Yeah all the networks suck.TNT has turned into the Law and Order/CSI channel. Most of the other channels just take one movie and show it 2 or 3 times in a row in an evening.I miss the days of Bob Wilkins and Joe Bob Briggs.I'd even rather watch Mr Lobo or SvenGhoulie repeats than Transformers 3 times in one night on the SAME station.Bring back Joe Bob hes still around ,alas we lost Bob Wilkins a few years ago RIP Bob I still miss the yellow rocking chair and the big stoogie.
They should just create a TNT Classic channel with all the things we love brought back - classic logo, bumbers, movies, shows, and of course MONSTERVISION! Why not... what's one more channel on satallite. I'd pay.
The original MonsterVision seasons (1993-1995), along with MST3K, were to me, the best things on TV (besides cartoons) as a kid. Growing up, this was IT. The Godzilla Marathon alone was amazing to me, one of the greatest nights of my childhood for sure. I like Joe Bob Briggs, and he was a great host, very informative, very funny. But I just didn't like the movies that started playing later in his run, mostly crappy slasher films. But long live MonsterVision, just the same!
This was one of the reasons why i loved TNT around this era that and WCW. Since the block ended TNT became blah. Also word has it that ole joe bob is coming back to host a similair show on the yet be launched HorrorNet.
Everytime I look up Monstervision I see that Joe Bob Briggs or Penn and Teller were the hosts, but when I was a little kid I remember it started with no host and was just non-stop horror flicks all night. Anyone else remember this?
hey does anyone know what that Frankenstein movies called that they played for a while on monstervison? It was around 95-98 probably....i loved that movie.
@Thriced2286 Their was one that i remember Frankenstein (1994) it is an adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. I remember seeing it and to this day i remember the opening scene of a ship stuck in the North Pole.
@RavenRX yes! A ship in the north pole is one of the scenes thats most memorable to me also, i dont know why i think its because its where frankenstein dies later on in the movie? Not sure i havnt seen the film in so long and dont even know where i can watch it again.
Dude I remember trying to watch this as a kid but my mom telling me not to cause it would give me nightmares. But I still did it anyways. I missed this.
@cinematedman well joe bob briggs is making and hosting a show like this and airing it on a new channel called horrornet. i think its that new fearnet linear channel
Remember when TNT didn't suck, then again this is from an age when TV viewing was still fun! And what happened to all those cheesy but fun Hammer Horror Classics?
TNT sucks monkey scrotum now. CSI and Law and Odor are about as much fun to watch as jabbing a safety pin into your eyeball. Drama is tedious. Damn Soccer moms runthe channel since Ted Turner sold it. Monstervision needs to come back!!!
@MOSUGOJI i actually like Law and Order, but yeah, everything else on TNT is shit, except for the occasional movie... i say, put Monstervision on HBO, that way they can show ANYTHING uncensored
I remember when they had the Friday the 13th marathon on Halloween night hosted by Joe Bob Briggs. It had to have been in the late 90's when I watched it.
Thank you for posting this. Television was truly something else back in the day. You had great programs like Monstervision, 100% weird, USA Up All Night, Reel Wild Cinema introducing people like me to horror, sci-fi and B movies that I would never have found out about otherwise. I still vividly remember watching this program on Saturday's and challenging myself to stay up until 100% weird started because another great monster flick was on at 1:00.
Hello, this won't allow me to post a link, but there is an online petition, with quite a few signatures, to bring back this show to TNT. Just google for Monstervision Petition and you will get it. I hope everyone who reads this will sign .. just takes a second. Thanks!!
A couple of time they had marathons to the original "THE OUTER LIMITS". One time they had retrospectives in between the episodes with the cast, creators and directors. What a waste they never put it on dvd.
THIS NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK!!! GOD HOW I MISS THIS! Me and my mom would watch this at my grandmother's house every saturday night until I fell asleep. I knew like half the movies already but it was always a treat.
I miss horror shows like this. Why can't there be more, especially nowadays. If I have to see one goddamn reality tv show i'm gonna beat a tv exec with the buffy dvd series
God i miss Monstervision!!! Watching this brings back soo many memories i first saw the Shining and Friday the 13th watching this when i was little. God i wish this show never went away!. =( *such great memories*
Anybody remember TNT's 100% weird? They'd play horror flicks and goofy sci-fi movies, but had no host. Anyway, I miss Monstervision, thanks for uploading this!

Even though TNT has switched to a "drama" network, I'm sure they could still do a Monstervision thing every weekend if they wanted.
Unfortunately, I don't think they do. :( Letter-writing campaign, anyone?
