  • Those are some nice looking plants! How old are they? Time for an update?

  • @SAK59 hey thanks! these peppers are going on their 3rd winter coming up. I'll try and get an update here real soon. With the weather now not getting so hot, highs into the high 90's, things are starting to take off :)

  • i live in texas and i grow serranos and japenos. with my serranos i notice that you pick them and a week later you pick them again.

  • @imonaboat531 Yeah I notice that too. They seem to be bare one day then have a ton of hidden peppers, then like you said, a little while longer and you get another huge harvest! Thanks for the comment :)

  • Nice plants. Do u overwinter them? Cuz they are big plants. And they have woody stems. BTW, what do u put in your soil? Check out my pepper vid. Plants are not big at the moment, i'll send u my next update. They are starting to produce :) ... Keep up the good work. :)

  • @maylitosss Thank you! Yeah, I've had these plants going on 2 years now. I cover them in the winter when it gets cold with some standard frost cloth. I use blood meal, bone meal, home made compost, seaweed, fish emulsion, molasses and a bunch of home made teas. I'll have to watch your pepper video, thanks for letting me know about it.

  • Oh man, do I have a "here's your sign" moment to report. The area I "thought" was planted with Jalapeños, is actually... wait for it.... cucumbers! I did look up the variety I have though is L16788 from Lowes dot com / plants. It's a "medium variety is all I can attest to. I just started tinkering with gardening last fall and this spring increased the size 5 times. One of the most valuable lessons I've learnt this year is using a garden plan calendar and a DIAGRAM of my garden sections.

  • Thanks brother! Your peppers are looking swell and there's the proof. Judging from the way your jalapeno's look (leaves) I'll have to dig a little deeper on the variety I bought. Very distinct difference in leave size. Namaste ~Anthony

  • @4micaman You'll have to let me know what you find out, maybe we can trade some seeds sometime. Thanks for watching!

  • @ArizonaAdventures PS. no humans or plants were harmed in the initial trials and tribulations of my gardening experiments! :) A few worms may have been inadvertenly chopped while digging but I gave them a proper burial.

PSS. Looks like I'll have twice the cucumbers I intended to have... lol YUP... here's my sign!

PSSS. I'd be glad to do a seed swap, anytime. I'll only need a few of these pepper seeds as I'll be seed saving from all that I grow... or attempt to grow. ;)

  • Those anahiems are looking really good

  • @wmkk808 Thanks! I ate a few last night and they were really full of flavor.
