Taxidermy is a skilled profession. Trapping is as well.. Hunting and trapping are not sins .. Stop being ignorant. Just because you do not hunt, fish or trap does not mean it is wrong. You who live in the city would not be able to live in the city if it were not for the farmers, hunters, fishermen, etc. Get Real. You are showing true ignorance when you attack those who care more about and do more for the forests and its animals in one month than you will ever in your life..
Taxidermy is completely okay. As long as the animal was not killed, but was found dead and died of natural causes it's fine. Egyptians used to preserve their relatives and a lot of people have taxidermy and preserved creatures. It's very beautiful, actually. It preserves not only the animal, but their beauty for eternity.
@faehellblade you can get them at taxidermy supply stores. I'm just starting, but when I get an animal like a deer, boar, or other game animal, I'll be buying mine from either of these.: vandykestaxidermy.co m or mckenziesp.co m. there are a few others, but these are the mounts most commonly sold (at least, as far as I've seen). You can also make your own, but I'm not sure how to.
I'm not a huge fan of taxidermy, but that was just fantastic! Love the music choice, too... Beethoven always makes me think of "A Clockwork Orange" - but in a good way.
hello.. i hunt foxes and was thinking of trying to stuff one myself... i just want to know do i have to get some special stuff to preserve the skin or can i just dry it out somehow..... somebody told me to dry the skin with an iron.. but that sounds kind of strange. Any advice on preparing the skin for stuffing would be appreciated thanks.
wow, at first I was having trouble finding useful videos about taxidermy, but this was actually VERY helpful, even it being sped up, I could take some pointers, but I have a question, was that the single needle baseball stitch you used, and if so do you find it easier or more convenient than the double?
@TheGrinchfox its not evil. its only evil when the fox has been purpously hunted and killed. if it should die of natrual causes such as old age then it is fine. if this young woman has killed the fox herself (which i highly doubt) it is then evil. agreed?
@RenRejektid But then why we dont taxidermating old of incidently died peoples? Why they need to have rest after death? Their skin can looks cool on my shoes >:3. Or You gonna say that is awful to do and they have rights to be buried? Then why animals do NOT ?
that how it looks like when a fox is skinned like the head with out the skin and body fur and that stuff well it isnt to evil to do that if it was dead but if it was killed and then mounted all i can say is that your evil and gross
Wow, u looked like a total pro at this! Good job and very well done. I've always been fascinated with taxidermy but never has the guts or the opportunity to get into it.. haha =]
Awesome- and you're wearing an Alex Grey tshirt. I'm a total novice when it comes to this, and I'm hoping to secure a foxes head to a human body sculptural form. This video is a great help, thank you.
depends on what you tan it with and the weather/humidity. this guy took about a week. the skin shrinks so you have to watch how it dries, especially on the face
i likey the music it adds character to the vid and the taxidermist proffesion!!.

You can get them at either mckenziesp . com OR vandykestadermy . com
You can also make your own, but I only know how to make them from clay.
