  • Hello. I love your channel. Please have a look at this link... Can it be legal, can't it? It's not nice to look at (I can't embed the link, just search "Bobcat trapping '10" )

It's really really sad to see that happening in the USA today. Could any action be taken against bastards like these? I mean... they should be hunted down!

  • @vaderhausen Yes, it's still legal, you can write to your state representatives and voice your opinion on the matter, please visit CatLaws*com for contact info :)

  • So Cute!!!! Raaaarrrrrr x3

  • hehe i lol'd when i saw one of the cats is named "will". such a silly name for a cat :) these animals are extraordinary!! their eyes are so mesmerizing!

  • I love this - Bobcats are amazing.

We have a cat that is 1/4 bobcat (and half persian) - we didn't breed him, he was given to us - and I can tell you, even that far removed, all the "wild" isn't gone out of him. His meow sounds different than a normal cat, he has to eat special cat food to keep his urinary tract healthy, he is a ferocious predator, and he's frighteningly intelligent. I wouldn't trade a minute of the 13 years we've had him for anything - but I'm not sure I'd do it again.

  • my favorite is Raindance^^

  • I wonder if they're allowed to see their segregate mother (the domestic house cat.) Do they still treat her like their mom or would they eat her without thinking about because of the size difference?

  • @ObeyBunny Unfortunately the bobcat kittens passed away, but in regards to your question, there's really no way to tell what they would do ??

  • @BigCatRescue how did the kittens pass away? :(

  • @nyraaXtle I will send you a link with all the information...

  • are people allowed to go in the cage to stroke them

  • @TerryMMA85 No, we don't have any contact with our cats.

  • @BigCatRescue ok probably the best idea but i don't think i could help but try and make friends with them, they are so damn nice to look at,they demand respect i know but they are an amazing creation

  • Bobcats havee been my fav animal for 20 yrs

  • ^.^

  • I love these kinds of videos, I like getting to know all the cats at BCR. These videos show how beautiful and happy these kitties are, and that they are wild! I'm a fan of BCR for life, and one day I want to volunteer! For now I'll watch your videos over and over ^___^

  • How come bobcats have short tail?

  • @SuperCuteButt1 It's an excellent question and one that doesn't really have an answer, tails are used by cats to balance and bobcats climb trees like other species?

  • Bobcats seem likesome of the more tempermental of the big cat residents

  • ooooooooh!!!!they are soo cute!!!

they seem to be domestic cats!!:) I really love your work and your "cats"!!

    ..good luck!!! :)

  • i truely think cats of all kinds are the most loving creatures on the planet.

  • i wonder what the laws are here in North Carolina against killing bobcats. i'm sure it's illegal to do so. but it's too late to save the bobcat that my redneck, savage cousin killed. My dads family is from Chicago and i am wanting to move up there or at least somewhere in Illinois more and more almost with every passing day now. not all people here in NC are ignorant rednecks but there is certainly no shortage of them. but i do know many, many good kind hearted people here also.

  • i don't hunt but here in a small town in the south where i live almost everyone else does. guys in my family try to get me to hunt with them but i refuse to do so. my cousin went deer hunting and saw a Bobcat and killed it for no reason except to mount it. that disgusted me and i will no longer associate with him for doing such a useless thing to an animal that seems to be rare here. i wish a wildlife officer would've caught him killing that bobcat. i see Bobcats here at times but it is rare.

  • @niteholler that's so sad. Why don't they understand? Did you try to stop your cousin from hunting animals again? I'd mentally kill someone if they hunted an animal.

  • @YesukaB yeah, but he doesn't listen because he's been trained by his dad to be that way. now i just don't have anything to do with him anymore because ignorant, narrow-minded and close-minded rednecks make me sick to my stomach.

  • @niteholler oh.

  • lol Des-Purrr-ado & Cleo-cat-tra..clever

  • @crystalmuro7894 Thanks for watching and commenting, we are doing our best :)

  • When I was a kid I had some neighbors who found a bobcat kitten whose mother had been killed. If I remember right they ran out of milk so I agreed to carry it to my house to give it some. Talk about some sharp claws! I still remember the red marks it left on my chest as it was clinging to me and I was wearing a shirt. it''s meow was a whole lot rougher than a regular kitten. I realized then I would never want a bobcat for a pet.

  • estos linces,tambien son preciosos!!!!!

  • the bobcats are tameable?

  • @Federico84 No, no wild species of cat can be tamed.

  • Idk but they all look the same to me.

  • sometimes people can't take of a normal domestic cat. They let it starve, abuse it, and neglect the animal.

  • What about Midnight, Rain, and Storm?

  • @wolfpup3311 Rehab bobcats are released back into the wild, they aren't permanent residents...

  • Wow, thats a lot of bobcats.

do you have more bobcats than any other species, and why is that???

  • @elfwhitewave Yes we do, they are popular as "pets" that then are unwanted, we also started in 1992 when we rescue d56 bobcat and lynx kittens from a fur farm :)

  • @BigCatRescue

From a FUR farm?! God bless you for that!

  • let me in !!! i want to play with them ;D

  • They're all beautiful but Little Feather is the cutest in my opinion ;)

Do their color/fur changes according to the season or the place they live in ?

  • @julosx She's on of my fav's too :) The coats are more brown during summer then they turn grey in the winter :)

  • purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Native american names? How cheesey can you get? I was surprised there wasn't a bobcat named 'Chief Red Fur'...I'm full chippewa, and I gotta say;

  • I'm surprised you can tell them all apart from one another.

  • I love that stubby tail!

  • So why do people get rid of their pet bobcats? I can understand why people get rid of their big cats once they get to a certain age, but a bobcat seems somewhat easier to manage and isn't as expensive to keep.

  • el guey ke sale en 1.02 esta loco el guey si le cayo en nombresito jaja y el del 1.43 se llama igual ke el perro de mi novia jaja

  • @laurikaru No domestic cats are more closely related to the jungle cat and African wild cat :)

  • indian names i see, i'm part native myself =]

  • Hey thanks for sharing this video!!!Beautifull animals!!!

  • @189Maria miao !!!!!

  • it's like seeing my cute dakr in a big body so cute *.*

  • that divine, that love

  • can you have one for pet?

  • @amet1980 Unfortunately you can, but this is a very bad idea, many of our bobcats are former "pets"...

  • Do I detect a Native American theme here?

    And "Ace" and "Selena"?

It's a mixture of rock music and indians!

  • crazy cool wild animuls rrawararawr

  • How do you know which bobcat is who?

  • @iluvbobcats You can tell from memory when you were filming them :)

  • @BigCatRescue I thought you tagged then with something in their ear, or is that only for when you release them in the wild?

  • Running Bear and Little White Dove!!!

    I love their names!

  • Too many bobcats.

  • I heard bobcats prey on feral cats is that true?

  • @cscate Sounds like how coyotes do with dogs.

  • @cscate I'm sure they do when natural prey is scarce.

  • We have lost a few feral cats here in Gotha Florida. They just don't come home anymore.....We have Bobcats living in the woods. There has been so much construction and tearing down of the animals natural habitat that I wouldnt doubt it that that is what has happened to some of my ferals.

    The circle of life.

  • whats the size difference between a house cat and bobcat?

  • @cscate Bobcats can weigh, 30, 40, 50lbs :)

  • @BigCatRescue I didn't know they could get *that* big! I saw a bobcat at The cat house in Rosamond California. Now that I know about BCR I want to save up to go visit!

  • such beautiful creatures

  • Every time I see a video of big cats, I just see my little cats reflected in them--they share all the same mannerisms, expressions, habits...why can't people just adopt domestic cats if they want a pet cat? My little guys are the exact same as these big cats--except they won't rip my face off if they get angry.

  • @someamerican We wish more people had your intelligence!! :)

  • @someamerican so true! Whenever i look at a serval I see my cats face

  • @someamerican

I know my domestic cats aren't going to eat me for lunch if they're in a snit about something, either.

    :-D

I've always loved big cats. There are some religions that see the divine in every living thing. I am awed sometimes at the perfect beauty in a big cat's face.

I think to myself "Only a Higher Power could have created something so beautiful."

    But that's me.

  • @someamerican totally true

  • @someamerican Because they can't, not because they don't want to.

  • @someamerican I suppose the same reason that people don't just buy pintos if they want corvettes...

  • @someamerican

Probably for the same reason people get rottweilers, pitbulls and dobermans over pomerianians and toy poodles. They just don't appeal to them, even though the bigger dogs are more dangerous and kill more people.

  • @someamerican don't forget the size difference

  • I love the name alexander, sincei liek a person :))

  • I saw one picture that had three bobcats in the same cage... are bobcats social? I'm going to guess they're siblings who grew up together?

  • @mccuresr These bobcats were introduced together at a young age so they get along well :) But normally bobcats would be solitary in the wild.

  • I was in Florida recently, but I didn't get the chance to come see you guys.

I did find your brochure in the lobby of my hotel, though!

  • @AzurePeacock That's too bad, we try and keep advertising costs to a minimum :)

  • Bobcats are so cute! Cats are my favourite animals, I wish I could take one home! (but I won't ^^)

  • Bobcats will attack you in your sleep.

  • It is simply unbelievable that there are people who want to keep wild animals as pets. It can't all be ignocance, can it? I believe some people just are selfish, no regard to other living creatures.

Domesticated cats and dogs should be enough. Even more so, when so many are abandoned and cruelly treated.

  • I don't think I saw Catera in the video but, I did my senior show today using 4 of your big cat's testimonies and created illustrations for each of them. Catera was one of them. ;)

  • @IWUSkittles Unfortunately Catera as passed away :(

  • @BigCatRescue When had that happened?

  • @IWUSkittles August 2010 :(

  • Little Feather, does look little. And looks very different for me somehow then the others.

  • wow such pretties. I would never want one as cat, for my and the animals sake, but seeing all of them in your vids is great! Greetings from Germany, keep up the good work!

  • @robynofrye Thanks for watching all the way over in Germany! :)

  • 2:37 epic capture

  • @123MIURA 2:37 epic picture ;`-)) the eye of a ´´tiger´´

and @ BCR/ Chris behind the camera: you are the luckiest guy in the world

wish I could join the team.. or at least visit one day!! thanks for enabling us to experience your & your big kitties world at YT.. your videos are jewels !!

  • @MrTaekwondoTiger

    Awesome footage, and presentation.

    What beautiful creatures.

Thank you for the share my friend.

    Thumbed!

  • can i have one?

  • They have beautiful eyes

  • Is it true that there are black tigers?

  • @RawMciver Not that we're aware of, there have been a few reports of black tigers but they usually turn out to be a case of when the tiger's stripes are larger than normal making them appear to be black to some degree ?

  • @BigCatRescue Aah, okay. Its probably just a myth then ^^

  • I see you have a lot of old cats here. I'm glad that they have a comforting and safe place to call home until they are returned to the earth. I take it the younger ones either have no hunting skills or are too thoroughly imprinted on humans to be safe for release?

  • @kjminniti Most of our cats we rescue are mature, but no matter what the age of the cat they are unable to be released into the wild, this very rarely happens and if so they are captive bred individuals with pure genetics etc... Like you said the cats we rescue also associate people with food etc.., lack hunting skills and would no doubt become nuisance animals.

  • what's the story behind all these bobcats? Were they someone's pet at one time?

  • @SmoggyZilla So many stories, many are fur farm rescues or former "pets" if you visit our website BigCatRescue*org and type the name of the bobcat in the search column you can find individual bios on all our cats :)

  • Very adorable creatures! And I like their names. Save the cats. Weeee!

  • Bobcats are my favorite to watch :) their so pretty. Do you guys have a perfessional camera person? The shots you get of the cats are amaazing!

  • @lyneajessica Yep, that guy is me :) I'm the videographer and senior keeper, thanks for watching!

  • They're absolutely beautiful!!!

  • abvsolutely gorgeous animals

  • wow small cat, big fangs :S

  • Wonder video!!!!!!! Big huggies Perla.

  • Banshee has a cute wagging tail! :)

  • Beautiful cats. Glad they are being taken care of.

  • There is a bobcat I have seen on our land. We have wooded acreage full of wildlife. Rabbits, squirrels, opossum, snakes, raccoons, owls, hawks and more at times. There has been deer and at least once a mountain lion, not to mention the coyotes.

  • @txmardeck Sounds like a nice area, hope it stays like that :) ...

  • They're so cute.

How come they have very short tails?

  • Crazy Horse is awesome "Don't mind me..just walking up to the fence to see you.." *swipe* "GET AWAY!" Totally cat like. I'm not sure which cat would scare me more if it were chasing me, a cougar or a bobcat.

  • Two of these beautiful creatures were lying in my back yard early last spring. They stayed for about 3 weeks.I wonder if they`ll be back next year.(NB,Canada)

  • crazy horse is as sweet as ever i see :)

  • How splendid!

    They are so gorgeous XD

  • I can see why people keep them as pets they look like big silver tabbys. They are very cute and look cuddly, they are nothing less than adorable especially when they are playing in the enclosures or snoozing in a tree. I think they would look even cuter in the wild which is why they shouldnt be pets at all. Thanks for sharing these beauties BCR

  • awww soooo cute!and loving!!!!

  • That's a lot of bobcats.. I see that some of them have smaller cages :( Was it only for shooting, or due to the high numbers?

  • @Ido013 They all have similar sized enclosures, any particular shot you can direct me too? Thanks!

  • @BigCatRescue the shot at 2:49 makes it look smaller.

  • It would be awesome if you guys had a contest of some sort and who ever won could choose a name for one of the big cats at the rescue. (:

  • @ElementThrasher

There was a drawing after Desiree serval was rescued, to name her.

Many of these bobcats have been there for years, or named by their previous owners, and to change their name now would confuse them.

  • @ElementThrasher Like LuckyCatNeo said, we did this for Desiree the three legged serval, but we keep the names of the cats when we rescue them unless they have no name etc.. :)

  • are the what we call Lynx in Europe?

  • @KukulcanZ The Bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a type of Lynx found in North America. There are also the Eurasian, Canadian and Iberian Lynx.

  • Speaking of bobcats, how are the 3 kits doing?

  • @victoriacrl Unfortunately we lost Storm the male kitten to a thickened heart wall :( But Midnight and Rain the female kittens are doing grr-eat!

  • Great video and beautiful bobcats! Thank you!

  • ADORABLE

  • The Bobcat Battalion. I love them! :-)

    Great Ikea-style Bobcat hammock @3:09

Terrific match of visual and audio tracks @1:03.

  • How many Cats in all do you guys have?

  • @VintageCrime Around 120 !!

  • How many Cat in all do you guys have?

  • How do you know every single name the next day ? Ace looks so sad

I like the cage because it make the place look bigger

  • @lllzehcnaslll I can tell form their enclosures etc... plus I have been working around these cats for years so can distinguish between them :)

  • just looking at their faces they almost look like a domestic cat you have as a normal pet... but when you see their teeth and how big they grow you realise that they arent meant for as household pets.

  • tailwag for the win!

  • cool names!

  • THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Such beautiful animals, thanks for sharing!

  • If people want a "wild cat" they should go catch/ go get a wild stray from the humane society that will be put to sleep due to its angry nature.

Not only will they save a life, but get to have the "wild' inside their home!

  • @equarg Yep, we wish more people did this, there are so many cats being euthanized in shelters each month, yet breeders are still breeding "designer" cats etc... :(

  • Wait, I also know that there are lynx. They look so much alike Bobcats. How can we tell them apart?

  • Little Dove, Great Pretender, Indian Summer etc. Their original owners really have weird sense of humours for naming those cats that.

  • @AdvertChild98 You can tell them apart when looking at their tails, the bobcat's tail as a black tip just on top, while the lynx tip is black all the way around :)

  • Bobcats are so catty. They remind me of one of my neighbours' cat! Why mother nature has to make them as wild animals, not tame domestic cats??!!

  • I was once sitting at my computer during a thunderstorm and I heard a low growling. I thought it was the wind, since it sounded so unearthly. It continued, coming from behind a pair of sliding window doors, blocked by venetian blinds. I went over, pulled over the blinds, and staring at my face was a giant bobcat.

It scared the crap out of me. I literally jumped back and scampered up the stairs to the upper floor of my house, since I was so shocked.

  • @webrawler That would be scary, did you have pets in the house ??

  • @BigCatRescue

    Nope. I was all alone.

  • do they all live together

    ????????

  • @thelionkingfamilys They are in separate enclosures at the sanctuary we have a few enclosures with multiple bobcats but otherwise they are solitary.

  • Awww they look all so beautiful :D.

  • They're all sooooo beautiful.

  • I love Bobcats! By any chance do you have any Canadian Lynxs? I love them too!

  • @lightningstar25 Yep, we have one canadian lynx, I just sent you the video as a message :)

  • Great video! At 1:37-9 the cat looked like a model walking the 'cat' walk!! Beautiful cats! Thank you for giving them such a good home.

  • Bobcats are so beautiful <3 I love how you can see the different face shapes in each of them.

  • Uhmmmm ... not to be all nit-picky and all, but aren't some of those "bobcats" actually lynxes?

And - those cats that are former pets and still want human interaction (as some seem to) - do you allow it? If not, don't you think that's kind of mean? The cat is accustomed to receiving human affection, and rejection or disinterest could be hurtful to them.

  • @CanadianBroad2008 We have a couple of lynx/bobcat hybrids included in this video.... Some may see the lack of interaction with the cats who appear to want it to be mean, but this is the safest and only option for us now. We don't allow contact with any of our cats it's simply too dangerous, they are still wild and very unpredictable.

  • Big Burrly Boos

  • oh so cute!

  • How do you know which one is which?

  • @Zblj1987 They are in separate enclosures at the sanctuary we have a few enclosure with multiple bobcats but otherwise they are solitary. Plus you can distinguish which bobcat is which after you have worked at BCR for a few years :)

  • i like how you put them together :D

  • @TrampOllen THANKS !
