bad but I do get really big ones at times. I have like a dent on one of my cheeks because of a scar. Would you consider that severe acne?

you forgot about one veeery important side effect.. it causes birth defects. my derm recommended it for me but my dad said no :( i'm currently on a different acne medication and it works GREAT :)

@emiliaagracexo I did minocycline for a long time and it was working wonderfully. However it never cleared up my back acne and my acne relapsed and came back all over my face again. I'm now going on my 3rd month of accutane and so far so good :) Good luck with minocycline though! It worked for my dad when he was younger. It really just depends on you and your skin.

@DemiSelenaFan02 i used to break out randomly. If you havent tried Garnier Exfo Brusher and Spot Treatment (garneir also) you should. Theyre realitively cheap and i havent broken out at all since using them. Inface, i dont even wear foundation anymore its helped that much. Its not going to cure the acne, cause its not like for sever acne but give it a go, it helped me. xxx

I have had acne for about 6-7 years now and i sucks. I have tried over 5 or 6 different creams and 3-4 different pills and nothing seams to work. my skin is alot better now the only thing really are my acne scars & those are so hard to hide! I don't have alot but it's still a bummer. My doctor would like to put me on accutane but i'm still kindof freaked out by it. Your skin looks flawless! :)
