The genius of the Simpsons is that it appealed to the youth and adults alike, without resorting to being offensive or retarded.

Also the characters are way more likable than FG. IMO Peter sucks hairy monkey balls big time and Stewie is it's only saving grace.

On a Simpsons DVD commentary, someone said the reason they hated Family Guy at first was because Fox told them it was going to replace them and they were rubbing in their faces about how Seth and company did what they told them to.

Well,if we'regoing for realizm, I'd say Peter and Stewie would win. Peter possesses lotsa physical strength and Stewie has technologies. The evil Stewie was REALLY getting old anyway, and besides he's not my fav character, Peter is the man of the show!
