@makme514 I would definitely say that 1964-1979 was the best era in music. The Golden Age of Motown, followed by the soul sounds of the early and mid 70s, and the disco of the mid to late 70s....all good music. 80s pop new wave was good. R&B/Soul of the 90s was very good though.
