If these companies fail now, though, that's going to put thousands of even more people out of work, and make the recession worse. I think the US government should buy up a controlling share of their stock of all the companies and sell it cheap or give it to all the GM, Ford, and Chrysler employees. Let the employees control the companies.

At last some sense: Moore is damn right as is Pongman! These rich arrogant bozos killed the electric car, they should ask Exxon/Mobil for the bailout. No more socialism for the rich and their profits. 1-CEOs & Top management resign

2- Agree to produce cars meeting higher fuel efficiency standars now! At least 35 miles to gallon on all big three made cars now. NO MORE SUVs Also make half of fleet at least some type of hybrid flex fuel models.

3- Stop big exec payouts & cap exec pay.

as a member of a GM/UAW family (and all of the cycles of strike, layoff, strike, layoff, buyout, rehire, strike, layoff, transfer, layoff, buyout offer/crisis, transfer, transfer, buyout offer/panic, etc.), I'm so sick of these guys I could spit.
