Sorry to say it, but Leonardo DiCaprio would have been a much better Anakin. It's too bad he turned down the part, because Leo has the acting chops to portray Vader and would not be overwhelmed working opposite a great actor in Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine) as Hayden was.

But I would have liked to see Leo because the prequels needed more American actors, that was one the biggest problems. Samuel L. HAYDEN was a fantastic Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker BUT his more recent movies really prove his acting classes at the Art York Drama School and Strasberg's New York Acting School have paid off! He's a very shy and quiet guy but steps up to the plate when he has too. I like his movies since Star Wars even more, he's really played many different type of characters that are so interesting! OH...CANADA...HAYDEN is a "hottie" and thank you!

What would I have my parents write? Please, this is my opinion and there is no need to be angry about it. @nickole999 ITA with ya.. He is such a good actor you can tell the way he switch tone of voice. Hayden is awesome cuz is so intense i just cannot help to drool over him...Every time i watch Star Wars i cannot help to think how lucky we the cinema world and us are, he choose acting for a career. I hope he does more of these conflicted intense characters. Love Hayden!!!
