The film REIGN OVER ME brought me to this song. I was trying to find out what song was playing during the scene where Charlie tells Alan about his family and beautifully breaks down after telling the story. So glad I found it. I'm thinking about that scene right now.
@connaught2008 copland was never going to get any oscars,it came out in 1997,and we all know what iceberg based film starring Jack De Caprio and Rose Winslet cleared up that year
@Balliber Sorry to hear that. There may be some sort of communication issue going on there. You two need to get away and let there be nothing else exist in either of your world's but each other!
When I saw this live in Gothenburg, I almost started crying, and I swear, I saw a tear running down Clarence cheek. RIP Clarence, every time I saw you, you were amazing!
can't tell you how many nights I've driven for hours going nowhere just thinking about regrets, and things I could redo if I could... song is so powerful its ridiculous
One of the few songs that sound better on the album then performed live. The album version is just so freaking beautifull but this version rocks aswell thanks to Clarence sax solo!
@jowbowla I prefer the live versions, the albums are great, I agree, but you can hear that every day if you want and you support Bruce by buying the official albums and DVDs:-)
i admit that i am not a big fan of psycodelic music but this song just shocked me :d i really wanted to cry after i first heard it its the best dam song ever <3
MY God, how I love the sound of his voice in this version, raw, pure....In 1 word : this is Bruce ! Love it Will so for the millionth time I have to say thank you for uploading.
@kabouterke007 Thanks Patricia, love this one too, it's one of my old uploads and deleted it, you know, claims!!! but couldn't resist to upload it again!!:-)
The "River" version is a new vocal dubbed over this same instrumental track. Bruce was mixing "The River" by then, and the band had gone home, so he couldn't record the whole thing over again. I guess he thought his 1977 voice would've sounded weird on a 1980 album!
Dear ms. BruceJuice! You've brought many a fine Springsteen numbers to Youtube over the last couple of years. This ... is close to penultimate!
I salute thee. I'm not worthy. But how many of us are, compared to this ...

How lucky were we to have grown up and experienced this man's music? Thank God I was born in 66 and became a fan after BTR!

@Turtle152 it's also the lenght and more suited for a double album, plus on Darkness was no room for love songs

he played this in Gothenburg 2008 and it was the most awsome thing ever, first time it was played live since the river tour or something like that.
B0zz3 1 year ago 9
@B0zz3 Yes, after the River tour (when I'm right) he only payed it solo during the D&D tour

@B0zz3 Thanks for this wonderful upload.
One of the best song ever. Just love it...
You can just imagine how I felt when Bruce and the band played this song this wonderful summer night in Gothenburg.
