  • Looks like youll have that running in no time!

  • Most Americans don't want to wait for a diesel to be ready. They want to turn the key and drive. Glow plugs.. not a chance. Plug it in everywhere.. good luck with that. The noise the smoke.. ya right. Myself: I like diesels.. including my 83 Olds fired car.

  • maybe you can put it on the bitzer V4

  • @MrTurboturbine I was thinking that, or a DC generator when I get them finished

  • Oil slicks, Redneck weed & pest control :D, Shouldn't rust too bad, it's cast Iron isn't it?, it's the alloy that's the worry!

  • im glad you take the time to make these vids its really cool!

  • @Aussie50 I know you can't avoid using certain chemicals to do your projects, but the joking about contributing to environmental pollution? Pollution doesn't necessarily keep plants from growing, but it may make them inedible. Also, groundwater contamination and runoff are also concerns. Other than that, would it be possible to heal the surface rust on that engine, or would you have to scrape it off?

  • @100PercentGreen you cant get metal after its been chemically changed to rust so yes you have to scrape it off and global warming and ice ages have been occurring for millions of years but pollution from chemicals might be a little bad but so what people 30 years ago were able to use things that could turn the ocean to toxic waste and it never hurt any body plus it got the job done the first time not the 5 or 6th time like to days shitty cleaners or weed killers, rat poisons, etc its all worse

  • @joeyf504327 your dead right. there is no other option other than scrubbing and chemical cleaners. if I was using thousands of liters of the stuff, some environmental effects may be noticed, but the last time I used the wash-down area to make a really oily mess, I was cleaning the Range Rover after I got it.

even when you try and minimize it (I did soak a lot into rags before I got the hose out) the greenies still shit on you :p

  • @Aussie50 I know i hate it! the greens have so much control here we have few diesel cars in fact diesel is more expensive here!!!! how gay is that ford focuses in Europe get over 50mpg that's great but here in the states with gas engine like 32mpg rated but if you set cruise on the highway you'll get around 35-38 but still diesels are much simpler, lighter, more powerful, and cleaner if ran right but since there is so emissions tax and shit most companies dont even bother to try its too damn hard

  • @joeyf504327 You mean that we don't have many diesel cars here beacuse of the emissions crap? If that's what you are saying then it's at least partially correct. You see the car companies don't believe that there is a big enough demand for diesel cars to justify either reworking an engine imported from elswhere or to develop a new diesel to meet the idiotic smog regulations. That thinking may come from the Oldsmobile Diesel disaster of the late 70s and early 80s which turned many buyers off.

  • @OlegKostoglatov the thing is all people remember are the black billowing diesel engines the new ones today are much cleaner also why electric cars becoming popular because they can get the equivalent of 140mpg why in every other country there are tons a diesel cars like Mazda almost every car/truck for Europe or Australia are diesel why not do here in the states and canada there is a lot of emission crap for diesels which makes it hard for car companies to meet requirement the DPF for example

  • @100PercentGreen oil keeps grass and weeds from growing, we used to dump old sump oil along the edges of the old workshop to keep the grass from growing. even today (15 years later) its grass free and not black/nasty.

  • what are you going to use it for ?

  • There is a starter on ebay for 167 pounds which apparently works out to about $265 australian if you're willing to pay that much... others on ebay are listed for over 800 bucks, crazy!

    search

    220710173460

    on ebay if yer interested

  • @KrankieV2 yer those prices are insane!, I will keep looking around here for a used one.

  • if you did that in the USA and got caught you would be fined thousands of dollars for cleanup lol

  • @KrankieV2 yeh but how many people have filtered sumps in their backyard to degrease things into?

most degreasers they sell here are designed to be washed off with a hose after, and it usually ends up on the ground or down a drain.

  • @Aussie50 well yeah i'm just saying around here it's *technically* illegal to wash all that crap onto the ground. it's only really enforced on businesses and companies though. But if someone blows you in you are seriously fucked

  • Sweet, what year do you think it is?

  • nice. it will be nice if that runs :D

  • that would be a killer engine for a home made tractor or something like that. ive always been thinking about making a small pulling vehicle.

  • @Jaytheozzi Stick it on a Lawn tractor :)

  • ah come on.. i like your Projects... but please stop to contaminate the environment!!

mother Nature is fucked enought xD

  • Good job, looks alot cleaner now( than it did) . Thanks for sharing.

  • What's it for?

  • @adcuz small fishing boats

  • hey ed do u know what the power output and cc's are

  • @harlstr not yet, seems like a 6Kw unit with a 3-1 reduction drive

  • What style of boat did this come off? and how big was it?

  • @revhed89 it was all cut up, but I guess 6 - 7M overall length, steel hull
