  • イントロで衝撃。

  • Such a poignant song. Beautifully sorrowful.

  • Nice riff

  • Since I mostly listen to metal I first heard this song from Sodom's cover and lived it but I must say the oeiginal is amazing as well. :)

  • I FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS SONG FOR "KISS & BLOG"

  • These guys ripped off The Bangles.

  • @antdigger It's the other way around.

  • @antdigger You may not know this but this song was written in the 60's lol. The Bangles weren't around till the 80's.

  • @Janteral I'm sure he was kidding. Please jesus god let tell me he was kidding.

  • @antdigger get your facts right

  • From their best album

  • Whenever I lip-synch this, my face is so full of malice and cynicism. :)

  • I like both versions of the song. It's a really cool song.

  • I put these guys up there with the Beatles. They might even be better.

  • @amandaj781 they are better.

  • bzぱくりワラ

  • beautiful

  • @mokeymina2 you think thats the only 'pretty rocking song' that those hippies made. youre in for a world of wonders.

  • i feel so good hearing this now

  • I have always been a huge fan of Simon and Garfunkel. I grew up in the day when they were growing as well- the 60's. Awesome!!!

  • I remember this when I had just broken up with a girl in the Fall of 1981. I had a bourbon and soda in my hand watching the smoke curl out of a chimney across the street. I was all of 24....

  • This may sound insane, but I had a spider in my room,he was walking towards me when this song played, but he stopped when the music stopped,I started playing "Homeward Bound"(another Simon & Garfunkel song),he started moving again,I realized "This little spider may like Simon & Garfunkel",and just to pay a tribute,I named the spider "SG Spinner",SG=Simon & Garfunkel, and Spinner is a spider reference.

  • @DawnRainWasHere more likely it was vibrations from you moving and the speakers

  • @zatoth13 I know,but it was still cool

  • @DawnRainWasHere eh yes u are insane,,,but i still thumbed u up

  • the coast to coast am song lol

  • Does anyone know who the session musicians were?

  • Man this is real music. Then our kids made great music in the 1980s. We gave this music to our grandkids. Some of our grandkids make good music like rap while the others make terrible music. This should be the most watched video. Not those inhuman Justin Bieber dog farts that people call a music video. Thumbs up if you're with me.

  • @Jigsaw2012TV I agreed with you until you got to the rap part.

  • After all the heat, humidity and, severe weather. I'm looking forward to the peace of winter.

  • this song is fucking amazing ...19dislikes is a fail ...those 19 people should get some real taste in music

  • Comment removed

  • 19 people need to sort there lives out!

  • LOL... Here in the winter the lakes get about 20 inches of ice on them and we drive cars out on the ice to ice fish. AND WE GOT IT EASY!!! Buffalo NY gets a few snows each year of more than 3 feet in a day!! I always thought it was funny 'cause you guys are much further north longitude but yet we have colder weather in Ohio USA. Love the tune!

  • @MarkCox73 The Brits are receiving free warmth from our gulf stream current. If we decide to cut that off, they would be much colder, LOL!

  • it always gets me, why people vote to dislike the vid, when they know, their gonna hate the song, why waste their time watching something they hate, WHY?!

18 people need to be educated in good music!!!

  • 18 people have no taste

  • 18 people are def?

  • this is so much better than the Bangles version...but Susannah Hoffs is much hotter than both Simon and Garfunkel

  • I look at the pictures remmber all the shoveling in winter.Cold but satisfied inside warm.Knowing in the spring I will sprint along not slip and slid like in winter.but winter I listen to the songs.

  • i never knew this was S &G hit , i like it the same as the bangles version.

  • Utterly Amazing song and poetry....

Paul Simon was in europe when he wrote this song.... Him and Garfunkel were failing as a band at the time so they decided to go away for a while... Simon said that this would be the last song he would ever write.

The Hazy Shade of Winter is his career...... If you look at life as the four seasons, then since Simon and Garfunkel were winter, their career was definetely nearing the end....

Two weeks later, Simon and Garfunkel were international hits!

  • Man, what can I say about Simon and Garfunkel. I was 12 when this song came out and it's the soundtrack to some of my best memories...one of the first songs I learned on guitar

  • @jadegreenkaty Bangles redid it in '86 for the movie Less Than Zero

  • What is this foot of snow this morning? 20- wind chill. Spring please!!!

  • amazing!

  • This song reminds me of Pictures of Home by Deep Purple...... both are snowy and have similar sounds....

  • One of my fav songs, especially during this harsh winter here in NJ. As one who loves poetry in song; the pure, simplistic, yet complex music of Simon and Garfunkel will always be a part of my life and my heart.

  • Watching this at Brock University and looking out the window at a Canadian blizzard!

  • @guytitanic small world

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK you meant who covered it ? The Bangles

  • cooooooooooooool

  • I don't know., but if I listen to this song I feel like i want to to go on a ski holiday.

  • Great poetry fantastic music - decade after decade. These guys are geniuses.

  • Comment removed

  • The more i revisit the music of Simon and Garfunkel the more I realize what musical genius they were!

  • Always love the *dislikes* - there are idiots just everywhere .... legally walking around loose.

  • Love this . I just went to the Bangles cover, nice vocals, good guitar riff but suffers from bad 80's production - drum sound, synths etc.

  • Two of my favourite things - Brighton ( I lived there once, before the freezer) and snow...great video

  • Simon is so amazingly talented. And Garfunkel, while, he has a great voice, anyways.

  • This song has meaning all year

  • its official S & G rock

  • They're Americans, idle44. They can't accept knighthoods.

  • S & G should be put forward for an honoury British award, Sir Paul Simon anybody?

  • Look at all that "Global Warming!"

  • Still feel like applauding & Whistling at the end..

  • Great intro, meaningful lyrics.

  • Thank you for posting this, Rock square!

  • VERY nice! Thanks, I enjoyed it!

  • Anybody catch the Beatle type riff...similar to I feel Fine ?

  • @theyorkshirewhites i don`t know, that`s kind of a stretch . simon might have actually recorded this before "i feel fine" came out . i`m not saying you think there may have been an influence. anyway, this original version of this tune by s &g was also a big hit.

  • ok, I digress! Simon and Garfunkel was the original group that sang this song! I just remember when the song was made popular by the Bangles. I really don't remember S&G singing this song, but, I thank you all for jogging my memory.

  • N'eteins du musique, ce bon chanson

  • OMG, I haven't heard this song since the 60's, but the words came back to me!!!=Stefan=

  • Simon and Garfunkle sang this song originally. The Bangles did a cover 20 years later for a movie soundtrack.

  • nice...

  • who was the original band that made this song?

  • @jadegreenkaty Errr SIMON ANd GARFUNKLEL(wel duh)

  • Comment removed

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK Uh, you'd a thunk, wouldn't ya?

  • @jadegreenkaty You may be thinking of the Bangles. They did a pretty good cover in the 80s. S + G did the original tho.

  • @jadegreenkaty The BANGLES had a big hit with it..maybe that's who you are thinking about.

  • @jadegreenkaty hmmmm...how young are you? lol lol Ah well, it was S&G who performed it to remember back in our day... the Bangles did it ..just wasn't the same, but, it is good. Liam Sternberg wrote it.

  • @jadegreenkaty This is a S&G original--you may be more familiar with the version by the Bangles if you are under forty.

  • @jadegreenkaty the bangles

  • @The538560 Simon and Garfunkel, 1966.

  • @jadegreenkaty Duh? Simon and Garfunkel........

  • @jadegreenkaty If you were asking who wrote this song, it was the great Paul Simon.

  • @jadegreenkaty These guy's -- the Bangles copied it

  • @jadegreenkaty - only simon & garfuunkel, just as they did mrs. robinson. in fact they did the entire sound track 4 that movie Nthe late 60s early 70s, my mom loved the sound track. so we heard quite often

  • @jadegreenkaty - only simon & garfuunkel, just as they did mrs. robinson. in fact they did the entire sound track 4 that movie Nthe late 60s early 70s, my mom loved the sound track. so we heard quite often. U may B thinking @ the bangles.

  • @jadegreenkaty But the Bangles covered it for a movie, and you may've heard that version first.

  • @jadegreenkaty the bengals remade it but simon and garfunkel re the original songwriters. you dont have to worry though, this is the only one worth listening too

  • @jadegreenkaty The Bangles covered it.

  • masterpiece!!!!!

  • amazing song... AMAZING!

  • Dedico questa canzone a Marco Ercoli. Marco, questa canzone è riflette i nostri inverni. Interessa i nostri cuori ed anima. k Dio benedice tutti Pino

  • hmmm.....so darn good.....better than the beatles? love both....paul sure can write lyrics....simon i mean.....more poetic? edgier? love love.....i am impressed

  • love this song! Love S&G! Music was in its prime back then!

  • Nice shot of the rabbit hutches, aka east slope.

  • Most of the time, when people put music with thier video I think WTF are they thinking. But this song is a really good compliment to your video. Good Job you deserve everyone of your 394,897 views.

  • Great song.

  • dude now idk which version i like more lol......... this one has like a folk sound n the other is completely 80s, well i guess its just one of those things where ur torn between two things lol, like choosin between ur whiney kid or a cheeseburger lmao im jk of course.......... i dont have kids

  • @MrIceBrick If you want a heavy metal version, look up this song by the Sodom.

  • S+G one of their best. i listen to it everyday

  • great song

  • この曲好きです(^^)v

  • はじめまして。

    バックイントロに囁きかける歌声の絡み具合がたまらなくて、地獄へ突き落とされそうになる。

    怖い作品だと思う。

  • ah, yes, Brighton - The Tower Ballroom, Sam Leach, Prop., and the Fab 4 circa 1963. Well done, sir! Regards, The '62 Mathew St. Band (1 Man-Full Group Retro)

  • if S&G were the Voice of the 60s. who would you say was the voice of the 70s & 80s

and so on? just trying to get a feel for what direction we are heading in

  • @NotViper6

I'd have to say Queen ( Freddie Mercury ) were the voice of 70's and 80's.

  • OK so it was 60 something yesterday - 51 and sunny this morning - and now I am in the middle of 12-18" of snow - too apropos

  • i needed that

  • Love this song!

  • I was at Open Mic tonight and someone covered this song. For the life of me I couldn't remember who did it originally. When my friend Googled it and found S&G I couldn't believe it. I remembered a "girl band" covering it in the 80s, but I was saying I liked the original even more. But wow - awesome song

  • the bangles did it for some lame 80's movie

  • @Diocletian03 You are absolutely right, it was a lame 80's movie, and it's title, for those who are curious, is "Less Than Zero"

  • watching this as the snow and ice is falling outside

  • these guys are total fucking win

  • These guys have always been friends of mine.

  • Damn! I LOVE S&G, but more Paul Simon than Garfunkle. Anyway, I never even knew they did this song!

  • this is a great song simon and garfunkel never disappoint!!! :)

  • This tune started great and only sounds better with time...and you are so right, fmjjoker2...live well and make it count!

    These guys had great chemistry.

  • Falmer Sussex England, the University Of Sussex Campus Winter 2007/ 2008

  • God, these guys were such poets, in the truest sense of the word.

  • Great song....very fitting this time of year. Nice video...it goes well with the music. The location looks very similar to here in Pennsylvania.

  • yes I must get to Pennsylvania, thats where vampires come from right?

    LOL

    its actually Sussex England

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK-LOL, I hope not ! Sussex looks pretty nice....rolling hills, woods etc. From where I live in Pennsy it is also only an hours ride to the shore (beach) or to the mountains (Poconos). I guess I should look at a map....but I recall Sussex isalso a coastal area......Lots of haunted locations around here though. If you are into that. Valley Forge Park and the like. Thanks, take care.

  • @mausolos8 ahh I must have been thinking of Transylvania not Pennsylvania

I should be on the east coast in April

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK Enjoy your trip. I hope it is a pleasant one.

  • @mausolos8 gotta love PA. i live in shillington. its near reading

  • @mifflinlax10 -Its nice up there. You've got mountains right ? Not too crowded either.

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK i thought Vampires come from Turkey?

  • @spencegame perhaps you are thinking of umpires

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK Come on, Umpires do not exist. They're just a myth propagated by Hollywood for movie sales. Get with the times, man.

  • fmjjoker2 - beautiful thoughts! ;)

Great song.. cheers from autumn in Croatia..

  • This song is bitter sweet. Kinda reminds me that life is limited....in spring we are young with endless possibility, in summer, our fruitful years when we do most viable things in our lives, fall when aging really shows and we enjoy reminiscing and watching the grandchildren grow, the hazy shade of winter when we have our whole life behind us and the future is short. This song brings all this to mind for me. Live well everyone!

  • To the younger generation... good music doesn't die with time. New music will become oldies eventually. Give all music a chance. You'll likely end up finding good music where you least expect it. I've always been an oldies fan, but I like some of todays music as well. I have yet to find a music genre that I haven't found at least 1 good song.

  • thrash?

  • The man tells the truth...!

  • True. I gave up on pop after Joe Jackson, but now think some of the 80's stuff is not bad.

  • Does anybody know what ride cymbal the drummer is using?

  • great song!

off the back of this song i once ordered a vokda and lime. it was foul.

    still, great song!

  • @richardcadbury try it again , but this time eat a slice of apple a few seconds after you down a shot. they would have said it in the song but apple doesn`t work well in the lyric. [lime optional]

  • this was our 'rap',i listen to rap i'm in my 60's some is good, but mostly it sucks. That is true of every generations music

  • my generation pretty much listens to and dresses like crap. Though Personally I love older music.

  • God, my generation just dosent listen to good music like this, they just listen to krappy stuff like rap.. :(

  • I do so agree, I'm 19, and all friends are listening to Hip Hop and rap and struff.. That ain't no music is it? This is real, this is good.

But then, one of the greatest song writer ever: Paul Simon!=D

  • this song always makes me feel so happy,

  • odd... it always makes me cry....still, not in a bad way.

  • terrific song!

  • +1 Simon, +1 Garfunkel, +Infinity for the longevity of this song...

  • Where have all the years gone.

Song like this makes me won't to cry.

  • sounds like sheer poetry and Scotland after the leaves have gone

  • So cute song...:)))

  • S&G wrote many songs about anguish and lonliness.. and loss of direction.. I think it comes from the " beat"generation or beatnick poetry that they grew up hearing.

  • 14 years? This song is like 45 years old! Cute, though....:)

  • Cute? what have you written?

  • Probably they were saying they are 14 years old and it took all this time to find them.

  • Wow. This is my first time hearing these guys. Shame it took me 14 years to do it. They're amazing though.

  • great song, these guys are legends...god bless them

  • love simon and garfunkel and this song

  • you lucky sussexians were i live we get 12 feet of snow in may! well we also see the sun for 6 months of the year... uuh good song

  • lol, i pray for god every year to send me at least 1 mm of snow where i live its fuckin hot all year

i live in south america, or should i say SOUTH HELL

  • Nice 60's sound. They made some amazing music. Too bad they couldn't get along...

  • This is soooo good!! Did they write it?? Did the Bangles write or covour??

    Love Mrs.Robinson, too!!!

  • Simon and Garfunkel, I love them !!!

  • Noooooo... what happened whit The Bangles? Whatever... grea
