Dexter has been utter tish this season. The Walking Dead's 2nd season was dull as well. I'm looking into other shows, and I think I'm going to check out True Blood and Six Feet Under. I've heard nothing but praises for Six Feet Under.

@Zhaquiri I'm still with Dexter and TWD but I agree. The "mid-season finale" crap with TWD was really annoying. The season was just starting to pick up... AMC is destroying the only show they actually own the rights to and that does extremely well. Lol. But yes, watch Six Feet Under. Easily in my top 3 series next to The Wire and Breaking Bad.

I think this promo describes characters' outer and inner sides. we cans see that even when people are calm, their inner side is bursting out. these are mirrors of every characters' inner world. fantastic promo of the cleverest and the most original series ever.

It's about a family who runs a funeral home who has to deal with death on a constant basis, even if it's in their own personal lives. I went into it not knowing much about it, it's probably better that way because it's hard to explain. Very good show.

@kyogotclaws I agree, I have never seen a show as brilliant as 'Six Feet Under' - before or since, it really ticked all the boxes, 'True Blood' is good but nowhere near the standard. When Kathy Bates said that SFU 'raised the bar' so high and set a standard which will be hard to beat by any other show, she was spot on.

It must be quite daunting now for Alan Ball creatively, as our expectations for his future projects will have increased, he must feel under a fair amount of pressure these days.

Whenever I tried to watch this when I was younger my Dad always seemed to walk in during the gay stuff and be like "What the fuck are you watching!?" and we'd switch to the 11pm news. Or we would watch five minutes of the show and he'd be chuckling at Ruth "haha shes exactly like your mother" and then he'd remember it was "the gay programme" and change the channel!

I'm only getting to see the episodes properly now, still on the 1st season so four more left to see, yippee!!!

lmao the exact same thing would happen to me with like, everyone in my family. they'd invariably stumble in as soon as something gay was going on. it was really uncomfortable. terrible luck--there's actually very little shown throughout the series, but damn, it happened a lot.

they didnt cancel the show. alan ball, the creator and producer, decided to end the show because he felt that it ran its course and didn't know where else to go with the storyline. it was one of HBO's most critically acclaimed shows and always drew high ratings. What else could you do if the creator decides that he no longer wants to make this show?

@haiyah6 Agreed. I hate that people in the US assume when a show ends before its 20th season, it was canceled because of ratings. David Simon only planned for 5 seasons of The Wire. Hell, Sopranos had 6 seasons and that show was getting like 10 million viewers an episode. More than the network shows at some points. HBO creators know that they are with a channel that appreciates quality over quantity and instead of diluting their idea for 15 seasons, they create like 5 or 6 excellent seasons.

@sestsa typically cable shows only get 4 or 5 seasons unlike regular network shows( NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS) if they're lucky, a show will get 5 or more seasons. Each season 19-20 episodes compared to 10-12 episodes for cable shows. Even now and days regular network shows have less episodes per season with a lot of networks debuting shows in January versus September like it used to be. its changing. pretty soon regular network will follow its cable counterparts example and have less shows per season.

I've always loved Six Feet Under Promos; they're so conceptual. They make you so curious, like: "what the fuck does this mean?" Overall, this promo is my favorite, because it shows that everyone on the show has all these bottled up emotions and it lets you see who they really are.
