I bought a new Samsung top loader, a 4.7 cu. ft. model. Piece of garbage, bought it from Best Buy about 2 months ago. It has VRT so it's super quiet, but thats the only good part. The bad parts: Doesn't load enough water, so I have to haul buckets from my sink to the washer, pause it, toss the water in, then restart it. Also, the detergent cup and softener cup will bleed out the liquid before the cycle starts, so in effect you lose all your liquid and clothes smell like a machine when it's done.
@ProudfootHobbit I just bought VRT and it's friggin great. It's high efficiency dude that's why you don't see water sloshing around and it takes 1 hour to do a load. You don't have to haul buckets of water. LOL.
@melonbarmonster Well if you like dirty clothes, then so be it I guess. I can't imagine washing my car with a gallon of water, so I can't imagine washing my clothes with what appears to be just enough water to moisten to clothes but not enough to get the detergent into the fibers to wash it. Samsung sent a tech out to look at it, he said it was OK, I said it was a piece of garbage, he left dissapointed. They should stick to plasma TV's and Galaxy tabs, because appliances isn't their strong area.
@ProudfootHobbit Where I live white people, South Asians and people of all races and ethnicities smell fine and tend not to have hygene issues. What's hilarious is that you're too ignorant and uneducated to understand the concept of a high efficiency washing machine... Welcome to the world of science and technology. LOL.
It doesn't surprise me you think your clothes are getting clean when they're not, I was in Walmart the other day, there was some trailer park trash in front of me on my line that stunk of old pee pee and cigarettes, I'm sure they don't realize they smell, many people don't realize things that are apparent to others. Like when Indians or Pakistanis stink and they don't realize it or don't care.
OOPS I do have a missing rubber bushing on strut/shock absrbr bottom under soap dispnsr. I couldn't see it from the back cause the flange for the bolt there blocks the view from rear. So all I need is a thermistat, door seal, strut(rusted bad) w/bushing...
Mine sounds nearly exact same and the problem's not struts or shock absorbers. The noise from mine also seems to occur during clockwise spin, not cc. I saw somewhere something about a large three pronglike part called "Assy-flang PART NUMBER: DC97-06986A" that corrodes then BREAKS, being responsible for some loud pounding. Repair requires essentially complete diss ass embly. I've been my own repairman since we got the machine 5-6yrs ago. SOO many problems-hundreds of loads since noise started
The Brick products are made as their requirements, so they sell cheaper to the masses, so some functions or features in the product will be missing if you purchased from others, example a bed mattress, they have them produced cheaper with less product or cheaper parts, to sell you cheaper.
i bought the same machine and it bit the dust after about 10 washes. Different problem. Mine will not turn the drum if there is any weight in the drum (dry clothes - OK, wet clothes - Not OK).
These are way to expensive to fail like this.
I too will never buy another Samsung appliance again.
I use the similar washing machine more than a year. Never arose problems. Before I had other washing machine Samsung. She very reliable also worked more than 15 years...
Have the exact problem with mine, except for the gasket issue. Placed on the 2nd floor on top of a pedestal. It rattles the whole house so much that I adjust wall hangings every 2-3 days. Balancing didn't work. Tech thought it's the suspension, repaired, but that did not fix the issue. Apparently, it has a warped drum!? I don't buy the 'dropping' theory for a second, wonder if their container fell off the train..lol. Bought them at The Brick just like you. Anxiously waiting for a replacement.
Samsung did an investigation and found that both machines were dropped somehow when they were being shipped from their factory in Korea. Their National Service manager acknowledged this fact.
it's teh brick store's problem, transit bolts are used to prevent these problems and should be removed after the machine is dropped off at your premisis. if there were no transit bolts in place when you recived the machine, it means that the the brick store has removed them before loading and transporting the machine to your premisis. however if the machine had been dropped a long distance of say 5 or 6 feet then this may still result.
Korean made. Why are you NOT buying a North American made product like a Maytag or Whirpool? Shop Canadian made goods !
