Excellent enunciation (particularly at the beginning) some great passion and fine musicianship here, for a relatively small ensemble doing justice to a not-so-unknown and really great work!
@richmondie You are absolutely right! Israel in Egypt is much more exciting and lavish than the Messiah. The latter's popularity is probably due only to its connection with the emotionally (and commercially) more rewarding feasts Christmas and Easter.
"Israel in Egypt" really rocks! Handel wrote some many wonderful oratorios. Why we concentrate on " The Messiah" all the time is beyond me. That piece has become so trite. We hear it every Christmas and Easter. I for one am very sick of it!!!
I am extremely impressed! Bravo, this double chorus from Isreal in Egypt is not technically difficult but with such a small ensemble you executed this vibrant and decorative chorus brilliantly. Lovely.
The bass on the right at 1:15 forward is my college choir director.... :)

Händels Israel in Egypt was a great discovery to me... ASTOPNISHING and so remarkable that it is so unknown!

Why isn't this oratorio done more often? This is beautiful. Looking for "Who is Like Thee".
