The film REIGN OVER ME brought me to this song. I was trying to find out what song was playing during the scene where Charlie tells Alan about his family and beautifully breaks down after telling the story. So glad I found it. I'm thinking about that scene right now.

One of the few songs that sound better on the album then performed live. The album version is just so freaking beautifull but this version rocks aswell thanks to Clarence sax solo!

The "River" version is a new vocal dubbed over this same instrumental track. Bruce was mixing "The River" by then, and the band had gone home, so he couldn't record the whole thing over again. I guess he thought his 1977 voice would've sounded weird on a 1980 album!
